My primary doctor initially wanted to send me to The Spine Team but I asked to go to NW Ortho…read morebecause my husband went there years before and had a generally good experience. I wish I would have followed the initial referral of my doctor, as NW Ortho has either gone way downhill or just don't have the staff to handle all their patients. I was suppose to go to a doctor, Timothy Powers. I never did meet Dr Powers, the the initial appointment I saw a PA. This was ok but he didn't really explain my x-rays or discuss anything else with me. However when I got the second notification for my appointment it was with another P.A. Still no doctor, not even an introduction. I called the office manager and let her know I'd like to discuss my condition with the doctor my appointment was made with (Timothy Powers). She basicallty told me, without any explanation or policy discussion, I was out of luck. So I went in and talked to the second PA who told me I probably had a pinched nerve and needed a MRI. Fine, I go get the MRI that detailed several spine changes, including several bulges and effacement of the cord at one level. When they called me to come back for the results, the appointment is still with the PA. To be clear: I have no issues with PAs, often preferring a PA to the doctor, ONCE CARE IS ESTABLISHED. Frankly, I am still wondering why over the timeframe of 6 weeks, I never saw one doctor. Does Medicare and the insurance still pay the "doctor rate"? It just seems like extremely poor patient service and care with no explanation from the office or the business, I won't be going back! By the way, total patient face time with both PAs was less than 8 minutes per visit.

Dr Lynch did my first hip, Dr McDonald did my shoulder and knee and Dr Reichard did my other hip. They are all amazing doctors.

Staff took over 6 hours to return my calls about my concerns. When finally able to consult with the doctor he was unconcerned & without empathy. Billing was also inconveniently managed. I'm amazed at the higher reviews. My experience has been a disaster. I tried many times to get Dr…read more Scott to address pain and swelling. The first response to pain help request was "I wasn't in enough pain because my voice didn't show enough pain over the phone." My caregiver and I were shocked at the response. At 6 weeks, I visited my regular doctor who gave me a list of questions to ask at the upcoming appointment. Dr. Scott dodged all questions, saying "everyone is different". Being different should not mean refusing to address the problem. Since then, my regular doctor team has managed the pain and more recently with an ultrasound and MRI has found swelling and post surgical changes. The ultrasound showed a large blood clot causing the swelling. These tests are pretty basic to rule out serious things like blood clots that can cause strokes. I am so grateful that my regular team of doctors are more interested in solving health problems than ignoring them. The stroke will take 2-3 months to dissolve and I don't know about post surgical changes treatment yet. I do know there is at least one other former patient with the same bad treatment facing a repair surgery. I wonder why Dr. Scott isn't working at Providence anymore or doing them in Spokane.
