I was not approved due to my credit not being perfect despite having perfect rental history through a local realtor for three years (who she didn't even bother to call and verify). Neither did she ask for check stubs which would have clearly shown we can afford the home. She even refused to run my co applicants application unless I assured her his credit was perfect. She stated the "luxury home" we applied for required perfect credit. The home in question is older than my great grandmother and had several visible rat droppings. The garage door was broken and the home smelled. I'm sure I am the only idiot willing to pay 1900 for that home due to needing space for my family of six so guess they missed out. We weren't even given the option of a different rental to choose from. She basically wiped her hands and said good luck. I have the texts to prove this. Funny thing how Florence WILL bend over backwards to "overlook" the bad credit of an employees mother who recently got a rental from them. I was even referred to Angelo by that employees mother who said they are understanding and work with bad credit. In this economy whose credit hasn't been affected? I even offered explanation for the things they asked about on my credit. But people still need homes to live in and apparently favoritism runs in this company. They work with who they want to work with. Based off what I have heard around town this company has a bad reputation of no being professional, so I guess we dodged a bullet. Not only will I never do business with Angelo Rentals but I will actively discourage my colleagues from doing business with them and taking their listings to a more reputable company. I understand there are policies in place to decide a future tenant but to go above and beyond for one and not another simply because they are family of an employee is not a good look for a company that wants to be seen as reputable or fair.

I'm not sure why they got rid of the old management but the new management seems to be incompetent and are of no help. Last summer our window nets got destroyed from the storms and I put in a work order to get them replaced so we could open our windows (we live near the lake so the amount of bugs and spiders crawling around is gross) and they never came out. I asked at least 3 times and they told me they had to order new ones. That must have been a lie because they still never came. I gave up on that idea. Then a few weeks ago we had a major storm and a neighbors large trampoline was thrown into our backyard and it damaged some of the wood siding on the roof area. It took almost a week to get in contact with the owner of the trampoline and he still didn't remove it after we had asked him too. So we went to the management office and they said it was between us and the owners of the trampoline. I thought that was a little absurd since we rent and don't own the property so I thought they'd have to get involved. Then I let them know about the damage and against the management office said that the owner would have to claim it with his insurance and they once again cannot get involved. How do I make sure if he claimed it or not if I don't even own the property he damaged? I wanted them to reassure me that this would not cause any problems when it's time for us to move out and their exact words were "no I do not THINK it would cause a problem". So much for reassurance! And my latest complaint is the broken AC. The AC broke on Friday and I called it in that morning and the girl said she would put in a work order. Knowing them, I didn't expect them to come out until the next week even though it's been in the high 90s. Today is Sunday and with three fans blowing, it's still excruciatingly hot and we can't open our windows because they never replaced the nets -_- oh and I'm writing this review while I sit in my air conditioned car outside of my house. The space and backyard is nice but it's not worth the money. I can't wait to get out of here! Oh and the new online bill pay is confusing and the management couldn't even help me set it up because they were just as confused! It might be better now but I'm just going to stick with giving them checks.

Many illegal tenants were living in my property. I still get mail for people who weren't on the lease. I have renovated and moved into this property. One of the long time tenants (there were two) didn't even sign the lease. After having lived at this property for a few years now, I've learned the horrifying details of what went allegedly down there. The place was a premiere methamphetamine house. An AC technician told me that he had serviced the HVAC several times, and he said it's one of the worst "druggie" places he had ever seen. Neighbors and contractors were all happy to provide written statements on what they saw there. Genene Baker evicted the guy (after I investigated). The damage was BEYOND disgusting. I never knew a person could do that sort of damage in such a horrifyingly disgusting manner. It cost me $16,000 at minimum. I was told that Bob Reeves was absent during a good portion of my time at Dierschke and Dierschke. Photos of the damage were taken. Those photos were printed out in black and white. The digital copies were deleted. Genene Baker said that she didn't have color or digital copies. I can't use resolute language here, but I believe Genene is the one that did this. I spoke extensively with a couple of Attorneys regarding damages for this nightmare, but I ultimately decided, at the council of the second Attorney, not to do this. I was a young guy when I bought these properties and let some things slip through the cracks. Honestly, I'd never hire a PM in San Angelo again. Those are some main points. To conclude, I'm lucky that nothing very serious happened there. Recommendations to Investors, tenants, et al: Beware. Stay away from Genene Baker. Rely on alternative options.
