When I first arrived at her practice, I was in such severe pain that I was walking with a cane. Over time, she has provided me with valuable information, exercises, and support in addition to treatments that alleviate the pain. After a course of treatment, taking her advice and doing my exercises, I'm able to walk 4 miles a day on my treadmill! I now return to her whenever I feel as if I need a 'tune up". Whenever I do contact Beth's office, her assistant Sheri bends over backwards to work me into the schedule. In addition to scheduling, Sheri also goes above and beyond to negotiate with my health insurance coverage on my behalf. Everyone associated with the practice makes me feel like I'm a part of the family. Beth has a wonderful, empathetic approach that makes me look forward to seeing her, and I know that I will always leave feeling significantly better than when I arrived. She has also taught me a lot about anatomy and how pain often develops in one part of the body but appears in a different location. The more I understand about my body, the better I can take care of it. I can honestly say that Beth has made a significant difference in the quality of my life, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for an expert physical therapist. She did for me what chiropractors, acupuncturists and other physical therapists couldn't.

I have recommended her to a number of people and will continue to do so.

I started Physical Therapy at PRN La Mesa in March, because after spinal cord surgery last year,…read morethe finger tips in my right hand were completely numb with no tactile sensation. The Neurosurgeon wanted to do more surgery to try and relive the symptoms. A nerve conductive study gave a diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel. I asked for a referral to PT before considering another surgery. At 74, surgery risks increase. My Physical therapist was Pablo Pelayo. After my initial interview, we both agreed that my symptoms were not typical of Carpal Tunnel. After 5 visits, I was elated to find I was getting sensation back in my fingers. This was HUGE!!. After more than a year I finally got sensation back, without surgery. Pablo's approach was phenomenal. We continued to work for a total of 16 visits. Now I have 75-80% feeling and tactile sensation back. I could not be more appreciative or grateful for having the full use of my right hand again. I came to urgent care after completing all of the required paperwork and emailing my insurance…read morecards, which they already had on file. After checking in, the receptionist told me she needed to use the restroom and walked away. I later realized she had actually gone to speak with the office manager. When she returned, she informed me that the office manager said I could not be seen that day. I explained that I had been treated at this same location in November without any issues. She responded by saying I "shouldn't have been seen in November because they didn't get paid." However, I have the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) showing that the claim was paid. I expressed my concern that this was an urgent care facility and that I was being refused care. I was simply told that I could not be seen there. The entire interaction was disappointing. I found the staff to be rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to communicate respectfully or resolve what appeared to be a misunderstanding. Based on this experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this facility to others. I will not be returning and would not recommend this location based on my experience.

Quality care, listening, quickly diagnosing/treating appropriately. Staff is friendly & competent. Dr Scott Evans has been my primary, although I've seen others that I've been equally impressed with. The only negative from a patient standpoint is appts can be difficult to come by. However, they will accommodate urgent matters. I cannot say enough great things about this group. I feel very blessed to have this team guiding my healthcare.

Pool bottom/sides surface is worn off/ discolored areas. The metal handbars on waterline tile are rusty/ rough. The buoys on the ropes have algae growth. My 1st visit/eval took exactly 5 minutes. Interestingly the notes described a full physical exam which didn't occur. It was scheduled in the afternoon and apparently she was in a hurry to leave. I was still at the front desk scheduling when I saw her go out the door. (Later I was told this is scheduled and billed for 45 minutes.) My 3rd visit/ 2nd time in pool I was injured and had to miss next 2 visits while recovering. Their notes are accessible online. This one was a copy of the prior visit & described land therapy, though I never had any. It didn't mention my injury. She directed about 6 patients while standing by the pool. She would forget that I had some specific limitations, thus the injury. I changed my next 2 appointments to other therapists & got printouts of pool exercises to do on my own. I didn't want to get in that pool any more. I won't return

Having coped with a damaged knee for 25 years, I always knew the day would come to have it…read morereplaced, so that I could not just continue, but up my game, as a roadie cyclist. I'm going to write a short book here, because it seems to be the only way to communicate how much I appreciate Dr. Hanson, and why. Over the years, I had met with nearly a dozen orthopaedists, gotten relief from various injections, looked at all manner of edge-therapies, had three conservative surgeries on the knee, lived with the outcomes, and eventually was advised to go ahead and get the replacement. Along the way, I observed the bedside manner of all of these doctors, noting that joint-replacement specialists, like many specialists, are, perhaps because of their training and lofty intellect, not as interested in patient communication as are most GP's. Some of them, I think, interact best with patients who are... unconscious. After doing a good deal of asking around, I was lucky to be referred to Dr. Peter Hanson at Grossmont Orthopaedic. His credentials were unbeatable, and his ratings on Yelp and elsewhere were remarkable. So, I timed my appointment with him to also satisfy my desire for a second opinion. My experience with Dr. Hanson at that appointment was so excellent that, although he truly intended only to offer a second opinion, I was nearly ready to ask him to perform the procedure himself. For a leading medical specialist, Dr. Hanson is astonishingly low-key and patient. Very approachable yes, but it's more than that. He's more like my trusted old friend taking care of me. Anyway, after yet another rushed, slightly contentious session with my other (busy, up-and-coming rockstar) specialist, I had had enough and scheduled my surgery instead with Dr. Hanson in January. On surgery day, he was a comfort both before and after the procedure. Now in my 6th week of recovery, I am delighted that I chose Dr. Hanson to perform my surgery. Although the recovery requires substantial effort, physical therapy, and some pain tolerance, my knee gets better each day. In closing, if you are lucky enough to get Peter Hanson as your joint replacement surgeon, you are in exceptionally fine hands. I cannot recommend him to you highly enough.

All three went exceptionally well. According to two different physical therapists, these three joint replacement were each at the very high end of surgical quality and outstanding recovery.
