I drove and parked in front of the branch. I then went inside to see if I could get a working ABM to perform a transaction. This branch has two ABMs. I took the one closest to the window. I inserted my bank card. There were options to deposit and withdraw. Yay! It was clean in the lobby. The sunshine coming in was nice. Hours of operation aren't the best. This branch is closed on weekends. For what I hope is for the week of June 8, 2026 only, It's closed on Mondays and Wednesdays, unless you have an appointment. I haven't paid much attention to this CIBC during past visits to this plaza. I didn't have any banking to do, but I was curious about it yesterday. This branch has traditional banking hours. It's open at 9:30 am and closes at 5 pm most days, except for Saturday when it closes an hour early. I was in front of this bank roughly half an hour before it closed for the weekend. You're out of luck banking here on Sundays. The branch is closed. However, accessing an ATM is always available. When you enter the branch, the two ATMs are on the left. No one was using them yesterday. It was pretty quiet. This CIBC doesn't have a drive-thru. Perhaps one could be developed behind the building if there is demand for it. It's nice to know that there's a CIBC in this plaza. There is lots of parking available. If you do need to speak to a human, you'll need to drop by during normal banking hours. (136)

I decided to check it out on a Saturday afternoon after I had got a haircut at Great Clips and then did some grocery shopping at Walmart. This CIBC has a drive-thru. I used it to check my balance. I don't do a whole lot of banking with CIBC these days, but I do have an account. It was straightforward entering it. Deposits are envelope-free at this ATM. You can withdraw CAD or USD, depending on your needs. It's similar to the CIBC ATMs that are at Pearson International Airport. It's nice that the bank has opened it up to more ATMs that aren't at the airport. This branch is closed on weekends. You can still go into the branch to use the ATMs if you won't want to do the drive-thru. Regular banking hours are from 9:30 am till 5 pm on weekdays. The branch has accessible parking, which allows a wheelchair to go up a shallow ramp to the main doors. There's a button that opens both doors for access into and out of the branch. There is plenty of parking around the building. I parked in the back aisle to take a look at the branch before I left. I'm glad that I took a closer look at this bank. It was nice to not drive away like I normally do. It's good to know that this CIBC exists. (218)

Earlier today, I was walking over to Starbucks from Sunset Grill at Eagles Landing Plaza in Vaughan. This RBC branch was next door to Starbucks. I decided to check it out. The branch closes at 4 pm on Saturday. I had roughly ten minutes left before it closed for the weekend. The branch looked like it was about to close. This branch has three ATMs. Two are in the branch. One is at the drive-thru. I didn't use any of them, as I didn't need to do any transactions. The ones in the branch were operational There was a person in the branch, sitting down, looking at her phone. I couldn't tell if she was a customer or a staff member. She did look bored. The branch hours are decent. It's open at 9:30 am most days, except for Saturdays when it's open at 9am. This branch is closed on Sundays. This branch closes most days at 5 pm. It stays open late on Thursdays until 8 pm and Fridays till 6 pm. As mentioned, it closes at 4 pm on Saturdays. This RBC is wheelchair-accessible. There is a button to open the door. The sidewalk allows you to roll up and down it to get to the branch, which is helpful. It's a decent branch. It was nice getting a brief look at it. (75)

For some reason, I was possessed to park my car in the parking area in front of this branch and walk in to use one of the ABMs. Bad move. I looked at the two signs on the branch's door. There was one sign for ABM hours of operation. I looked at the branches hours of operation. Both were identical. What a bummer. I guess that if you don't have a car and need to use the ABM, you can just walk up to the drive-thru one to do your banking. You just need to exercise caution that you are sharing the drive-thru with vehicles. I got back into my car and hit the drive-thru. It appeared that you have Cantonese support at this branch when it's open, as some of its services were written in both English and Cantonese. I pulled up to the ABM. I would have been sad if the ABM was not operational and I couldn't use any of the ABMs in the branch when it's closed. Luckily, the drive-thru one was working. I have a Tangerine debit card, so I can use it at any Scotiabank to do my banking. I had my bills deposited to my chequing account. Done! It was nice dropping by. It's a shame that you can't use the ABMs in the branch after the bank has closed for the day. At least there's the drive-thru ABM that's available. (270)

Two hours later we notice a debit of $720 entitled 'mortgage payment'. We knew this was an error as we had just paid our mortgage a few days ago, as well, this amount was completely different to our usual payment. We call the Scotia hotline and are told there is nothing they can do, we need to go to the branch. Drive all the way over there to be told 'sorry, its human error. The teller accidentally paid someone's mortgage from your account after you left as the account wasn't logged out of'. Um, what? You're a bank and you can't ensure that you log out of patrons accounts before completing the next transaction. A complete waste of our evening rectifying this. I understand, to an extent, human error, but this is just idiocy and scary to think of how many people get fleeced by such 'errors'

Transactions are free at any Scotiabank. What's cool about this branch is that it has three ABMs. Many Scotiabank locations have two. It's nice to have the extra one. There was a lineup for teller services. I left at around 3 pm. On Saturdays, the branch closes at 4 pm. I like that this branch opens at 9:30 am every day, except for Sunday when it's closed. When the mall and this branch are closed for the day, there's a door outside that is unlocked till 11 pm every night. You can enter this door to use the ABM. The ABM side of this branch was clean. It had a garbage bin next to each ABM, which was a nice touch. I had no issues withdrawing money from the ABM that I used. It was great dropping by this branch. I'd return when I'm back in the area. Naturally, I was curious about this notion and asked my parents if I could have one. My dad banked with TD (Toronto Dominion) well before it became TD Canada Trust. This branch used to be on the southwest corner of Queen Street East and Lee Avenue. It's now a Coles. Oddly, it's shortened these days to TD because it's easier to say. My mom had bank accounts at this Scotiabank. They decided that since my mom stayed at home at the time that I should get an account with Scotiabank from this branch and we could do banking together. It still exists, which makes me happy. My mom and I visited this branch to get a Getting There savings account for me. This program also exists after all these years! If you're under twelve years of age, you need an adult to open an account with you. It gives you high interest as a youth. I saw the magic with compound interest back then. I'm hoping that the magic is still there with this savings account. Back then, it was a paper account book with maple leaves on the cover. Whenever I had enough to deposit $5, we'd go to the bank. I'd fill out a deposit slip and visit a teller who would complete the deposit and print out my new savings account total for me. It was exciting for me as a kid. I had this account all the way through high school. Here's hoping that kids get a bank card and can do deposits at the ABM, with hitting a teller as a last resort. My parents and I moved to Markham. All three of us ended up changing our bank branches and accounts. My parents cancelled their respective accounts from branches in the Beaches and ended up with RBC. I cancelling my savings account here and moved to Winnipeg to open an RBC account. I like Scotiabank. I liked banking here. My mom did, too. I noticed three ABMs when I left Bloomer's to head to my car. The area was clean and had decent lighting. The branch was open for teller services and more. I liked that there weren't any lineups. It's a decent branch if you're looking to do banking while you're shopping at the mall or you want to quickly dash in to use an ABM.
