The neighborhood has definitely quieted down since my childhood days--a time when kids roamed the streets and claimed the ends of culdisacs in numbers on their bikes or rollerblades, both after school and on the weekends. Now however, you won't see much of that. Today the neighborhood is predominantly made up of an older crowd. In fact I don't think I've seen anyone younger than the high school age in the area for some time now, and my parents recently mentioned that they couldn't remember the last time they had a trick-or-treater. So if you're looking to start and/or raise a young family, this probably isn't the ideal neighborhood for you. If you're looking for a quieter more grown scene however, then look no further! As far as the West side of the greater metro Phoenix area goes, the Arrowhead Lakes Estates are by far the best place to call home and everyone knows it. The development offers both lake view properties as well as golf course properties with gorgeous views of the nearby mountains and of course, the lake itself. My experience living here has been on the water, and I wouldn't have it any other way! Who wants to pick up golf balls from your netted yard everyday anyway? The only a downfall to a golf course property. Almost every lake front property has a boat dock to fish off of and accompanying boats to boast which makes sunsets and sunrises all the more beautiful. At Christmas time there is even a light parade open to all who have a boat to participate in. Such a great way to kick off the holiday season! The lake winds around the development--essentially connecting all properties, and even has beautiful waterfalls aligning its path at various stops for your viewing pleasure. All in all, this is a gorgeous place to live, or in my case, get to come home to when I need a break from life.

They also have a lake side campground just on the other side of the road if you prefer lake views The lake is really low water level right now You are just about a mile from the scorpion Bay, Marina and restaurant Ice $7 for a 10 lb bag. Rates for this time of year are about $32/night. Electric and water included.

Our kids had a great time learning hands on and getting to ask questions about the different types of trucks and how they work. So many photo opportunities with different trucks and a wonderful view of Lake Pleasant. The event was free and you only had to pay for parking ($9) which is an amazing price to pay for an activity to do with the kids. I was a bit reluctant to go again since it's not really my thing. The drive was about an hour from Chandler area. I believe we went to the 10 lane boat ramp area which has a pretty wide ramp which made it easy for them to get the boat and jet skis in. It was a super hot day but the water was pretty nice. We were out there at 4pm and didn't get back to the boat ramp until after 8pm. Long enough for me! Some of them tried wakeboarding which looked fun! Unfortunately, due to some joint issue, I wasn't able to try it. It didn't seem super packed that weekend so that was nice. I did kinda wanted to checkout the Marina area but we didn't get to do that.

The park is very family-friendly, with a playground, pickleball courts, a volleyball area, and even two separate dog parks--one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs. Nearby, there's also a community pool and a sports area where you can play games like baseball. They also host festivals throughout the year, and during Christmas, the decorations are especially beautiful and add a nice festive touch. Parking is convenient and free, which is a huge plus. There's also a smaller college located nearby, which adds to the community feel of the area. Overall, it's a well-maintained, welcoming park with something for everyone.

Some people ignore dog size signs which can be dangerous and patrol is very slow to respond. Beautiful area to fish, walk, bbq, huge park for the kids. Plenty of parking, bathrooms are pretty well kept up. We go here daily. We're very fortunate to have such a wonderful park.

I have rented Kayaks from Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch several times over the past few years and have…read morealways had great service and a wonderful experience. Reserving a spot and kayak is easy on the online website. Once you navigate down to the main road to the Guest Ranch, it can be a little confusing as they always have a roadblock as you progress towards the parking lot. Just proceed past the sign to the parking lot ahead. After parking, walk back towards the ranch and check in. Guest services will provide a wrist band as well as a parking pass to place on your dashboard. Once your reservation time is ready, you will be provided a quick orientation of the equipment, navigation of the river and where the staff will pick you up at the end of your float. The staff is always super helpful. Be sure to bring plenty of water and a carabiner to hook on your dry bag or backpack to the kayak. Even though the majority of the river is an easy float, there are some small rapids. You may accidentally flip the kayak if you get caught in a tough spot on the River. This will prevent you from losing your bag! I'm experienced and have flipped once or twice. Depending on the time of year and water flow, the float can take 2 or 3 hours. Beautiful views of the landscape, wildlife including various birds and the gorgeous wild horses! At the end of the float, the staff will load your kayaks and take you back to the Guest Ranch. In the main building, be sure to stop by the gift shop prior or after the float for souvenirs or in case you forgot supplies you may need. They have several items including sunscreen, water shoes, hats, shirts snd much more. I found prices to be reasonable. This is the perfect place to bring out of town visitors. They will love it.

I was pleased that the owner had already done a very thorough inspection of both units and had noted even more flaws/issues than I did. Paperwork was easy - 3 sheets with a few signatures and initials. Pretty typical liability waivers, a brief overview on how not to get yourself killed, etc, etc. Just a heads up though, the credit card hold is $1000 - it wasn't unreasonable but might be a bit of a burden for some people. Rental rates were basically the same as the competitors - slightly higher since we went on a weekend (as I recall, a some other places didn't charge extra for that). But I preferred to pay a little more and go with a place that didn't seem super sketchy - the Yelp reviews and BBB rating put my mind at ease, and the owner was always quick to answer calls. Altogether had a blast at Lake Pleasant! Will rent here again next time I'm in the area and need some high speed entertainment.

By this time all of the front beach spots at the Butcher Jones area were completely taken up by large camping tents. It was tough to squeeze by people to get my stuff on the water. The water was crowded with many different paddle boards, jet skies, boats pulling other water toys. If I return it will likely be on a weekday when school is back In session. Nice lake otherwise. Oh yeah, when I left at around noon, there was no parking down near the beach. That parking lot was packed full. There were cars parked on the side of the road all the way up where you turn into the street driving towards the Butcher Jones area. Appeared to be a LONG walk down too. The FULL signs were posted at the turn off.

Totally worth seeing both when in the area. The drive was beautiful. Water levels are a bit low, but still amazing. The flowers are already in bloom, but will be even better by end of February into March if you'd love to see them. I love poppies but there are so many more flowers also in bloom, to see the best area I'd recommend the area just before Rattlesnake Cove . There is a small trail with roadside parking if lucky. Or can park in the cove parking and small hike back up to area. You do need to pay for a rec pass if parking and spending the day. You can purchase at stores nearby or roadside spots you'll see along the way. Traffic wasn't too bad today but as it warms up and flowers more in bloom be prepared. There is also a restaurant near the boat dock as well.

With nicely maintained roads running out of Cave Creek to the lake it's always a pleasant ride. There is a cafe there if you want to have lunch, which overlooks the lake as well. Every time I am there it makes me want to get a houseboat and ditch city life. One of these days maybe.
