First the service is fantastic, my friend comes a lot so it's so sweet to see the staff members interact with her because it definitely has a cheers like environment. I've never seen it completely full to the point that we can't find a seat. This does seem to be a place that people come read a book and stay for a while. This time I tried the mud/wtr "coffee". It says that it's a different type of coffee that doesn't give you the jitters or crash as caffeine. I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners, so I was a little afraid that it had that as an ingredient, but it isn't sweet at all. I had it mixed with oat milk and served warm and I tried the chai flavor. There's chai and there's Matcha. It was absolutely delicious, I would get it again because it definitely gave me energy and they are right that I didn't feel any jitters. We also got a vegan croissant, which was delicious. It really does taste like an actual croissant and they warm it up for you. Prices here are very good, for such a cute environment. They are not up charging on these drinks. I highly recommend grabbing your coffee from here instead of a chain.

The cheese grits are genuinely write-home-worthy--rich, comforting, perfectly seasoned, and dangerously easy to obsess over. Everything coming out of the kitchen feels intentional and elevated. Pair that with truly excellent service--friendly, attentive, and on point without being overbearing--and you've got a near-perfect coffee shop experience. Now for the asterisk. The cold coffee cup lids. Good lord, the cold coffee cup lids. They are, without exaggeration, the absolute worst lids known to modern civilization. These things are engineered to betray you. Guaranteed drips, spills, and outfit destruction. One wrong sip and suddenly your shirt is baptized in cold brew and the joy from the otherwise outstanding service evaporates instantly. Southern Grounds: please investigate your supply chain. Whoever approved these lids should be sent to the Gulag with haste. That said, I'll still be back. Often.
