I was amazed by the extensive menu at Little Bear--they even had a whole section dedicated to St. Patrick's Day drinks! Of course, Little Bear knows their way around the traditional coffee options, and they have a wide variety of latte flavors and cold brew toppings (where else can you find cookie dough flavored cold foam?) According to the Little Bear website, the Bear Bombs (think: a Starbucks refresher, only ten times more delicious) are really popular. They offer a lineup of permanent flavors, like strawberry or orange, but I opted to try a special-edition spring mix: the tropical bomb. It was a delicious combination of mango and mixed berry, and it was refreshing and flavorful without being too sweet. I am so jealous of the students at ISU who can stop by Little Bear for a morning pick-me-up or an afternoon study session in the adorable dining area! I seriously wish Little Bear would open a location closer to where I live because I would be going there every day (and I would never run out of drinks to try!). Little Bear puts chain coffee shops to shame, and I am so glad that a quick Yelp search brought me to one of my new favorite places!

A little overdue on this and was mindful to write this review before I go back to the Corsair Cafe…read moresomeday. A tiny spot located at the TH Regional Airport, if it not for my quest to weed places like this out, the average person would not know this was here. Off the beaten path for someone not using the actual airport. In addition to the small cafe serving sandwiches, soup, coffees and the like, the Corsair Cafe is packed full of plane paraphernalia, toys, books and gadgets. If you have a kid interested in planes or flying, you need to get over here to fill their Christmas list. Model airplanes, books, bags, t-shirts, games....lots of stuff all about flying. Nick nacks and trinket stuff too. I brought my parents out here for something different. The lunch was OK and reasonably priced. They featured a pull pork sandwich for $5 the day we were there that my dad said was not half bad (a city girl like me was taken back by the low price). We were the only ones in the cafe when we were there. There are Adirondack like, wooden chairs and picnic tables outside to maybe sit, have an ice tea and watch planes come in and out and move about (not sure how much action this airport gets on any given day, I am guessing not a lot). So nothing incredibly unique going on in the food realm hear other than a decent well priced uneventful menu, but a unique atmosphere that if you caught on the right day might be a nice spot to see some plane activity while enjoying a bowl of soup and a lemonade.

It had lavender, bourbon, maybe vanilla, and it had lavender dust. My only critique would be maybe let the cute sharpie quotes on the lids dry before giving them to customers. My date didn't realize the sharpie was wet which resulted in it getting on his nose. I had to stare at that green mark for our 40 minute conversation before I could get the courage to tell him that he had sharpie on his nose. I got a great laugh out of it. I'm not sure that he did though.

Super cute town and super cute coffee shop!…read more I drove 3 hours one way to try this coffee shop out thanks to the Discover Downstate IL app (coffee tour). The coffee shop layout was nice and inside had some cool decor. I love espresso so I ordered the Iced Vietnamese- A delicious blend of Espresso, Sweetened Condensed Milk, and Iced Coffee. I do think it could have used more sweetened condensed milk (personal preference). The staff was great and very friendly. They made up my drink quickly. I do recommend you pop in at least once to order something from here.

I am jaded by my big cities lifestyle, but absolutely celebrate small town charm when I see it. Doing a drive over from Terre Haute to Lincoln Trail Lake, we find ourself in the bustling urban center of Marshall afterwards (kidding about the bustling). Always seeking coffee spots as a place to have a cup, but also to sit and visit, I discover Gypsy Queen Coffee Bar on-line. Reading about the local lore of the history of the Gypsy Queen right after entering the front door, I am taking a breath for this place says "chill, sit, settle in, visit." Table seating, comfy living room like chairs, some outdoor bistro seating out front and lots of space, this place is most welcoming. The worn looking brick inside adds to the overall decorative warmth. Merchandise like mugs, t-shirts and hats, a gelato cooler ready to be scooped out to order, some pre-made/baked items in their cold case from quiche, to empanada like biscuits to a "big salted pretzel," and not to even mention coffee, coffee drinks, tea, bubble tea...this place is excellent in options. We felt welcomed, relaxed, invited. Had an exceptional cup of coffee and a nice visit with my folks while sitting in the big comfy chairs. As my parents enjoy the short drives outside of Terre Haute we often take, I can absolutely see us coming back over here sometime and making sure to stop in to Gypsy Queen Coffee again.
