This spot was a short walk from our vacation rental. We arrived just in time as a line began to form after us. They have A LOT of choices! It's almost overwhelming to decide, because I wanted to try all the things! I didn't see dipped soft serve on the menu (maybe it was there but I just missed it) so I asked the girl at the window. I was so happy they had the cherry dip since I haven't had it in years! I had chocolate soft serve in a cone with the hard cherry dip on the outside. It might not have been the prettiest one I've ever had, but it hit the spot! Everyone else in our party also enjoyed their sundaes and ice cream choices! They have a number of picnic tables and small tables out front and around the side to eat at. They did not have prices listed but it cost just under $20 for a soft serve cone with cherry dip, sundae, and kids cup. Come prepared - this spot is cash only. They do have an ATM, but I'm sure you will be charged fees to use it. FYI - There are no longer mask mandates in NJ, and staff were not wearing masks. read more

While the ice cream is decent, the customer service is far from that. We stood in line and finally reached the front with absolutely no idea how much the various items on the menu cost (no prices on menu or website). When we asked the staff at the window they rudely pointed to an extremely difficult to read sign nested in the back of the room with a few prices noted. Strange. So we then asked for a sample of a flavor that looked interesting and were immediately told "we don't do that". I have been to ice cream places all over the world and have never come across a store that didn't offer samples. Finally got our ice cream and it was close to $7 for a very small cup of ice cream. Came here to get ice cream. This isn't super close to our house but we were getting sick of Marita's. We used to be big Marita's fans but over the years the price has gone up while the portions have gotten ridiculously small. They have a huge menu here with basically every ice cream you could want. Regular ice cream, soft serve, all different types of sundaes. I was excited to see they had cookie butter as an ice cream topping and definitely got that on mine. The ice cream isn't homemade but it was still good. It was busy, but the line moved quickly. The price was about the same as Marita's but you got much more for your money. Scoops is a mediocre ice cream spot in Sea Isle City. I visited twice this summer and was not impressed either time. The hand dipped flavors are standard and are more icy than creamy. They have a large menu, but prices are not listed online or at the storefront. The total seemed to be much higher than expected each time. I am not sure why they do not post pricing, but it would be helpful! Overall, my experience with Scoops left much to be desired and I would recommend other ice cream locations in Sea Isle. read more

Scoops has a wide variety of ice cream which I'm never disappointed by. The prices aren't listed but ice cream for 9 people cost 41.00 which averages to about $4.5 per person (which is a little expensive for the serving size they give). Super happy the order always comes out right and doesn't take long once you've placed the order. Lines don't take too long but the busiest time is definitely Friday or the weekend around 9:00. This was the worst ice cream experience ever. We just waited in line for 40 minutes, only to get melted ice cream, and very little ice cream in our cones. Last night we went to Yum Yums and had a much better experience. The line was longer, but we waited less time and the ice cream and service was much better. I'm staying on 86th st. and would rather travel to Yum Yums, then go back to Scoops. Scoops should close if they can't provide better service and ice cream! read more

So sad to give this place a bad review, especially during COVID. But I went a few days ago and was really not impressed. I got a regular Moose Tracks with whipped cream. Similar to some other reviews here, the ice cream had chunks of ice in it and tasted old and freezer-burned. And there was barely any whipped cream, which I paid extra for. The young cashier was rude as well; she gave us $2 more in change than she should have, so we brought it back and confirmed the price again. She argued with us at first and insisted she was right... but we were trying to be honest and give her her money back so the drawer wouldn't be short. Then she just said "sorry" and took the money back and didn't thank us for returning it. This was after we gave her a $2 tip on an $8 order, which she watched us put into the tip jar and did not thank or acknowledge us. We went at an off-peak time and were one of the only customers there, so I really can't use their business as an excuse for poor service and product. Head over to Marita's or Yum Yum's! read more

After standing in line for 30 minutes on a Monday evening after everyone vacated the island, we had the quite experience. I've been going to scoops practically since I was born and I couldn't believe what I saw tonight. The same cashier collecting money was doubling as the sundae making man. After handling filthy cash, he proceeded to peel up a banana and hold it in his bare hand, cut it up, and then wipe his hands across his dirty shirt. Needless to say, we were grossed out and complained the "manager" who insisted that this doesn't usually happen. Regardless, I will be sticking to the soft serve at Avalon Freeze. read more

One of my favorite ice cream places in SIC. Long lines, but it's worth it. I've never had a bad experience here. They always get my order right and the ice cream is always great. The prices have been going up, but it's understandable because it's one of a few ice cream shops on the island. It's probably the cheapest of the bunch. My friend got the peanut butter Sunday and the soft serve was very good but it didn't have enough ice cream for a medium they put more whip cream and toppings than they did ice cream. Horrible horrible customer service while waiting in line the owner who was a complete b**** and c*** to a ten yr old girl and her older brother about an order error was so rude to them both the poor girl was teary eyed! A middle aged cranky woman making a ten year old customer cry! Wtf? My impression was already negative from this already but when I placed my order the same attitude was given to me from the owner about asking for an empty Togo ice cream cup? It's like .20 cents lady...great customer service to really want ppl to come back. I've worked in customer service and restaurants for over ten years and I have never experienced such horrible customer service until now from this establishment. Please do not go to this ice cream palor while vacationing in sea isle. Maritas and scoop daddy's are much friendlier and the big portions are worth the prices. read more
