Good ice cream but terrible service. The owner is a jerk, his friends must have been behind us, he told the girl at counter who was helping us to, "drop what you are doing and help them" then pointed to the family behind us in line. They arrived after us, waited in line behind us, then were able to leave ahead of us.. This is not a business that I will ever frequent again. I hit the drive thru once a week or so when I get that craving that I just can't curb! I love the fact that they have a drive thru! The owner is pretty much always there working hard! They always serve me with a smile! One time I ordered a large soft serve and water it dipped in chocolate! It kept falling in because it was too big. The owner tried it like 3 times and finally told me he'd just give me a medium and refund the difference! I would have lost my mind but, somehow he kept his cool! Anyway, the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because on more than one occasion the flavor infusion wasn't working! The menu is pretty big too but, I've only had the soft serve and water ice! Everything about this place is great. The first impression is that it's really clean. The tables with umbrellas, the little counters at the windows, the concrete out front - it's all impressively clean. The homemade flavors are tasty. A HUGE "large" cone of the hard ice cream is 3.09 plus tax. A large soft-serve is 2.55 plus tax. The staff of young girls is consistent and nice. I used to go to the Custard Hut, in fact I was a CH customer all the way back to when I was small child, but grew tired of constantly being disappointed in the varying quality, minimal selection, inconsistent sizes, and constantly escalating prices. We've lived in Marmora for 5 years now and have been coming to Custard Castle on and off since then. We've always like their product and have never really had an issue, until now that is. I guess this is what happens when you hire 'kids' to operate your business, but still, we (my wife went and picked it up & brought it home) 2 different cups and both cups, but especially mine, was not even half filled. Yes, we only got the 'child' size because I have lactose issues but I literally had only a few spoonfuls of product in the cup. The cup was not even half filled. Will it stop me from coming back, no, of course not. But I thought the owners should know that maybe they should train the young workers there to at least put a reasonable amount of product in each serving. read more

This is a jersey gem! The custard and ice cream are the best. Get the dipped cones! It's not like the Kohrs Brothers. The chocolate is delicious. Mmmm. This is another spot for me to get my "vanilla with rainbow sprinkles" fix. I really like their vanilla custard here, so I usually stick with it. They do make their own funky flavors though that are very tempting. I tried the purple moose (i think?) once - it was black raspberry ice cream with chunks of white chocolate. I love ice cream so I of course thought that the Custard Castle was a great spot. The location is convenient and the service was great. I asked for moose tracks, which they didn't have but the owner was great and very chatty! The Castle is a hugely popular locals hot spot. It happily caters to all visitors and vacationers too. The quality of the homemade products is noticeably superior. When my children were young, we would go through the Drive-Thru after baths all summer long. The staff is friendly, helpful, and even offer advice about local events, directions, activities.
