Strawberry lemonade with vanilla soft serve

Definitely the spot to go if you want to escape the heat after the beach or just craving a sweet treat! You can test any flavor with a mini spoon too. They serve water ice, soft serves, malt, milkshake, and ice cream. Many different flavors of water ice made in-house. They had GF and Vegan ice cream but nothing really special. For sure try their homemade water ice if you visit!

This place is awesome!!! If you come here in the evening on a weekend, be prepared for a line but it is so worth it. The only downfall would be the amount of options, the amount of times I switched what I was getting was absurd. I ended up with the vanilla sundae with hot caramel, marshmallow sauce, and crushed pretzels. The sizes are insane! Their soft serve is tasty, I wasn't a huge fan of their homemade whipped cream but my ice cream was delicious!

We were looking for a bakery you grab some dessert items. Not being familiar with the area, Google…read more and Yelp were my besties for this mission. We found Formica's and drove over. Very limited parking in the area. By the time we parked and knocked on the door, they were closed. However, (not sure if it was the owner), someone motioned to the side door and let us in. It's a small spot with no seating. But, lots of different sweets. Chocolate covered pretzels, cakes, cookies, homemade snowballs. We got an assortment of items and were on our way. Everything was great. Check them out!

The service was great! There was a sweet lady at the register and we asked about the various cakes that were in the refrigerated case, to which she replied that she baked them. We chose the lemon and vanilla coconut slices. The coconut cake was covered toasted coconut and the layers contained a pineapple filling. The layers were moist and the cake amazing! The lemon cake was not a slice, but a two layer round with lemon cake and filling topped with a lemon mousse. That was amazing as well. They had an assortment of other cakes, cookies, other pastries and bread items. All in all a great place to stop by for a sweet treat while in Atlantic City.

Caesars Atlantic City felt deserted, and Tazza Cafe was the last light left burning. It sits in the lobby like an airport quick service stand that learned a few big words and decided it was sophisticated. The desserts and sandwiches on display looked wonderful, the kind of food you might photograph before reality sets in. The glass case promised a feast for the eyes and a famine for the soul. I ordered a meatball sandwich on toasted ciabatta, a small bag of chips, and a soda. The total was just shy of thirty dollars, which made me nostalgic for a time when that kind of money could buy you hope. The meatballs were dense and flavorless, like someone had wrung all the joy out of them. The sauce was red and nothing more. The bread was there, technically, but it felt like a prop. Each bite filled me up while emptying something else inside me. The two employees behind the counter seemed deeply committed to doing as little as possible. Taking my order was an inconvenience. Serving it was a punishment. They moved with the urgency of people who had already decided that nothing really matters, and perhaps they were right. Tazza Cafe might be fine for a coffee or a pastry. The coffee smelled decent, even at 6 PM. The cakes and pastries looked lovely and harmless. But for anything more substantial, for anything meant to feel like dinner, it is a place best remembered as the only option when there are no options left.

Ever since I saw a piece on The Food Network about Brulee (actually, the executive chef of the restaurant has his own show on the network called "Sugar Rush"), I had wanted to give this place a try. I mean, who wouldn't want to have a three-course dessert? Well, after having gone just once, I'm certainly not going back. After spending $28 (not including a "sharing fee" of around $10) on a Chocolate-Raspberry Jubilation and $15 on a Metropolitan that took the bartender thirty minutes to make*, and dealing with the ridiculously awful service, I was left with a bitter (not cholocate) taste in my mouth. Even the decor, designed by New Yorker Steve Lewis, was a let down. I mean the ambience was nice and all, but the tables, chairs, and even the walls were marked up and scratched -- it was like a bunch of preschoolers were let loose upon the place. If you're at the Tropicana and you feel like having dessert, go to Cuba Libre, or Ri Ra, even...They're a lot less expensive, with better service and better food. But if you have all the time in the world and don't care how much you spend, I guess you could indulge in Brulee's Brownie Extraordinaire which will only run you a cool $1,000! (*When my drink did eventually arrive, after having already eaten the "first course", it was actually quite good -- and it's the only reason this place received a two-star rating.)
