It was my first time trying Scoop Deville and I loved it! I'm glad I stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. I got the cookie monster ice cream which was creamy and yummy! I would get the ice cream again and again. Other items I got were the oreo cookie and the hot chocolate with oreo pieces and whipped cream. The cookie was hot and soft and the hot chocolate was flavorful. The oreo made the taste even more delicious! The service was great. Everyone was nice and the desserts came out at a reasonable time. read more

This place has central location and was open late at night, but thats just about it; you can rarely go so wrong with ice cream, but this place manages it. They got my order wrong, made no offer to fix it and claimed that they had it down correct (no, I did not order gummy bears or M&Ms in my chocolate ice cream, but there they were). read more

This place is craaaaaaazy. First there are the 8 menus filled to the brim with both possible combinations. After you realize that no matter what you order, it's going to be a sweet, gooey, delicious mess anyway. Just dive in and order what everyone else is ordering even if you can't read the menu in time to make a complete decision. Great spot! I don't know if the ice cream layered with fudge layered with ice cream works unless it's frozen solid, but they sure do give it a damn good try! Def worth at least one attempt!! read more

Hey y'all, weather is warming up! And you know what that means! Ice cream! Scoop Deville was such a nice little surprise for me! Thursday (today) around 3:30 I was heading for the Patco from the Italian Market, and this place caught my eye as I was passing by with its splash-of-pink sign. I decided to treat myself before taking a rush hour train home and dipped in here for a quick, single scoop of birthday cake ice cream. Very glad I did! *The employees (two men) were super on top of everything, working really efficiently with each other and taking time to immediately greet everyone who walked in. So the customer service was two thumbs up. *The ice cream was creamy, thick, authentic. I savored the hell out of it on this sunny, 71° Philadelphia afternoon! It really hit the spot. I sat inside, and it's a pretty small spot, but there's a couple of outdoor tables. Though I played it safe today, anyone who wants to take a fun little "ice cream adventure" (maybe with the kids? Or a date day?) should pop in here. They make shakes and special sundaes (one based off Girl Scout Samoa cookies if that's your thing!), and they have desserts ranging from cookies to cupcakes, to pie, water ice, personal cakes, and more. Rethink Coldstone and try Scoop Deville instead! read more

Walking around Philly on a Nice Saturday spring night and we see Scoop Deville with a ton of folks in line so we obviously jump in line ourselves . Flavors look interesting with different blends, sundaes, milkshakes etc. We go with the molten lava for a good chocolate fix and some oreo sundae mixture (The Dirtiest Oreo) with blue cookie monster ice cream, whipped cream, oreos, fudge, and a brownie. Good stuff...not your typical ice cream shop so it keeps things interesting. read more

tl;dr a hip ice creamery in Washington Square West that surprisingly hosts the best happy hour in the city After having lived in Philly for 5 years, I frequently get asked for restaurant recommendations, so "What's your favorite happy hour spot?" is a common inquiry. While these individuals are almost certainly asking about a cheap spot for a drink at 5PM, my favorite happy hour doesn't serve any alcohol. Or even savory food for that matter. No -- my favorite happy hour is Scoop Deville. Monday through Friday 5PM-7PM, they ask a paltry $4 for any size of their unbeatable ice cream concoctions. Located just a few blocks west of Washington Square Park, Scoop Deville can feel like trek if you're walking from Rittenhouse. But their cute spot is already a means for going out of your way. The walls are decorated with sugar-themed murals, and the tables sport a ripped-magazine art pattern. The space is long, with just a few spots for seating -- perfect for a rush hour. And if you are wondering whether an ice creamery could ever draw a crowd to make the design worthwhile, then come at 9PM in the summer to see the line straying out the front door (even on weeknights). And I haven't even gotten to the food. Scoop Deville is known for churning out some adventurous ice cream flavors -- think a bright-green mint-brownie blend in celebration of the Eagles' Super Bowl appearance, and black charcoal vanilla for the Game of Thrones final season. With these in mind, the list of suggested blends is on the tamer side, opting for classic flavors and wide variety mix-ins. But if you ask, the staff are more than happy to customize a suggested blend toward your palate. The ice cream is always high quality, focusing on a light creaminess with rich notes. There's a reason I make a point of going all the way over to this establishment from Rittenhouse -- besides maybe Franklin Fountain (which costs twice as much and is a whole other experience entirely), Scoop Deville is the best dessert spot in the city. read more

Chocolate milk shake was very good. Should circle back here if I'm looking for ice cream cakes.

Overall, disappointing. I have never really had a bad ice cream experience before--even fast food restaurants can do a decent soft serve. But with this place, almost everything that could be wrong was wrong. I wanted to sample the cookie batter ice cream before buying since I was worried it might be too sweet. Instead of saying they don't offer samples, the employees told me I had to ask the manager, who promptly said no. This indicates to me that the employees get a lot of requests and don't want to deal with customers being upset about it. From what I read, they stopped during the pandemic and never re-started. With how complicated the menu is and the high price of the ice cream, a sample or two would help ensure customers are satisfied. We ended up ordering a s'moreo specialty without fluff and a mango strawberry dole whip. The manager asked me if I wanted a cup or cone, but he neglected to say there was an up-charge for the cone. Many ice cream places offer a cone or a cup option for free, but when an establishment deviates from that and up-sells, they should make that clear. When I got the s'moreo, it had fluff, and it came sickeningly sweet with all the different mix-in's pulverized together, rather than, ya know, mixed. This process was never clearly explained, and after the fact, the management tried to say that they are creating new ice cream flavors, and if that's their business model, fine--just explain that upfront. I gladly would have gone somewhere else or ordered a sundae had I known that their approach to creating new flavors was a blender. I cannot stress this enough--the sugar levels are off the chart. If they're truly creating new flavors, they should be able to control the sweetness and not have ice cream that tastes like processed candy. The strawberry mango dole whip was worse than the ice cream. It just tasted like syrup, and even the cup was sticky. The employee, at least, was kind and replaced my ice cream, but we didn't want to make them replace the milkshake since it was what we ordered--it was just awful. This was the most processed thing we could have had. It was just sugary frozen syrup without any flavor nuance. Also, as soon as I paid with my credit card, I got a text message from the store without ever giving them my number. The texts informed me that I was automatically entered into the loyalty program and that felt horribly invasive. Individual establishments who use Square choose whether or not they spam everyone who pays with a credit card. Don't even get me started on the decor. The loud colors, complicated menu, and bright lights have no stylistic coherence, and are generally uninviting. They're just a sensory assault. It looks like Barbie crashed her pink corvette into a gum ball machine while on an LSD bender. Maybe they're trying to appeal to a child audience, but then why be open at 11pm? If you want overly sweet ice cream that tastes like processed candy, accompanied by invasive texts, and a complicated menu, this is your place, but if you want quality ice cream, go elsewhere--anywhere else. read more

Ice cream was decent but I've been here twice and had the same experience. I wanted to give it a second try before writing a review. Both times I went with my girlfriend and there was barely any line and it took ~15 minutes for them to get to our orders. Both times they got my girlfriends order wrong which literally just mint choco chip with chocolate sprinkles (both times got the topping wrong but we didn't want to wait forever so we didn't say anything). Highly suggest just going to kilwins down the street. read more

I ordered 2 açaí bowls online for delivery earlier today and upon receiving them first noticed that there was a long strand of blond hair. Second, the fruit was VERY questionable, looked old and both orders were missing a topping (Nutella). Honestly if I'm paying the outrageous price of $18 for an açaí bowl that is watered down and with hair I should hope that at least they'd write on the bag that they didn't have something. But no, instead I'm reminded of what toppings and fruit I ordered written in the lid and get to compare to what I didn't get. my friend, janel, spontaneously asked me to join her for a walk to center city. she was going to get her eyebrows done. i was super duper stressed. it was the weekend before finals week, and i had to finish my design 3 project, write an eight-page paper for art history, and study matrices for math 101. despite my great list of things to do, i said yes! i was feeling really frustrated, and i was in a bad mindset for doing work. on our walk back from janel's brow appointment, we saw scoop deville! we had never gone inside, but we wanted to try it out. it was hot outside, and we wanted a sweet, cold treat! we decided we would share an icecream. we tried out the the smores brownie sundae. it was really good! we quite enjoyed it. the serving size was pretty big, so it was perfect for the two of us to share. the only thing was that it got insanely sweet. we were dying, and would not have made it alive without purchasing water from them. additionally, the brownie was stuck to the bottom of the dish, so it was difficult to scoop out and eat. other than that, the sundae was really awesome! while we ate the ice cream, we spilled tea, talked about our friends, and planned out what we would do when we flew back home for the summer. the atmosphere is nice! super cute. it was just a little cramped, and difficult to wait in line/ grab a seat without bumping into people. I'm really happy i went on the walk, and ate here with janel. it was the perfect break i needed. when i got back from the walk, i hustled and got my eight page-paper done, as well as painted my design final. i was super productive. read more

Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt, and Non Dairy.Desserts. They also have baked goods, cocolste covered bananas, cakes, and chocolates. Wbo can resist a cool treat as Summer approaches? The place is colorful and with cheery decor. I picked something from the less than 250 calories menu: Golden Strawberry Cheesecake vanilla yogurt, cream cheese, strawberies, and Golden Grahams cereal. It took a few minutes to blend the ingredients but worth the calories. I have tried dairy-free yogurt so I was a little relunctant to try the dairy-free treats. I was pretty disappointed with this place. I was looking forward to it for quite some time too. I first walked in and was having a private conversation and one of the workers thought it'd be best so share his personal opinion. When it came to ordering, he also overheard our conversation and began to defend items on the menu. Found it to be classless and unprofessional. Besides this occurrence, I found the ice cream to be extremely average. I ordered a small strawberry shortcake and it did not taste as such. Other members in my party did not enjoy their ice creams either. However, they did maintain a clean area and provided hand sanitizers which I liked, especially during times like these. read more

A place I somehow never tried when I was in college! I got the strawberry cheesecake soft serve and it was piled high with whipped cream and cookie crumbles. Based on the description I expected chunky strawberry pieces but it seemed like the strawberries are blended into the ice cream so it's strawberry soft serve. It was pretty good, but super sweet. I tried some of my friend's intense Oreo ice cream (I forget the exact name but it was so full of Oreo that it was black) and I enjoyed it, as well as my other friend's pb & Oreo froyo (I actually couldn't believe it was under 250 calories)! read more

This place was very busy around 10pm so I thought they had it under control, but the line system was interesting. There was a pick-up window outside with a sign that directed people to pick their ice cream up there, but there was a line indoors where people were just hanging out waiting for their ice cream there. Then I went to order 1 medium cup (2 scoops included). I even asked and clarified about how many scoops a small and medium consisted of and I asked for 2 scoops (1 of the cookie monster and 1 of the cinnamon crunch ice cream). After waiting an oddly long time for scoops of ice creams even for other people, they called out "cookie monster" and my boyfriend and I were confused because it had seemed like that was our order and no one was claiming it. They gave us 2 medium cups. 1 cup with 2 scoops of the blue ice cream and another with the latter. It was way too much ice cream than we wanted and that made a lot more sense why a "medium" was a whopping $13. At first I thought this place was so expensive that 2 scoops of ice cream was $13 but there was a communication error and even then the workers didn't want to try and solve that. They just gave us 2 medium cups and we were like "okay". No refunds on the overcharge or an apology. But at least we left with more ice cream....than we wanted...? I wish they also had prices on their menus for the ice cream because it seems chaotic in there already with the amount of customers that not knowing how much you're paying for the ice cream you're getting is confusing. read more

Excellent! when I visit Philly I always check y'all out. 10 out of 10 every time . The service is great and yall never miss a beat!

Get delivery from here a lot. Always amazing and really inexpensive. I get banana and Nutella soft serve. Cannot recommend enough

(Takeout order via Snackpass) Simple system -- you can pick-up online orders through a window outside. My Oreo Mudslide ($5.94) melted on my walk back home and later refroze. Even so, the icecream was solid (in terms of taste but also state of matter). Tinged w coffee, textured w crumbled Oreo, and sweetened by a fudge sauce offered on the side. Wahhhhhhhhhhh. I want to cry! I've been craving ice cream for over a week, but I've been a good girl and stuck to my diet and wallet. Today, when my center city happy hour plans were suddenly squashed, I decided I deserved a good ice cream and immediately took to Yelp. I'm really disappointed. Scoop DeVille is in a great location. When you walk it, it's got the initial feeling of a cutesy Wonka-esque candy shop, but behind the counter, it's appears kind of dingy and unorganized. There were about three staff working. One was such a doll, but she seemed to be the only one actually doing her job. The other two continued engaging I conversation like I didn't exist. The concept is similar to a Cold Stone, you pick a flavor of ice cream and the toppings you like, and it's all mixed together. They have lots of options ranging from vegan and low cal to popular suggested mix-ups. Additionally, Monday through Friday 5-7 is Happy Hour. You can pick any size of the suggested mixes for $4, which is a steal considering a normal small starts at $5. There are loads of different toppings and flavors. It's overwhelming really. I was really excited on my Abbey Road - vanilla ice cream mixed with Oreos, graham crackers, and Nutella, topped with marshmallow cream and golden crisp cereal. The sweet girl making my ice cream was not wearing gloves and was touching the toppings with her bare hands. I decided to look past this because I really wanted that ice cream. When I got my ice cream, it was pretty, but when I actually dug it, it was soupy. Cold, but completely melted, the consistency of a watery milkshake. I realized they had mixed the ingredients in a milkshake maker and not by hand like i thought. It was tasty, but terribly messy to eat with a spoon and simply not the consistency of the ice cream I was expecting. Let's just say, I'm glad I doesn't come on a cone. It should come in a cup with a straw. Thankfully, I only paid $4 and some change. I'm in absolutely no hurry to go back here, and I don't see this place doing well if that's the kind of product they're selling. read more

I came across an NBC10 post on Facebook about Scoop Deville's "Nick Foles ice cream" (kelly green mint ice cream with brownie chunks, scooter crunch and green sprinkles) -- and I knew I HAD to have it! So much so that I made a half hour trip to Philly for it. I reached out to Scoop Deville via Facebook to see if I would be able to purchase a quart size for an Eagles party tomorrow, and they were able to accommodate me (even though I'm sure it was a popular option after the news coverage). That was much appreciated. While I LOVE the combination of flavors and the idea of the ice cream... it just didn't taste that great. It's just too minty. I didn't tell my boyfriend my opinion, he tried it, and said the exact same thing. Great idea, not-so-great execution. I'd love to come back here, as their other ice cream selection looks amazing! I definitely want to try their ice cream cookie sandwiches and chocolate covered bananas! read more

Ordered two vegan milkshakes from this location. On delivery apps, it's under the name "Sweet Vegan" but the same address. When I've ordered from the South St. location, the shakes were creamy and delicious. From here, it tasted more like a chocolate smoothie, made with thin liquid and water/ice. Strawberry was slightly better than the chocolate, but both pretty similar. read more

Really cute interior with so much variety of cakes and mini desserts. We got the partially baked cookie sundaes to go because they were not offering indoor seating at the time. It's more money to get the sundaes to go because the Plastic 'to-go souvenir mug' costs almost $5 extra. We asked if we can get it without the mug and they said no. I don't know why they couldn't put it in their regular plastic ice cream cups. Also they only offered regular flimsy plastic spoons, that were not long enough to cut through all the layers of the sundae. I couldn't get to the bottom cookie dough layer at all until I ate most of my ice cream. So I was pretty disappointed with their to-go methods. That being said, the ice cream itself was very good! I got the partially baked cookie classic chocolate chip sundae and subbed it with coffee ice cream instead of vanilla. Very good! The fudge is nice and thick. The presentation was awesome and I liked how there were cookie crumbles on top. I didn't enjoy the cookie dough layer as much. I expected it to be partially baked but it was just regular cookie dough. Although that's my personal preference. If you enjoy eating straight cookie dough, you'll definitely like this sundae. Next time, I will definitely try the brownie sundaes! read more

Their vegan flavors and huge variety of options for toppings and add ons are the best! I love that I can get fruit swirled into the ice cream without it having to be a milkshake. I recommend sticking to the flavors of the day over getting the soft serve. I like the seasonal options (pecan pie, pumpkin pie) blends but the vegan vanilla soft serve didn't have enough flavor for me. My friend did however love the regular vanilla ice cream! With so many options, I'm sure you'll find something to suit your taste! read more

I'm sure this will taste great when I get home. I just didn't like that when I went to purchase a blonde, the young lady at the counter said, "tip"? A tip for giving me a brownie? I have never seen in all the times I have tipped, have someone be so bold. I tipped, but I probably should not have. I hope this high priced ice cream treat is worth it. Owner was very nice to me with refund. Ok, maybe I could be more understanding. The food business isn't easy. read more

After getting dinner, we got some ice cream nearby. Honestly didn't expect much but it was better than expected! You can customize your own soft serve ice cream with whatever toppings you want within them - in a way, it's similar to cold stone but I think this place is a bit better. There's also a ton of regular ice cream flavors if you want that. Their menu is quite large so it can be a little intimidating but it's all good. It's tasty! I am such a fan of Scoop DeVille. My go-to location is at The Bourse, but my husband ordered a birthday cake for me from this location (the mint chip one - everyone loved it) in August, and I also popped in while I was in the area earlier this week. Scoop is known for their blends but I am all about the hard ice cream. The flavors rotate all the time and they are often very Philly-centric which is so fun. I ordered a pint of dough boi and the young guy who took my order absolutely stuffed that pint to the brim! This location didn't seem to have as much variety in terms of desserts and ice cream flavors, but perhaps it was just the timing of my visit. I did notice that they had loads of ice cream cakes ready for the taking so this is a great spot to get a gourmet ice cream cake that will beat out any grocery store option. read more
