Love the food! So far the chicken and rice dish is excellent! I love their beet salad and the fried lentils app. The carrot dessert is very different but I enjoyed it. They also do community dinners - they did one for Christmas (I think it was free for those who needed it) I would like to start volunteering with them inn2026, just need to find out how! Checked this spot out with my friend yesterday after looking up reviews from Yelpies. So disappointed. As we walked up we were greeted with a closed gate and signs that read dinner served 5-9. There isn't anything on Yelp with that information. I just now looked up hours on actual website and the hours are updated there. Please update your hours on Yelp! Came here with a "Too Good to Go" lunch order. My parents ended up ordering some items for dinner for later. The smells of Indian seasonings permeate the air. It smelled wonderful. I got the chicken biryanis, samosas and a salad in my lunch that came with roti, flan and a lemon drink. All were well seasoned and tasty. The best part of this restaurant is how they care for their community and feed those that would otherwise go without. The gentleman that served us (possibly the owner) was sweet and excited to share the different options and sauces available. We will certainly be back to donate another meal and come for the family meal special with cones with plenty of food! read more

SciEats in the College area near SDSU is a non-profit eatery based on a combination of science and culinary concepts. It replaced a previous business that specialized in samosas. The interior decor of the suite was minimal with posters of different items and not much else. The seating capacity was sufficient for about 50 customers. The menu featured a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian Indian cuisines across three different pages. I ordered the Shakshuka, Chicken Lollipops, and a Mango Lassi for my meal. The first item was listed on the Brunch menu, however the kitchen was able to accommodate the request during my mid-afternoon visit. Two poached eggs were served on top of a spicy tomato and bell pepper sauce with garlic and cumin. A couple of pieces of toast were provided on the side to help sop up the savory sauce. For the $8.99 price, the portion size was a great value. The mango drink blended with house made yogurt was next brought to my table. It cost only $2.25, but the cup wasn't filled to the top. The sweetness was also not up to the standard that I have tasted elsewhere. Three spicy marinated chicken drumettes were baked and served with a cup of tamarind and a cup of red pepper sauce. The item took quite a long time to be prepared which I thought was unusual. A fourth drumette would have been reasonable for the price. Perhaps due to the wait for the chicken lollipops, a set of Russian Pancakes were given to me compliments of the house. Two thin crepes comprised of flour and milk whey were folded into a triangular shape. A cup of blueberry compote was provided for dipping. This was a nice way to finish my lunch with a dessert-like product that wasn't too sweet. While there were ups and downs, I still rounded my rating of SciEats to a four star level. read more

The chickpea flour snack is tasty and has a nice texture that you'd never even know that it was gluten free. I tried this place through another app and I was not disappointed. The food was cooked fresh while I waited. It was all delicious and a wide variety for such a good deal. Tried this via a To Good To Go offer. We were so disappointed. Received chicken tikka masala over rice, samosas, and salad with beets, mung beans, and other ingredients. The chicken was dry and *hard* as if it had been overcooked or perhaps sitting out for too long. The sauce was good. The samosas were filled with a vegetable mash that was gummy and almost bland. The outside fried dough) was fine. The salad was tasty and the dressing was good but there were two hard stones in the salad. I crunched hard on one of the stones (before I knew it was there, of course) and could easily have cracked a tooth on the stone. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The location was difficult. It's inside a church complex on 30th St. in North Park where the City has severely reduced parking; not the restaurant's fault. We had to park about two long blocks away. Also, the entrance is down a flight of stairs, so it is not accessible to people with mobility limitations. We would not return. Giving two stars because we love the concept, but if it were an ordinary restaurant, we'd give the minimum possible of one star. read more

A very nice couple runs this place. It has very interesting healthy food. The service is fine. The ambience could be a bit better for example than if you eat in, there's a bright sun coming in the west window and you need to position yourself so you're not looking into it.
