The room itself was very comfortable and the bed was fantastic. The decor is simple and modern and everything was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well thought out, with nice toiletries and a really deep bath, which made for an excellent relaxing soak after I went for a run. There are also a few other nice touches like herbal tea bags, and bottles of water in the little fridge. The owner/manager was really superb, he told me the best route for my run, and sorted out my meals (vegan and wheat free), with no fuss or hassle at all. For dinner, I had roasted veg in a tomato sauce, and for breakfast I had a fruit platter and some porridge. The breakfast isn't buffet style, so everything is prepared fresh, and the fruit was the best I have had in a hotel for a long time, in fact probably ever. Deliciously fresh melon, apple, pear, grape and pineapple. I would definitely stay here again.

Dogs are allowed everywhere in the hotel including the restaurant! Everyone is dog mad and our dog was told she was beautiful many, many times. Sitting at the bar enjoying a drink, dog gets a bowl of water, this isn't the welcome you normally get. It would've been nice, though, if we were directed to the nearest places out dog could toilet when we checked in. (Overnight) if you are a light sleeper, do not take one of the rooms facing the seafront in summer. The road is used constantly and with the windows open it makes it difficult to sleep, but the view is worth it for those of us who are willing to make the sacrifice. As an older hotel, the walls are thin and you can hear people stomping in the corridor. The tea/coffee set to is good, includes bottled water. The bathroom small but functional although it did take me awhile to figure out his to turn the shower on. I would still come back here again.

I happened to walk up to the front door as the same time as the owner or manager, good timing and he gave me our room key early and instructions. He was so polite and helpful! We asked him about parking and laundromat recommendations, and he was more than happy to assist. He did warn us that the boiler in the building broke and the water would be out til at least 5pm (ended up being 7p but that is ok, we were not bothered by that). They had a plumber working on it when we got back from dinner, and the owner communicated with us about the situation very well. He also brought us some fresh towels and asked us if we needed anything. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. The room was super clean (very important). The room and especially the bathroom are super tiny but there was a mini fridge, tea pot, tea and coffee, ironing board and iron. Can't complain. Location was exactly where we wanted to be. We were pleased with our stay.

The owners, Steve and Vicky, run an immaculate B&B and obviously care about the comfort of their guests. I found them both to be professional and very responsive. We were given a choice of two rooms and chose one that had purple flowers(asters?) on the wallpaper, the bigger room of the two but with the smaller bathroom. The bathroom was indeed small but so spotless you could eat off the floor. It was so smart to Senlac to have dispensers for soap, conditioner and shampoo and I appreciated the bottle of body lotion. The bed, smaller by American standards and standard to British, did not make for the best nights sleep for my bear of a boyfriend and me. We ran into unusually cold weather and unfortunately, only asked for an extra blanket the last night The owners obliged and also told us they would fix the thermostat so the heat kicked in sooner. That's service!. We only regretted not telling them sooner. For a fee additional to the room rate, the Senlac provides breakfast. I did not rate that as we wanted to try the local eateries and most times we woke up too late as breakfast was served from 7 Am to 8:30 AM. A mini refrigerator is provided in the room as is free WIFI.

There was ash all over it, with butts on the ledge. Then we noticed the sofa the top of it had been used as an ash tray, the seats were ripped, with holes and dodgy looking stains on it and again sprinkled with ash. There was a blood stain on the wall too! We went to reception to complain to the apparent manager, as there was no phone in the room, who informed us they were fully booked so we could not be moved and there were no cleaners either as it was late. We tried to find alternative accommodation but to no avail. We then noticed on the bathroom doorframe there was like blue tac stuck to it, with body hair pressed into it, there was also body hair in the bath too, plus hair in the bed. We were disgusted and hardly slept a wink all night. The tv didn't work, the remote was under the bed, the mirrors were filthy and the main one cracked! I took photos of everything. We had paid for breakfast in advance and were dreading this, but to give them credit it wasn't too bad and the staff member was friendly. On check out I said I wanted to complain and was told to contact customer services on the website which I did. After about 12 days I was given a full refund with the admisson they'd failed to maintain their high standards! I won't be staying in another Travelodge again that's for sure! Parking on the road outside is free, should anyone want to stay here!
