Our suite was so peaceful & equipped with anything we might need. Absolutely would stay here again anytime. Lots of things within walking distance.

The location is great; very short walk into the center of town. There were a total of 3 heaters in the room (1 of which is in the bathroom). It was very chilly when I arrived, and it was so nice to thaw out in a warm space. My room - the Victoria - was quite spacious and had very lovely artwork along the walls. Cute little couch, too. There is a small "lounge" with a computer and mini fridge. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. Wi-fi is available in the lounge, but the owner said it's availability in the rooms varied depending on location in the house. Our connection was pretty good on the ground floor. We had stayed 3 days at a neighboring B&B (Number One Guest House) and the difference was night & day. Churchill was superior in every way. Bit more expensive, but worth it. The reason for 3 stars is simply the bed. All I felt were the metal springs. So uncomfortable, creaky, and sloping toward the center. Whether an establishment is a hotel, B&B, guesthouse, etc. I feel the most important aspect is the bed. We're here to spend the night, yes? Then let's not keep using mattresses when they are years past their expiration date. Maybe the beds in the other rooms were better? I can only hope. Note on payment: Their website says Paypal is accepted, but upon arrival we were told cash only. Check out time is 10AM. Overall, I would recommend, but check the mattress before committing to a room. If they do upgrade the beds, I'd be happy to come back and update my rating to 5 stars :)

I happened to walk up to the front door as the same time as the owner or manager, good timing and he gave me our room key early and instructions. He was so polite and helpful! We asked him about parking and laundromat recommendations, and he was more than happy to assist. He did warn us that the boiler in the building broke and the water would be out til at least 5pm (ended up being 7p but that is ok, we were not bothered by that). They had a plumber working on it when we got back from dinner, and the owner communicated with us about the situation very well. He also brought us some fresh towels and asked us if we needed anything. We felt very welcomed and comfortable. The room was super clean (very important). The room and especially the bathroom are super tiny but there was a mini fridge, tea pot, tea and coffee, ironing board and iron. Can't complain. Location was exactly where we wanted to be. We were pleased with our stay.

Located just 5 minutes from the…read moretrain station and convenient to the town and within short walking distance to the Old Town, this B&B is located in a street chock full of other small B&B's. The owners, Steve and Vicky, run an immaculate B&B and obviously care about the comfort of their guests. I found them both to be professional and very responsive. We were given a choice of two rooms and chose one that had purple flowers(asters?) on the wallpaper, the bigger room of the two but with the smaller bathroom. The bathroom was indeed small but so spotless you could eat off the floor. It was so smart to Senlac to have dispensers for soap, conditioner and shampoo and I appreciated the bottle of body lotion. The bed, smaller by American standards and standard to British, did not make for the best nights sleep for my bear of a boyfriend and me. We ran into unusually cold weather and unfortunately, only asked for an extra blanket the last night The owners obliged and also told us they would fix the thermostat so the heat kicked in sooner. That's service!. We only regretted not telling them sooner. For a fee additional to the room rate, the Senlac provides breakfast. I did not rate that as we wanted to try the local eateries and most times we woke up too late as breakfast was served from 7 Am to 8:30 AM. A mini refrigerator is provided in the room as is free WIFI.
