I stayed here for 5 nights. I stayed in a double room on the 3rd floor for 3 nights, and a single for 2 nights (only reason because it was cheaper).
The double room is nice, has fresh towels and complimentary toiletries in the en suite. TV with good signal and a set of drawers. The decor is a little more updated than the rest of the hotel. The bed is comfortable and everywhere is clean. Brilliant!
The single room - Doesn't have an en suite, it just has a sink. Which I found rather odd! instead there is a shared bathroom down the hall which is small and doesn't really have a light (it does but it's more like a night light). The wallpaper was hanging off above the bed, and the carpet needed vacuuming. There was a lot of hair on the floor, my toes got tangled in it... I thought chewbacca was the last customer! Haha but other than that, the room was fine.
The rooms themselves are quite small, but it's enough if all you are doing is sleeping there and going out for the day.
Both rooms supply you with enough tea/coffee/hot choc to last at least 2 nights! And refill them each day even if you did use it all!
But where this hotel shines, is it's breakfast!!
Each morning, come downstairs, sit at the table that is designated to your room and breakfast is included in the price! There's a lot to choose from, I had cereal, 4 slices of white toast (with selection of condiments), Apple juice, pot of tea (enough for 3 cups) and a full English... Yes I know... That's a big breakfast! I'm not ashamed! The full English is amazing! Best I've had!
The staff are really nice and friendly, approachable with any questions you may have.
I would happily stay here again, but there is a big difference in quality between single rooms and double rooms. So I'd stay in the double! especially when there isn't much of a price difference. read more
