I'm surprised by the poor reviews. Amy Tank is the PA who's been working with me for years at Schweiger Dermatology Group, and I can't recommend her enough! I've been seeing Amy for YEARS for my acne (I used to see her at the Hackensack location when I lived in Bergen County - I have a review of that location too!), but my skin has improved so much that I'm really just going to her every 6 months for acne scar management and to renew my prescriptions. I'm usually in and out of the office within 10 minutes, but not because Amy rushes me. I'm just overall very happy with the regimen she's prescribed to me and I don't have other concerns to address. It's also a bonus that I'm in and out so quickly! It means I hardly wait in the waiting room after I check in. I owe all of my skin progress to her and her recommendations of a skincare routine that has really worked wonders for me! read more

Here it is, NINE MONTHS LATER ~ and after Schweiger billing department OVERBILLED my insurance company, no one EVER sent me a bill for the difference... UNTIL they decided to send ALL OF MY INFORMATION to a collections agency!!! ??? Pretty sure this is a HIPAA violation! Upon contacting my insurance agent and the CA officer, it turns out that it is simply my deductible ~ BUT ~ why was I never EVER contacted from billing or ANYONE ? serious GROSS negligence ~ HORRIBLE communication ~ insulting ~ violating! This organization is a huge bureaucracy. I am not rating any of the providers themselves poorly, but the entire organization. Like all consolidated and professionally managed practices, the providers are on the clock and need to see a specific number of patients each day. The telephone is answered by a robot and then forwarded to patient reps. It takes five to seven business days to obtain medical records. read more

I paid by check in Hillsborough & it was electronically processed through my account the next day. Then, 13 days later, they presented the same check to my bank & they were paid again! This was my first time going to this practice and I saw a PA (Gabriella Melahn). I was very excited to see the range of appointment times and days. With my old dermatologist, it was always very difficult to find appointments that worked with my working schedule and they were often very far out. I was able to get an appointment with Gabriella within 24 hours and only waited for ~5 min before being seen. I was in and out super quickly (not rushed at all) and she addressed my needs right away. I would give this place 0 stars if possible. They charged me co pays on multiple visits when I do not have co payments. When I reached out and provided proof of this they don't answer. It has been two months and it is still under review. No one follows up to give me updates I have had to reach out every time myself. I provided everything they would need to review this and they still just say it's under review. This has been going on for 2 months and it is still not resolved. By far the worst customer support. I reached out for a follow up and 2 weeks has gone by and they still haven't answered. Stay away from this place. read more

When I went in for my appointment about dry skin, post cancerous lesions and this area on my head that was not healing. When I came in there they didn't ask me to update any of my information but they were gladly to take my credit card and my health card. When I went in the back they froze a area on my back and on my face. They gave me some free cream for some eczema. My major concern was about this area on my scalp in the back of my head into areas that wasn't healing from an injury I had when I was younger and what would happen is, it would scab over and be very itchy and then bleed again. A medical issue I've had other dermatologists look at and they've done freezing and zapping it with an electric prod. They came back to me and said this isn't covered underneath my insurance and it will cost me $500. I said well if there's no other way of fixing this I guess do that but my other insurance companies and my other dermatologist never charged me this before. When I left there I felt like I was bent over and raped by the amount of money they charge me for this procedure that they claim was cosmetic and not insured. I asked for a receipt and they said they sent it to me and she said she emailed it to me. I said I have my phone right now and it didn't come to the spam and didn't come to me for this charge. They could not email that to me with my new email address which is suspicious. They emailed it to my very old email from two years prior when I had an account with my ex wife and never asked me to update my current information. They got my new mailing address though but they didn't get my new email address from me. After talking with people about this dermatologist they have told me to call my insurance company to inquire about this procedure that's not medical but cosmetic they claim. My insurance company said that it would be covered underneath my insurance and they overcharge me $385.75. I also called my credit card company to block their payment completely because of this issue. I called the dermatologist today to clarify what they did was wrong and shady because they went and asked me for $500 but the insurance company paid $115.25. So where is the $500 not covered underneath my insurance? They paid $115.25 for when I was there and my insurance company says they should never charge me anything over that. If that's the case they should charge me $115.25 and $500 with a cosmetic but in reality I see who they really are. LIARS!!! They are a bunch of scammers and they pocketing the money over something that they know they won't be making money on if they go to the insurance company. Shady!!! read more

First visit, saw Amy Tank and she was great. Got in right away. Did not wait long. Had full body check and discussed a few acne areas I was concerned with. She even removed a cherry hemangioma on the side of my nose that I have been trying to get removed for years. Been to a few other dermatologists and they did not have success. On December 14 of 2022 I had cosmetic work done.... 2 cheek implants and a laser resurfacing of my lip line....I was quoted $500 for the laser treatment ,,,,but of course they don't tell you till your hooked ,,it takes 2 treatments,,$1000. also,,,,the implants were $850 each cheek,,and I asked several people who kept running in and out of operatory..this includes the doctor,,,and her assistants,,,My total should have been $2700 and I was charged $3900 I had paid for the 2nd laser treatment which was done on Dec28....I call up about the overcharge and they credit me $1700...they still owed me money,,,I get my Feb credit card statement and there is yet another charge of $500..they charged me twice for the laser treatment which I had paid for on Dec 14th,,My mistake was not questioning the charge that day,,and not reading the many reviews on Google , Yelp,,,and Consumer Affairs, they are endless...These people are swindlers ,,overpriced,,,and minimal results if any,, think twice and beware if you go to this group,,,, read more

I saw a physician assistant for a rash at the Hillsborough location. She had no idea what it was and stated that to me. Even though the lesions were not fluid filled, she cultured it anyway by sticking me with a needle until I bled to use that as her sample. They were negative and I am yet to recieve a follow up phone call with the results from them. As a midlevel practitioner, if unaware of a diagnosis you have a collaborating physician that you can turn to for a second opinion, which she did not do. I went to PS Dermatology and saw Dr. Patel who was able to diagnosis me immediately with pityriasis rosea just from his subjective exam. I would never recommend anyone to go to Schweiger dermatology group for any clinical matters. read more

Rude/Unprofessional/Don't ever expect anyone to call you back. I called them for weeks and requested that my Doctor call me back. She never did and after 7 calls she finally put a note in my file for a staff member to review with me. Every time you talk to someone there you get a different story. Remember one thing, without patients you Doctors don't have jobs. Read the reviews, there are definitely reasons for the poor reviews. I wish I would have read the reviews before going. read more

Very dissatisfied with my experience here. Although the PA was satisfactory and friendly, it seems that the office culture is more focused on selling "in house" products that you can buy at the pharmacy for a fraction of the price. Also, after (2) visits, I received (2) costly surprise bills for service that wasn't really necessary. So I guess, my copay doesn't cover anything. ‍ I've never seen an actual dermatologist at this location. Only a PA and a nurse. The PA was friendly but didn't explain all the hidden fees that would be forthcoming. Their billing dept line is answered by a service that's out of state. Horrible office and experience. Office refuses to accept calls so all calls go to a call center that isn't allowed to transfer patient calls to the office directly. The office never returns calls or messages. Unacceptable and unprofessional way to run an office. In early 2020, I had a good experience in Hillsborough with a young physician who treated my winter eczema. Unfortunately, she moved to CA. Later in the year, I visited for another eczema check and saw nurse "PC" ($150). The nurse sold me an annual skin check up ($225) and a biopsy on a "suspicious" mark on my thigh ($350) performed by nurse "DD". No physicians around! After that invasive procedure (skin cut by mechanical means), I was not given an antibiotic for the wound but a kind of topical cream. I visited again so that DD can check the wound ($195) that ultimately took about 3 months to heal completely. That skin mark was benign. From this experience I learned that this practice seems to be a revolving door for new dermatologists so that, at least in my case, only nurse practitioners are available for consultation and treatment. There is a number of dermatologist MDs in Hillsborough and surrounding suburbs so that I will no longer visit this practice. (My current derma will never allow nurses to perform biopsies.) Further, I do not recommend this practice because, if you do see a physician, there's a good chance that patients will not have a long-term relationship with them. POSTSCRIPT: I started receiving more bills from Schweiger in November 2022 corresponding to the above 2020 visits with nurses (the above charges are taken directly from those statements - thank goodness for insurance). read more

I really don't know why there are so many bad reviews. I've been going here since I was 13 years old, I was able to see Dr Carmen Davis, who is no longer there but she was always on time and got to the point with my skin care solutions. I now see Dr Ley and I love her, I've been battling acne for years and she's the first dr to go above and beyond for me. She's always been on time for my appointments and spends at least 30 or more minutes discussing all my skin needs. She started me with Aerolase treatments to help and only two sessions in I'm seeing tremendous results. I would recommend this facility to my friends and my family. read more

If I could give a zero or less I would. You don't see a doctor unless you specifically make it an issue, only see PAs. I developed a rash following 2nd visit of 2 part treatment - both parts done by PAs. Call to report it. Given Prescription #1 - has no effect. Go back in, see a different PA, says oh you have a an allergic rash, "maybe" hives - I'm like no kidding. I ask what caused it. PA: no idea. Tells me script 1 wrong stuff, writes 2 more prescriptions. #2 should clear it up - had no effect. but says if #2 doesn't work use #3 an oral steroid, #3 begins to have some effect but PA never said once I stop rash will return, which is did 2 days after medication stopped. Finally, ask for apmt to see actual Doctor. He says script #1 was wrong medication. Says #2 insufficient dosage - is meant for kids and babies. Confirms that #3 only temporarily masks symptoms. What??!!!??. Gives me script #4 which is supposed to resolve situation. If that's what was needed, why wasn't that script #1?!! Why did I have to suffer unnecessarily with a burning rash for an extra 10-12 days. What's even more alarming is he never even bothered to read my chart beforehand, had no idea what I had been treated for in first place until I told him, just kept saying well he wasn't there so can say what caused it. Worse yet, instead of owning fact that rash appeared after my 2nd visit, he went totally defensive claiming it was from an outside source, until realizing I wasn't buying it, admitted "could've been something" first PA used on me. This place is an factory. PAs administering medications on guesswork without consulting with a doctor first. As for the doctor I did see (Goldberg), he had by far the worst bedside manor I've ever encountered. Not so much as a hey sorry this happened. More concerned with deflecting blame. So four visits, and four scripts later and as yet no idea if I'm done. Meanwhile, my insurance footed bill for 2 office visits and 3 unnecessary medications, while I'm out of pocket 2 office co-pays and 3 prescription co-pays. I should send them a bill for reimbursement. Readers may think I'm unreasonable, but we're not talking about a shoe store, they're dealing with peoples' health. I'll never go back or ever refer anyone else. Avoid the Schweiger group. read more

When my long-time dermatologist sold her practice to this group, I decided to give them a try. First, I had to book an appointment at an inconvenient location in order to see an MD rather than a PA. Then, I spent 45 minutes sitting in a waiting room only for the MD to finally show up, look at me for 2 minutes, and leave. I called multiple times to share that this had not been an appropriate or a thorough exam. No one called back. However, they did send a bill for the copay and follow up multiple times to get paid. I tried calling that number and sat on hold ad nauseum. I will absolutely not go back to them and cannot recommend them. read more

I used to recommend SLSS to everyone. I never had a problem getting an appointment and the Hillsborough NJ office has a wonderful staff. They still do. Unfortunately since they're part of Schweiger Dermatology, the level of service has gone from 5's to a big 0! Even when you call the NJ phone # you get NY. They're rude, leave you on hold and still can't answer a question or seem to make an appointment. Unfortunately I'll be moving on and finding a new dermatology group. read more

I went there for a one-time visit, and not only did the symptoms return a week later, but I received 4 invoices from them over the past year with about a dozen of additional unfamiliar services. They failed to return all of my calls inquiring what the invoices were for. Nevertheless, they did a great job calling from their collections department asking me to pay the balance. Ridiculous. Day in & day out I would constantly think about my underarm sweating. Once it became an issue in my life it was all I thought about at work, with friends and family, etc. Hyperhydrosis is common and I'm here to say very treatable! Emily Clifford & the team at Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists are incredible. Since February when I had the amazing MiraDry procedure, zero & I mean ZERO sweating. It's beyond a relief to be able to give a presentation, lift my arm and point, without having anxiety about a large wet spot under my arm visible to a whole room of people. The procedure is one day and so worth it. To be very honest the numbing of the underarm area lasts a while, a number of weeks, but it's harmless. I had high expectations for this practice based on their polished website and fancy waiting room decor. I was brought back to an exam room that doubled as a storage room. Dr Goldberg walked in with a resident to examine me. They left and only the resident returned, stating he was going to do the procedure solo. I was not given a choice. The medical assistant did not seem to know what she was doing when she was assisting the resident. I was scheduled for a follow up a week later to have sutures removed. When I arrived at my appointment time, the office was locked and the lights were off. I tried to call the office but was redirected to the scheduling office which is located somewhere else. 15 minutes later while I'm on hold with th scheduling guy, a medical assistant came strolling down the hall with her friend and she asked me if I was waiting to go inside the office. I said yes. She said she would let "them" know I was waiting at the door. Why was the office locked if staff were inside? And why was I given an appointment time when the office was closed? No one apologized or game me any more explanation. I wasn't seen until 30 minutes after my appointment time. I will not be returning. read more

awful service all around, manipulating cosmetic and medical appointments to charge insurance and then leave you with balance. never disclosed office charges for cosmetic appointments. went to the office for the same thing and they charge different amounts each time, again without disclosing. amy tank has extremely poor bedside manner, she had her back to me while asking "what brings me in" instead of taking a look or doing any sort of scan or review. proceeds to write three prescriptions without saying what they were, come to find out it was things i was prescribed in high school that didnt work. staff were having grossly unprofessional and inappropriate conversations outside of patient rooms, excessive wait times, rude staff. very disappointing experience. they just want your money, save yourself the frustration. read more

My wife and I had been looking for a new dermatologist, and we found this place on Google, but after waiting almost 45 minutes, and filling out a short novel worth of paperwork, both of our appointments with Dr. Kesty were extremely rushed, impersonal, inexperienced, and not 100% thorough or what we expected. Both of us went in for full body scans, and there was nothing "full body" or scanned about our visits. Everything at this office is about aesthetics, and is shallow and/or superficial. God forbid you have a skin tag or blemish on your forehead. This is for people who want to feel better about the way they look... not a TRUE dermatologist office. All make-believe, overpriced and fake. I paid $350 to have up to 10 skin tags removed (which is double what MOST dermatologists charge), and she missed 2-3 of them, because she was in such a rush! I would not recommend this practice to my family or friends. I have no problem with the doctors or the staff. The reason I wouldn't recommend SLSS is because I always have to wait over an hour to be seen by the practitioner. Honestly, my time is too valuable to be wasted this way. I suspect the practitioners are routinely over scheduled. Another thing that bothers me is that the doctors will not see children. Children are relegated to the nurse practitioner, which is mostly fine. But still, I would like to be able to choose which practitioner my child is seen by. Doctors only see "certain" patients. I had been going the SLSS for years, but the last straw occurred when I was told my appointment was cancelled after I waited over an hour to see the doctor. I was dressed in a skimpy examination gown for over an hour! The doctor had to leave for the day, and the patient before me took up too much time due to complications. So the staff apologized and refunded my copay and off I went. It was really inconsiderate on the part of SLSS. They didn't even try to reschedule the appointment because they knew how unprofessional and embarrassing this was. If you don't mind waiting for a long time to see the doctor (or maybe not see the doctor), then by all means go to SLSS Hillsborough. My advice is to find another practice. There are lots of other great dermatologists in the area. read more

Talk about dishonest I met Dr. Goldberg and he just talked to me briefly and did nothing on my face but instead brought in his facial person who tried to sell me facial packages and a truckload of products! So unprofessional! I got a large bill called to dispute it and then it get sent to a collection agency unbeknownst to me as it was returned to sender and I never got it! It took a hit on my perfect FICO score and I just forwarded this over to my attorney's! Who in their right mind would go to this very crooked and bogus rip-off place! I recently had an Ultherapy treatment with Emily Clifford at the Hillsborough office of SLSS. The entire office staff was wonderful, particularly Jennifer and Freddie. The treatment seems to have made a slight improvement already only a few days in. Emily is delightful and caring in addition to being very proficient at this. She was patient and answered all of my questions to my complete satisfaction. I am very particular about the doctors and practitioners I use and I am very happy that I chose Ms. Clifford. read more

David Goldberg is one of the biggest a$$ haul I ever came across in mylife.. i went there for a checkup of a wart which he barely looking at it for 2 seconds and decided it to be an STD when it was just a rash.. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Dr. Lolis is extremely unprofessional and money hungry. I had the first appointment of the day and she proceeded to make me wait an hour while she attended to her Botox patients. When I confronted her about it it was as if I wasn't worth her time. We all know Drs don't have the best bed side but when you are dealing with skin cancer the puffiness of another woman's face should not take presidency. read more
