I have been going to Dr. Schwartz for years. I have always found her to be an EXCELLENT DOCTOR that really cares for her patients. I did see someone complaining about the office staff and that is why I will mention that the past I did meet someone who worked in the office that was a porcupine but she changed a lot while working there. In fact, I am glad to say that by the time she left there she was a very sweet lady. Dr. Schwartz did hire new office personnel and I do miss the others that left. The new ones are very nice and I have never had any problems. Sometimes it is hard to fit me in at the last minute because she runs a very busy office with a lot of patients. But they do call me and offer advice, send me for a test or refill my prescription and make an appointment for me. The new method of communicating through the internet is wonderful. They do respond and I am sure it saves me and them a lot of time. No need to wait on hold on the phone any more. I go there because I have yet to find a primary doctor that can measure up to my doctor. I have been hospitalised several times and when in the Winter Park Hospital she visited me every day. I don't know how she managed that since she is always so busy with her practice and she does have a family. I appreciate her handling my problems and getting me thoroughly checked while in the hospital. The advice she has given me through the years was always right on. I am sorry that sometimes I did not do what she told me to do and now I regret it. I do want to say that the staff and my doctor did things for me this year that were far and beyond any doctor's would have done for me. I was going through a divorce and my lawyer wanted a letter from my doctor about my condition and the problems I have (which are many). The lawyer requested it the morning I had to go into court! I thank the doctor, nurse and the office staff for doing that for me. I know they usually need several days or a week to do something like that. I highly recommend Dr. Schwartz, her nurses and personnel. read more

Dr.Schwartz seems like a kind and intelligent person. However, she either doesn't feel confident nor wants to be bothered to treat general health issues under her care. She is paranoid many medications are scheduled 1 narcotics. (She considers Lidoderm 5% transdermal patches a controlled narcotic, they have never been a controlled medication ). If you want a doctor who draws blood in her office and will write you a referral to any specialist in town then she would be a great fit. If you want a doctor who cares and wants to treat patient and symptoms find a diff doctor. read more

I read some of these past reviews and am shocked, frankly. Dr. Schwartz has always been kind, thorough, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I really question the validity of these claims. read more

I have had great experiences for year at Dr Schwartz's office in Winter Park. So has everyone that I have referred to her.

I was new to town and needed a primary care doc. I liked Dr. Schwartz's stats, and she herself was fine. The staff, however, is horrible. When sick people call with a question, don't interrupt them to tell them that the doctor won't deal with their problem, and get off the phone without even offering an alternative. This morning, when my foot was split open and bleeding, I wondered if my tetanus was up to date. I called the office, and the girl informed me, without ever doing identity verification and THUS VIOLATING HIPPA, I wasn't up to date, and hung up without saying, gee, maybe you should come in and get one. I called back and asked if I could come in for the shot and she told me to go to the ER. Yup. This is the third time I've paid more to go to an urgent care clinic because my Dr. office won't see me. I have called in for script refills and never got a call back. Like I said, Dr Schwartz and the nurses there are great. Professional, friendly, and seemingly competent. Which is why I'm giving two stars. But I will be switching doctors because the hell her front desk makes you go through isn't worth it. read more

First and foremost, I am very thankful to Dr. Barbara Schwartz for helping me to be healthy when I was very very sick. That being said, her office staff is less than adequate! Money are rude and never own up to THEIR mistakes... In August 2014, I called to schedule my annual physical. After making the appt, I decided to change the date so Imcould have money for my co-pay. The person making the appt told me "because of Obamacare, I wouldn't have a co-pay". I proceeded to tell this person that Inhad insurance and she repeatedly informed me of "Obamacare"... She then told me I could come in 2 weeks prior to have my blood work done and again I asked what my copy would be. AND AGAIN she said "because of 'Obamacare' there would be NO co-pay." I again assured her that I had health insurance, but the appointment maker insisted there would not be one. So in August 2014, I arrived for bloodwork. Make was right, mothers was NO co-pay. I went back 2 weeks later for my physical and they wanted to charge me $17.00 for a co-pay. Yes, I know $17.00 is a minute amount to pay, BUT when you have been told and reassured there would be NO CO-PAY, there should be no co-pay. After my visit, I was som, icky to talk to the Office Manager Barbara (not the doctor) and she had the audacity to tell me I was trying to commit Insurance Fraud. WTH? Her receptionist who made the apoointment should be charged with that if in case it comes down to an insurance fraud case, but I told "Barbara" that she needs to remove the bill and re-train her staff. Then the bills started coming! After I got the first bill, I sent a letter to Dr.Schwartz detailing the process of what had happened. Didn't get a response, but continue to get bills. Today, I received a collection call from their office from someone who had no idea what had been said or done in the past. I asked to speak to the office manager and told her I was not paying this bill because of the principle of the matter. She was short and said "ok", which probably means she is sending it to collections. So thank you Staff of Dr. Schwart's office and Obamacare for being incompetent. I look forward to disputing the collection! read more

Worst experience ever. I waited two hours only be treated like a lab experiment. I had horrible ear pain and was gawked at, poked at and prodded by every PA, nurse and intern in the office. I was sent away with no solution and feeling like a freak show. My best advice is to avoid unless you enjoy feeling like a human science experiment gone wrong. read more

Doesn't do proper testing; a prescribe and goodbye style. I asked for testing but she resisted. Here i am years later and it turns out the majority of my issues come from allergic reactions. I should be able to get my money back. She wasted my time and money while risking my health. read more

I have been a patience of Dr.Barbara Schwartz for many years. She is professional and extremely knowledgeable in her practice. She make me feel comfortable and provides me the best care. She answers all of questions and prescribes me the appropriate medications on a timely manner read more

I was hospitalized for 12 days and Dr Schwartz wouldn't want to exam me after discharged (per doctor's discharged order ) face to face at all. Dr Schwartz only wanted to do via phone even though I had test and labs showing that I'm not contagious. If I had some other possibly minor problem, dr Schwartz told me to go to the ER instead of doing a thorough check up. Her staffs had to fill out some FMLA paperworks and the manager insisted me paying $25 which I did , before she even sent it out. It was a nightmare to deal with her staffs because the manager filled out incomplete information, wrong information. Every time I asked her to correct those information, she had never returned my phone call or emails. When I was at my sickest , dr Schwartz sent me a letter to drop me as a patient because I was complaining about the unorganization, rudeness, and inefficiency of the office manager . So much for "compassionate " and "caring " from the Hippocratic Oath that a physician had taken. 2 months afterward, I keep receiving this bill of $25 and it's stated that I had to pay right away (which I already paid in order for the manager to fill out my FMLA) ; otherwise they will send it to the collection agency. I called office right away and no one wanted to talk with me. They transferred me to the office manager's voice mail and I left a message explaining that I already paid. I also emailed the office staff and manager the receipt that showed I already paid that amount 3 months ago. As always , no phone call or no reply from the office manager. I don't know what else I should do to get the status of this issue ? Such a headache to deal with them and it's sad to see how irresponsible of a physician office manager is while their jobs and duties are to care for the sicks and provide quality of care to any patients without discrimination. read more

Very unprofessional. I waited TWO HOURS TO SEE HER!! You would think she would be something worth waiting for but no. She wears gyms shorts, an oversized jacket, and tennis shoes. I thought another patient had walked in my room, not the doctor. She spoke with her intern the entire time she was doing my exam (including the moments when her hands were in/on my privates). she had absolutely no regard for how i was feeling or if i was comfortable. She made me get completely undressed and dressed while her and her intern were both in the room, standing right there. she told me that I would have to pay for another THREE HOUR VISIT just to get the results of my pap smear, even if the results were negative. I would literally have to pay for her to tell me i'm fine, after i've already paid for the first visit. Her office clearly just wants money. it's sad, i've watched her office charge an old man $15 to sign and send a document. They are definitely the type of office that healthcare professionals warn you about. EXPLOITIVE! Lastly, I lost a prescription and when I asked for a suggestion of alternatives they told me to go to the emergency room or a walk in clinic. She doesn't care about her patients, again she just wants money. Dr. Schwartz may even be on opioids herself, she sure does look it. would give it a ZERO if i could read more
