An era where there were neighborhood doctors who knew you and your family and were only a call away. Being a mid-eighties baby, I'm assuming this era existed. Either way, it feels good pulling up to a neighborhood office. I called to make my initial new patient appointment and was really shocked to hear that they could fit me in two days from that time. Every other doctor's office I had called couldn't take me until three weeks from now (minimum). George made sure to remind me that they only take cash or check (no credit cards), but my copay should be fairly low given my insurance. Was it a little odd that they don't take CC? Yeah. Did it matter when they could get me in so quickly? NOPE! The lobby is nice and neat and has a TV (HGTV for the win!) and the paperwork was straightforward. George, who initially took my call, showed me to the room and we chatted for a while (everyone in Orlando knows everyone!). It was an extra touch of friendliness that made me smile and made the time pass more quickly. The doctor arrived and was very pleasant and efficient- but not in a way that felt rushed. By the end of the appointment I asked about his background and we talked about regions in Spain worth visiting. Again, friendliness goes a long way!
