I only need to see the doctor once a year…read morefor my regular check up but every time I have gone, I have been happy with the visit and efficiency of the office. My husband also sees Dr. Douglas (we almost never go together due to work schedules) and my husband has similar experiences. The staff here is great and the office runs efficiently. Dr. Douglas runs on time. I've never had a wait. My husband is typically a difficult stick. The phlebotomist here is awesome and always gets him on the first time. Dr. Douglas is kind and takes a real interest in you, not just as a patient but as a person. Dr. Douglas is a huge dog lover and has photos of his dogs in the exam rooms. It's a nice touch so that the office feels less sterile and more welcoming. It's also nice to get a glimpse into his hobbies/ outside interests. That way you see him not just as your doctor but as a human. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Douglas. He is a wonderful PCP. You want someone who takes the time to listen and gets to know you as a person. The location is convenient for me but even if I lived a little further away, I'd drive the extra distance for a good doctor.

I love the fact that his office is in a neighborhood, on a residential street. It feels like a remanent of another era. An era where there were neighborhood doctors who knew you and your family and were only a call away. Being a mid-eighties baby, I'm assuming this era existed. Either way, it feels good pulling up to a neighborhood office. I called to make my initial new patient appointment and was really shocked to hear that they could fit me in two days from that time. Every other doctor's office I had called couldn't take me until three weeks from now (minimum). George made sure to remind me that they only take cash or check (no credit cards), but my copay should be fairly low given my insurance. Was it a little odd that they don't take CC? Yeah. Did it matter when they could get me in so quickly? NOPE! The lobby is nice and neat and has a TV (HGTV for the win!) and the paperwork was straightforward. George, who initially took my call, showed me to the room and we chatted for a while (everyone in Orlando knows everyone!). It was an extra touch of friendliness that made me smile and made the time pass more quickly. The doctor arrived and was very pleasant and efficient- but not in a way that felt rushed. By the end of the appointment I asked about his background and we talked about regions in Spain worth visiting. Again, friendliness goes a long way! Overall, a great visit and I am SUPER glad to have a new doctor nearby (versus the 30 minute trek I used to make).

Recently, my husband went into the office VERY sick and Dr. Perez immediately examined him and determined he had a major lung infection and sent him directly to the Hospital... where he spent 12 days!! Dr. Perez is extremely good with his patients and remembers you and your family! And the great part is he talks to all patients at their level so you can understand what he is explaining to you and how you need to handle the current illness you are experiencing !!! I am very impressed with both the staff at the Dr's office, as well as Dr. Ruggerio himself. I didn't wait for anything more then a few minutes at any point in time, even in the actual waiting room, which is where the majority of patients are kept suffering in my experience. I was called in within ten minutes to a room, and seen almost immediately by Dr. Ruggerio. Not only did he have a very thorough understanding of my RA, he also did an in-depth analysis of my medical history to make some recommendations that would help manage RA better. Unlike some other doctors, he really spent time getting to know my medical history and helping me out. I didn't feel at any point in time like he felt rushed or bored and ready to move on to the next patient. Imagine; a doctor that actually CARES about his patients and not just his pocket. The staff follow up was excellent as well. The nurse sat with me to look up some specialists in the area (I was still travelling to NY to see my rhematologist a few times a year), and called a few days later to check in. They are extremely fast at getting back to you when you call with concerns or are in need of refills, and also fill prescriptions via Blackberry on the spot. Now that's service!
