The office is clean and office staff are friendly. Best part is after you are established there are walk in clinic hours -- every weekday. So no need to fight for an appointment or go to centracare for an extra cost when simple things like sinus infections come up. Priska is my new primary care doctor and she is direct and to the point. I haven't had any major health issues beyond the work insurance physical and routine blood tests. No pushing of unnecessary medications and actually trusting the patient (on things like previous blood work and previous health issues). If you're looking for a new primary care doctor, definitely check them out!

However, after the experience first hand, I believe this is an outstanding approach and much different from the model where they task doctors to see hundreds of patients and charge as much as possible. This membership model is affordable, but more so my new Primary Care Doctor at Family Tree Primary Care took time to go over all my concerns as well as what she wanted to go over too in great detail. I did not feel rushed and I did not feel like another number. Everything was clearly explained and the discounts for a wide variety of services ranging from bloodwork to scanning, medications to other tests are outstanding. I believe this model of patient engagement, connection and authentic concern for health and wellness is a great alternative to the popular and less effective primary care model that is out there. To me, this is the future of patient care, where a patient is cared for as the individual person.

They asked me what my insurance is and I told them Medicare. To my surprise, they do not accept Medicare patients. She's fine but, like many of her medical generation, pretty locked into pharmaceutical solutions. It would be nice to see more of the younger docs start to open their eyes about integrating general health practices with the easy pill answer. She is knowledgeable and well-trained, but patronizing and condescending. Like all the docs, she wants you in for the co-pay (no phone referrals), but not for long conversations so she can process through to the next patient. Not her fault, perhaps, as the health system makes that the way she has to operate to make money, still it doesn't leave you feeling "cared for."
