She is always sure to inform her patients about what all their medications' uses are, taking care to ensure they are aware of what they are being treated for and why. She defines the real-world meaning of scientific lab results and makes them easy to understand and apply to your everyday life. She makes medicine easy and spells out all the most important aspects of your future care. I went to her with what seemed like an encyclopedia's worth of medical history, and she took the time to go through each of my health issues and made sure I was where I needed to be with each one. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a well-versed MD! She sees patients of all ages, shapes, and sizes--so Altamonte MD is the perfect place to establish any family who wants centralized, one-stop care! She also performs GYN exams, making this location an excellent place to settle into for all medical needs! I joined membership with them back in June 2020 in hopes of finding a new good primary care clinic since I moved to Sanford from Daytona and I was way overdue for my yearly check up physical exams. Sadly, I had to cancel my membership on the phone on July 27th 2020. I will list pros and cons of being a member here from my experience. PROS 1. ALMOST* everyone is so nice and friendly 2. Ms.Lydia is a good PA and I can tell that her and her team really do care 3. The prices are somewhat still affordable even without health insurance 4. Not terribly difficult to make appointments. You don't have to wait too long. They can get you in within a week or two. (With some clinics you do wait a long time sometimes up to months like my previous care provider in South Daytona. But he was amazing so I really wish I stuck with him because right now it's almost impossible to see him any time soon.) 5. The place is clean, and seems well sanitized CONS 1. The lady who works at the front is actually my deal breaker. She always answers the phone. Her name is Kelly. Let me tell you first that I have lived in Mississippi, Oregon, Texas and Florida and I have been to COUNTLESS primary care doctors. I have not had a single place that have a front person who's utterly rude, impatient, uncaring, mean and really extremely unprofessional as Ms. Kelly. I have no idea why every time she talks to me on the phone (or even in person) she has such a bad attitude. She makes you feel like you are bothering her. Makes you extremely uncomfortable to even call and do simple thing such as rescheduling or following up with lab results etc. Which shouldn't even be that way. And trust me, I am not exaggerating. I'm usually very polite and respectful to others in general and I believe I haven't done anything wrong to her so it makes me feel really bad. She would "sigh" after ever other sentence and sometimes even yell at me on the phone. For someone who has social anxiety like me (which already makes me feel uncomfortable being on the phone and always feel like a bother to others) this is the last thing I expect to deal with from my primary care office. I know it's ridiculous that she is the reason I decided to no longer use Altamonte MD service but I couldn't help. After all she was the first person I have to deal with each time I contacted the office so if it caused me so much stress then I really don't need this. I even started to think whether it's actually because my ethnicity (I'm Asian) but I normally don't play race card so I talked to one of the girls who is Ms.Lydia's team about my concerns regarding Ms. Kelly, she had told me that I am not the only one who had a complaint against Ms.Kelly so I think it's just a case of misfit of a job for Ms.Kelly. I wrote this in hopes that no other patients would ever have to deal with this again because it's not fair. 2. I had lab test results on July 20th and had signed a form of release to forward all the results "including EKG test and a note saying whether my EKG test is normal" to my ADHD specialist, but it took me 5 days from July 20th(Monday) to July 24th(Friday) just to find out from Ms.Kelly telling me that Ms.Lydia who is my PA, couldn't "write such a note because she is not a cardiologist". It was very disappointing because that's not what I heard about her scope of work and took me that many days to find out about it. I decided to call bunch of primary care offices nearby and including one in Daytona, all of them told me that "of course our primary care physicians can definitely do that for you!". It made me think wow....why would Altamonte MD have such a trouble doing such a simple thing for me then? I decided to go in this place called Family First Health Center in Daytona which is 40 minute drive from home and I'm so glad I did(TOTALLY WORTH THE DRIVE). Everyone was lovely there. The doctor was great, the lady at the front was so sweet and kind to me. Everyone was so caring. I was like, THIS PLACE IS MY PLACE. It's how it's supposed to be. They wrote a note that I needed. First Time patient and I loved the welcoming lobby, very spacious with lots of comfortable seating, TV and water station available. Front desk girl was super sweet, very informative and professional. I asked about the no insurance plan, & she got me the info I needed. The medical asst who took me inside was also friendly and cool. I went in met my new doctor and his student assistant. I felt comfortable talking about myself, I was straight to the point and he was as well on what I needed to do. They sent in my RX and I was done. I just had the worse experience I've ever had at a doctor's office. TLDR: This office is full of incompetent morons who are terrible at handling patients, and trying to wring you out for money where its not needed and dont listen to you at all when it comes to your issues. I will NEVER return to these people. My family members who used to go here have all left as well.. Save yourself the headache. Story - The entire visit was terrible. It first started when they didn't take my new insurance. I was fine paying it with Care credit. They then said they couldn't run the card. Which was odd because i had plenty of money on it and i just used that same card this week, so it works. After they insisted it wasn't working, i then used my normal card to pay around 260$ -ish. I originally went there for a refill of medication that is controlled, but they put it under a physical. The next few minutes were normal. Until the nurse came in and asked what my pharmacist was. I said they should already have it on file. They said due to a new system, they lost the info. Fine, its X. The same nurse came back 5 minutes later asking me for their phone number. Do they not know what google is? After i gave him the number, the DR finally came in. I had never seen this guy before as the two female Drs i normally saw were not there that day. I told him i didn't really want a physical, i just wanted a refill of my meds. He insisted that the physical is needed to make sure the meds were not hurting me. Fair enough. I then asked if he could refill some Xanax while he was at it. (It was prescribed to me by another doctor, so that would've been ok if he said no) But instead he asks if I'm seeing a psychiatrist. I said i have a therapist and a doctor who already prescribed it to me. He then tells me he'll give me a note to see a psychiatrist. .. Really?? He then comes back with the blood work paper to take to the other room and said he'll see me in 2 weeks. I asked for what. To go over the results of the blood work.. I have never in any doctor's offices, including the 2 years I've been to this office have ever had to come back in the office for test results unless something wrong was found and they needed to speak to me. I was not planning on paying 75$ for them to tell me im fine. From there we go to the blood draw room. The lady then asks me what my insurance was.... I already went over this, that's why i paid full price already. She then wasn't sure if they took it or not so she left for 5 minutes to figure it out all over again, to say that yeah, they don't take the insurance.. SO they were going to change me MORE on top of what i already paid! WAIT. I paid for the physical and blood work already for you to charge me more?? I didn't even care about the physical, i just wanted my levels tested for my med refill. It is how ive done it across 3 doctors for the last 5-6 years. The lady comes back and tells me the level test would be 75$ on top of the 260$ i already paid... WAIT so you charged me for something i didnt really want and not for what i actually came for? So you didnt plan on checking my levels to begin with?? The DR then tells me he's only going to give me 1 month worth of dose instead of the normal 6 months i usually get, and tells me to go find another doctor who takes my insurance.. SO NOW Ive paid 260+75$$ for only ONE month's worth of dose instead of the normal 6. read more

At first I thought Dr. Dan would be a good doctor. But shortly after my visit, within a few hours, the manipulation he did left me in agony. I thought we had agreed to an X-ray to find the problem. I called the same day. No response. The next day I stopped in personally and was told the message would be passed. No nurse, no doctor available. No response I used the portal twice with messages. Horrible experience. First of all, they charged me just for a consultation, which is ridiculous. But then they harassed me for months about a bill which I have been assured multiple times has been paid. I keep trying to block them and they keep using new emails and phone numbers to harass me. I spoke with the office manager and he assured me that the bill was paid and they would leave me alone. He also offered to refund part of the consultation fee, neither of these things ever happened. read more

Great experience and professional friendly medical staff. I was in need of a rapid COVID-19 test and they definitely lived up to rapid with a result within 10 minutes! I had just visited my 92 year old dad and got a call that my brother who I saw a couple days ago came in close contact with someone who tested positive. This location is by far the cleanest I have ever been too! From the moment I walked in I noticed how clean they are! Big plus! The receptionist was on the phone when I walked in which didn't really make me feel welcomed but hey, she is a receptionist, she is supposed to be on the phone! Haha The medical assistant who took me to my room was spectacular. I think her name is Alex? Short black bob haircut...she was very welcoming, spoke clearly, knew what she was doing, seemed confident in her job, and most of all listened to me without rushing. She was very compassionate and showed empathy. Never have I had anyone treat me that way in a doctors appointment! She was great! My doctor, sumita, was nice...she spoke clearly which is important to me, she had someone in the room with a laptop taking notes which was new to me. She was informative and seemed knowledgeable. She wasn't rushing to get out either which is nice. Everyone is very nice overall. I didn't give 5 stars because there is always room for improvement. Very friendly and efficient at the reception desk. They were able to take me in as walk in although they do also take appointments. They have a nice and ample waiting area and everyone was very attentive. The entire practice was neat and clean. My attending nurse was phenomenal! She walked me through every step of what was going to happen. My PA Lydia was nothing less than amazing! Discussed with me what I was going through how would be treated and explained to me how to care for my ailment. Very friendly and at the same time very professional! Explained all the next steps and provided me a referral for a specialist without any pressure. She discussed the importance of preventative care, especially at my age and reviewed with me what that would look like. I came to this office because one of the doctors was in an office that I used to really enjoy. It seems that now she is in this facility she has changed tremendously. I was told today that she cannot do anything to help me with my T3 levels because my bloodwork is fine. I explained to her my blood work has always been fine and that my Hashimoto's disease was diagnosed by doing a biopsy because my Endo chronologist felt by looking at me and listening to me that there needed to be further investigation. She said there was nothing she could do because my T3 levels looked fine in my blood even after I told her my blood work does not show my disease. No one bothered to call my endocrinologist to verify anything or to help me at all. She told me I am depressed. She also made sure to tell me I had nice hair and she liked my shirt. However, no help for my thyroid. I left the office and called my Endocrinologist Who has me booked for an appointment next week and stated that she should have been able to contact him and work with him on this. I am a part of their month to month plan because I didn't have any insurance. Before I left I canceled my policy. I would also like to add that last week I had a horrible experience on the phone because I could not make it to my appointment that day last minute due to having a sick baby with a fever they are going to charge me a no show fee. They actually expected me to bring a child with a fever into their office to be seen. My primary goal for going today was to get my blood work and do something about the way I am feeling. Instead I was just told that I am depressed and that my medication that I am on is my problem. This is very very disheartening. Good luck to all who go here if you have a cold, the flu, or backache it may be the place to go but if you suffer from anything serious this is not the place to be seen. By the way this is the very first review I have ever left for anything in all of the years I have been alive and I am 48. I think that people need to search for better healthcare not just a place that they can afford that is going to put a Band-Aid on it or do nothing at all. Truly the best medical office I have ever been to, from family practice and internal medicine all the way to multiple specialities. When you enter the office, the front desk, Giselle, immediately accommodates and recognizes each individual as important while keeping their information private - I experienced this not only myself, but also by observation while waiting to be called back for my appointment. Both of the MAs, Jamie and Sabrina, are extremely personable and upbeat, but also focused and attentive on the complaints for the visit. If you have labs done that are normal, you get a call within 48 hours of having them drawn!! Which is another plus, they draw labs in office which kills two birds with one stone. I personally saw Suzan, the Nurse Practitioner, who is absolutely unparalleled to any other provider I have ever had. She truly cares about each individual, and it is obvious through not only her conversation, but also her demeanor and body language. She takes her time with you to truly understand what your concerns are, and talks you through them and educates you on the reasoning for each symptom. Not only is this incomparable, but I have never had a provider who is honest with expectations of following through with suggestions. She thoroughly explains all options with their benefits vs risks/repercussions, while being adamant about what she feels is right for each individual for their best outcome. To me, there is no other way I would want someone to treat me at a Primary Care office. She makes you feel like you are her very first priority, and that is something that is extremely hard to find. Overall, I have visited this office on 3 separate occasions and every time I have left feeling 10x better than when I entered. If you want an office who will hear you, care for you, calm you, and make you feel like you are their most important patient, then without a doubt I recommend Altamonte MD. read more
