We came across it on our first night and went back at least 2 more times on our stay. Everything we tried was great and even for it being such a busy season we had great service and while packed didn't feel overwhelming or crowded. From current reviews it sounds like they may have switched to a digital menu but we had a paper one when we were there. Seriously can't wait to go back and hopefully it's as good as we remember. The skin on the outer pork knuckle was perfectly crisp, while maintaining the soft, juicy, tender pork meat underneath. For those who have never had schweinhaxe, it's a lot like Chinese style "pig's feet" (it essentially is the same pork body part), but crispy, salty, and well.."European" tasting. We couldn't really read most of the menu, and fortunately for us, Bavarians are very nice and willing to help. A jolly, tall German man content with his beer in hand helped us translate some of the menu items and recommended certain beers on their EXTENSIVE list. I was really glad he was there since we got to eat some of the best items on their menu, as recommended by him. It was renovated from a previous hall and the decor is very nice, not to mention the Christmas decor. They even added a nice sitting area for groups of 5-8 where you have your own self serve beer tap at the table. What more do you need? They also have multiple private rooms. The service at Haufbrauhaus was terrible. I ordered a seasonal beer and it was fantastic and the outside seating was wonderful on a perfect day. Our server was awesome and spoke perfect english. I ordered the charcuterie board and it had a couple of hummus scoops and a beef stick and this scoop of stuff that was way too rich for me with pieces of butter in it, but the Germans love it. The pretzels that came with it were great and the cream cheese scoop went perfectly on the pretzel. One of the best meals in Munich, give it a try.

Mirrors line the outer bar to give this place the feeling of a larger place inside. Add to that, this place's cheery music selection and you get a great vibe.
