But it was Dr. Hicks whose incredibly kind and loving nature made all the difference during GG's final chapter. The compassion, warmth, and genuine empathy she showed us is something I will never forget. She didn't just care for GG medically, she cared for her spirit, and for our hearts, too. As GG's health began to decline, the support and guidance we received were gentle, reassuring, and filled with humanity. When the time came for GG to go to heaven, Dr. Hicks handled the moment with such grace and tenderness that it brought peace to an unbearable day. She treated GG with dignity, love, and respect, and she treated us with compassion that felt like a hug for the soul. Romeo Veterinary Hospital offers outstanding veterinary care, but even more importantly, they offer heart. They understood how deeply we loved GG, and they honored that love every step of the way. It was our first time there, and I was pleasantly surprised they even offer Sunday appointments. We saw Dr. Garrett, who was incredibly kind, thorough, and genuinely attentive. She reviewed his entire file before meeting us and actually listened to the details we shared about his behavior. We discussed a clear path forward, and he's now scheduled for surgery to have most of his teeth removed. I appreciate that this location has 18 veterinarians, several of whom specialize in dental care, and that they handle everything in-house, including blood work. So far, I'm very happy with the quality of care and professionalism at this veterinary hospital. I'll post a separate review after his surgery.

The staff was sympathetic to our situation - short staffed and whatever else. Finally it was our turn. The staff behind the scenes were great, very attentive and sympathetic to our situation. They gave us a blanket for the floor so our boy was more comfortable. Dr. Vermey was very up front that our boy was not good. He explained the bloodwork and our options. He had been sicker longer than we thought and we ended up putting him down. Dr did shed tears with us as our boy slipped away peacefully. We have dealt with Dr. Vermey before. The staff did give us a vile of our boy's fur and a blanket for his burial at home. There were tears and hugs all around. So, thank you to the staff and Dr. Vermey for your dedication to the animals and humans alike

Today was probably the hardest day of my life. My 12-year-old boxer has been with me my entire…read moreadulthood and grew up with my children. Witnessing his fourth-quarter completely broke my heart -- two weeks ago he was a happy and lively boxer with a small limp; a week later, he was suffering seizures and his legs could no longer support him. It got to a point where he couldn't get up to use the bathroom, and would have accidents while he was laying down. He looked so defeated. Anyway, yesterday I contacted Dr. Fish. He was polite and helpful - my whole family was an emotional mess. He explained the process well, gave us a ton of encouragement, and gave us advice. Know what else he did? He offered a hug. And you have no idea how much I needed a hug right in that moment. Having him euthanized at home was the right decision. A couple of weeks ago when I took him to the vet, he was visibly terrified, shaking and threatening to bite off my hand if I tried to get him out the car. I couldn't bring myself to dragging him into a vet's office, scared in his last moments of life. Instead, we played all day - with some extra end-of-the-road pain pills, he got up on his feet, went in the backyard and chased the ball with the kids. He was happy in his last moments - and Dr Fish made sure that we could let him go peacefully and in his happy place. I'd give him 100 stars if I could.

My baby went peacefully on 3/2/2025 after dealing with many health issues including kidney, liver, heart and gum disease. However, I was able to ensure she had a good quality of life up until the end when she stopped eating. After I saw she could not retain food, I quickly made arrangements and Dr. Fish accomodated us. We celebrate her life and recommend Dr. Fish for his compassion, expertise and gentle service.
