My baby went peacefully on 3/2/2025 after dealing with many health issues including kidney, liver, heart and gum disease. However, I was able to ensure she had a good quality of life up until the end when she stopped eating. After I saw she could not retain food, I quickly made arrangements and Dr. Fish accomodated us. It was horrible and peaceful all at the same time. He walked us through everything he was going to do, and asked a lot of questions on what Flash liked, and gave him an exam to put us at east that we were doing the right thing, and at the right time. He is there at your beckon call, and if he can't make it with in hours, he will coach you on how to keep your pet comfortable until he can make it. I thoroughly appreciate this service, as I did not want Flash's last memories to be of a Vet's office, which scared the bejesus out of him. The last person Flash saw and heard was me, and I owed that to him. He passed peacefully at his home, in his bed, and I can only wish the same for myself when my end is near. read more

I will never use Dr. Fish's services again. My sweet chihuahua, Ricky, suffered immensely when Dr. Fish came to our house to euthanize him. Instead of providing a peaceful transition, he brutally and aggressively stabbed Ricky with a very large needle straight into his thigh in such a way that Ricky screamed out in pain and terror. This was Ricky's last moment before losing consciousness. I have compared my experience with those of my friends using other home services, and what they described was a totally different experience. Their beloved pets had a peaceful and painless experience at home. This was the opposite experience our family and Ricky had. I will be filing a complaint with the Michigan Board of Veterinary Medicine. After reading this review I sincerely hope that you will seriously think twice before using his service. Today was probably the hardest day of my life. My 12-year-old boxer has been with me my entire adulthood and grew up with my children. Witnessing his fourth-quarter completely broke my heart -- two weeks ago he was a happy and lively boxer with a small limp; a week later, he was suffering seizures and his legs could no longer support him. It got to a point where he couldn't get up to use the bathroom, and would have accidents while he was laying down. He looked so defeated. Anyway, yesterday I contacted Dr. Fish. He was polite and helpful - my whole family was an emotional mess. He explained the process well, gave us a ton of encouragement, and gave us advice. Know what else he did? He offered a hug. And you have no idea how much I needed a hug right in that moment. Having him euthanized at home was the right decision. A couple of weeks ago when I took him to the vet, he was visibly terrified, shaking and threatening to bite off my hand if I tried to get him out the car. I couldn't bring myself to dragging him into a vet's office, scared in his last moments of life. Instead, we played all day - with some extra end-of-the-road pain pills, he got up on his feet, went in the backyard and chased the ball with the kids. He was happy in his last moments - and Dr Fish made sure that we could let him go peacefully and in his happy place. I'd give him 100 stars if I could. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Fish over any vet I have ever needed services from. He is hands down the most genuine and caring person you will find who will guide you in the direction that's best for you and your pet. He is unlike any vet I have ever experienced in the fact that he goes out of his way to ensure your pets gets what they need, and clearly isn't in the business for profit. He cares. He won't gouge you or force tedious and expensive testing on you, he is honest and down to earth. I initially messaged Dr Fish for euthanasia of my 14 year old cat since her previous vet refused to refill her prescriptions without lengthy hassles and arguing, and after describing her condition to Dr Fish, he was able to prescribe the medication she so desperately needs. All within a day. He even went out of his way to call and confirm it. I am eternally grateful and he is the only vet I trust now, and will trust him when it is finally is time for my coco to cross the bridge. However he gave me hope and possibly even more time with my cat thanks to the medication he authorized. I don't know what I would have done without his help. In 2017, when we lived in Clarkston, Michigan. Dr. Fish was so kind, compassionate, and understanding when he came to our home to help our dog, Callie, in her final hours. He explained everything that would occur, what Callie would experience, and he allowed us some alone time and didn't rush us or the process. Such a hard life event was made so much easier by Dr. Fish. He didn't discuss payment at the time -- the furthest thing from our minds -- and said to give him a call in the next couple of days if we had any questions and because we stated we wanted Callie's ashes to keep. I only wish that there had been a Dr. Fish in the past to come to our home and help us say goodbye to our pets in their home beds and surroundings with their family around them as they crossed the Rainbow Bridge. read more

Was very impressed with the care that given to our family at this horrible time in our lives. We were faced with the fact that our 10-year-old great Dane was in pain and he was unable to ambulate. He was not eating but would take sips of water. We all knew this time was coming but when it actually got there it happen to be a weekend and of course our vet was not available. It was a difficult, but necessary, decision to put our dog down. She was 14 with possible dementia and cancer so taking her somewhere strange at the end was not what I wanted to do. It was Easter weekend and we had called around on Friday and found a couple options that, as it turns out, do not service our area as the site claimed. Then I found Dr. Fish. I tried calling to no avail and he texted me back shortly after telling me he was at a home with a client and could call me back later. That was the first good sign as I actually prefer texting more and was not shy about texting me. We talked about what I was looking to do and he was very nice in describing the procedure and there was no judgement about our choice which is what happened at our previous vet when I brought that option up (at some point it is more humane to put dogs down). He then told me he could fit me in on Saturday afternoon, day before Easter, if I wanted. There was an extra charge for holiday weekend and travel distance but it was well worth it. I've had a few dogs over the years, some lived long and others not so much, so I had experience with losing a dog. My 2 daughters grew up with Peanut (a puggle), she was a year and a half when our older daughter was born, and they knew of nothing but time with our dog. When Dr. Fish arrived he was very friendly, very professional in a very kind way, and understanding of our decision. He explained the process to us and had everything ready quickly. As difficult a decision as this was, despite her failing health, Dr. Fish made it as easy as something like this could be. He showed a great deal of compassion to us and our daughters and we were able to say goodbye to our dog in our own home with her laying on her favorite blanket. It made a huge difference that we could have it done here. It'll be a while before we get another dog, even though my girls are already checking out Pug rescues!, but I know that if we had to do this again I wouldn't hesitate to call Dr. Fish. He made a very tough weekend easier to deal with and his willingness to travel on the holiday weekend showed that he cares about the people he is helping. I really can't say enough about him and I hope others consider using him for this unfortunate service. read more

Dr Fish understands that life events are not bracketed between normal business hours and he provides a flexible alternative to being forced to take your pet away from his or her surroundings for end of life care. He is very down to earth and has a compassionate and caring demeanor when he arrives at your house. In my case he probably drove at least an hour in the rain to get to my house. I met Dr. Fish for the first time in the most unfortunate of circumstances - the last day of my best friend's life. I contacted him on a Saturday afternoon and asked for a Sunday home visit, as my dog's health had taken a turn for the worse. Hannibal was a ten-year old 200 lb. rescue Dane/Mastiff who was never sick a day in his life, until his last month when he sank like a stone. I say beyond classless and one of the most tasteless things I've ever experienced. This guy knows nothing about timing, tact and empathizing with someone in grief. Look at this Facebook page, it's populated with request after request for online reviews. Obsess much Dr. Fish? Nothing like being opportunistic at someone's low point. And then, as the final insult, he posts the details of my experience online and begs for feedback in order to make himself feel better about being a selfish prick. It's taken me a year to be able to write this review because the passing of my cat, and best friend, Stella, was the worst thing I've experienced. There are no words to describe the extraordinary compassion, kindness and sensitivity of Dr. Fish. All my kitties are semi-feral, as I am heavily involved in TNR, but the kitties I have here in my home are ones that are all handicapped in some way therefore could not be returned to their colonies. Unadoptable,all of them and terribly fearful of all humans. Just getting them in a carrier is nearly impossible so a trip to a veterinary office is out of the question. Because of this, when my Mr. Thomas was nearing his time on this earth, I was desperate to find a way to give him a peaceful and painless death at home. After a long search, I was referred to Dr. Fish by a friend, When Dr. Fish arrived, I expected Mr. Thomas to be fearful and put up some sort of struggle, but to my astonishment, he was calm and comfortable in his presence. In addition, l was shocked when the rest of my cats, who ALWAYS scattered and hid from any stranger, actually greeted Dr. Fish and followed him around. That said it all! In addition, his care was extended to me as well, staying until the early morning hours until he knew for sure I was going to be alright. Never did I feel rushed nor pressured, and quite frankly, Dr. Fish made me feel like we were his only client. I just can't say enough about him and the gift of love and thoughtfulness he brings. He was the ONLY person my cats have ever found calming and trusted without hesitation. That says it all. Dr. Fish, my gratitude is endless and I am dedicated now to spreading the word and making sure everyone with furr babies know of this most precious gift you bring: that of a serene, respectful, compassionate, loving and painless transition to the next life.
