I received the report the following day, as promised, and it was extensive and very easy to read and understand. He colored coded each item inspected according to whether there was an issue that should be noted, or an issue that required repair or a professional to look into it further. I have never seen a report as complete as this one, and a report that is so easy to read. By color coding each item, it is very easy to focus on those items that need further review. This enabled me to go over these items with my real estate agent and decide what action should be taken. Not only was the report quite complete, I was able to speak with the home inspector the following day. He took the time to discuss each item with me. He came by literally 45 minutes after calling, clambered all over roof, sent me clear photos and gave me a verbal description of what needed to be done regarding my Spanish tile/membrane roof. Verbal price broken down to 2 options - cleaning only or full reset (replace broken tiles/elastic paint 2 coats of membrane) - I accepted full one verbally, he said Monday AM start and the written estimate was in my email that evening. By Thursday noon job completed which clearly was needed and more extensive than initially thought - as an example replacement of 70 broken tiles turned into 150, a plugged roof drain for who knows how long was cleared, bags and bags of debris were collected and disposed of - a totally mess that came off roof on 4 sides was cleaned. The final bill didn't change - tipped his crew extra as it was clearly rough work due previous owner's years of neglect. Than you Classic Roofing and I highly recommend if you are searching for a trustworthy, competent roofing company!

This is the first Yelp review I have ever written; I feel compelled to do so. Schultz Property Inspection provides excellent service, and I very highly recommend them. My partner and I were in escrow on a house in Joshua Tree, and we wanted an inspector who was familiar with desert homes but who was also independent and thorough. Bill Schultz fit the bill, so to speak. We were very lucky, since we found him simply by searching on line. Bill was very kind, helpful and detail oriented. He spent nearly four hours looking at our 1100 square foot home, answered questions along the way, and provided a 65-page report the next day. We felt very educated and confident going through with our purchase -- which involved finding a structural engineer to evaluate a foundation problem Bill identified (and that we never would have seen on our own). Bill of Schultz Property Inspections was awesome! Both him and his wife Vikki are nothing but friendly and courteous, very easy to deal with and scheduling was a snap! I have to say Bill's inspection was incredibly thorough, he took his time and spent 3.5 hours going over every inch of the home. He looked at every nook and cranny, attic space, roofs, windows, sinks, dishwashers, stoves, ac & heating systems, and lord knows what else. He educated us on things too. The property at first sight looked perfect and I had doubts spending money hiring an inspector for no apparent reason but my wife convinced me that it was the right think to do. She was dead right. Bill came in and, well dressed for the job, on time and already on the roof before I got there myself. The best I've ever used and the best money I have ever spent. They performed an inspection a few weeks ago on a house I hoped to buy, but the report revealed so many problems that we quickly backed out. The balance was promptly paid and my inspections were sent to me. However, when it came time to close escrow there was an invoice for the termite inspection. I told the escrow company that it had already been paid. The escrow called Travis and asked him if there was still an outstanding invoice and he said it was still unpaid. I tried calling him to discuss directly but he did not answer or return my call and will ultimately be paid twice for the same job. Very shady business practice. Something he probably does to every property he inspects, hoping his fees will be overlooked so he can get paid multiple times for the same job. Would highly recommend everybody to stay away from having this company unless they don't mind being charged twice for the same job.

We are in the process of moving and we did have boxes in the garage and on his report he called us hoarders and we had so much stuff in the garage he could exam the cabinetry for pests, when there is no cabinetry and we had already had a pest inspection. He said our yard was overgrown and yet our HOA has already signed off our shrubs and plants as being trimmed and in compliance with the HOA. Said our dishwasher is is fair condition when it was brand new, and on and on and on. Complete bullshit.

(JRC wasn't present when the inspector was there, btw). I have been a realtor for many years and often (it's always the choice of the client) have had the inspections done by Home Sweet Home Inspections and Dan as well as any other inspector working with him has been thorough in their job, polite and friendly. JCR may have misread the report as I went over all 52 pages myself just now. Fair dishwasher only means that the dishwasher was working but that the inspector didn't know how old it was. I don't see anywhere in the report that he was called a hoarder (?) Very disturbing that this negative report will be on record for a long time while again in my opinion it's one of the best inspection companies I work with. Lucas Schelkens

It was a pleasure to work with Carl Phillips at Desert Spec. We required a home inspection on a…read morepotential investment property and had a very small window of time. I sent an email to three providers of the service we required. Carl responded first and was available on a day and time that worked for us. It was by grace that his price was also the lowest of the three service providers we contacted. But you don't know if you got the 'right' provider until the deal is done. We got the right provider for our needs. He was prompt, which is a big deal in my book. He was personable - warm and friendly. He clearly explained how he worked and how long the job would take. He added that once his inspection was complete, he would talk us through the summary of issues. He told us he would send a report to us by email the following day. He stayed on task during the entire three hour visit, while answering questions we had and listening to our concerns as we remembered them. True to his word, he walked us through a summary of his findings once he completed his inspection, and answered some extra questions for us. The following day - which happens to be today - I received a PDF of the complete inspection report before 11:30 am. I would recommend Carl Phillips of Desert Spec to anyone requiring a home inspection.

He also tried his best to accommodate the day and time with us. On the day of the appointment, Cham arrived 25 minutes early, and he already started to inspect the house outside. He was very detailed, he spent almost 3 hours inspecting the house. He climbed up on the roof and inspected the surface of the roof and chimney. During the inspection, Cham was very focused on his work and he wouldn't like any interference. The following day around noon time, we got the report. The report is more than 280 pages with a lot of pictures on it.
