Schuler Plumbing was assigned as my contractor through a home warranty service for a gas leak. They called to schedule the appointment promptly, but the positives ended there. Their tech showed up almost 2 hours after the discussed/scheduled time. Upon arrival, I told the tech where I believed the shutoff valve for the gas was, he couldn't find it, tore off several side panels, damaging some, including unnecessarily tearing subfloor insulation out (none of this was cleaned up or even vaguely put back, at the end of this story). Eventually, it was found exactly where I told him it was. He immediately started prepping excuses for not doing any work. Pretending it isn't up to code (it's not, the home is 50 years old) as if that matters (it does not, it was permitted and the county does not require new permits for repairs that don't include alterations or modifications). We identify a leak (I say "a" and not "the" because he immediately stopped looking to verify there was any other issue). The fix required the replacement of 5' of flex pipe located in the subfloor within arms reach of the exterior. He refused. He tried to blame it on the county requiring permits until I informed him that it would not and that I know this due to 15 years in planning and engineering in the county. He started trying to make other excuses. Ultimately, he spent more time making excuses than the repair would have taken. This is peak lazy, but if it was only lazy it wouldn't be so much of a problem. As part of his excuses, he declared that after his review of the problem went in (because he was going to lie), the home warranty company wouldn't ever send anyone else out to fix it either. He put in that review. Changing his story dramatically from "country requiring permits" to "it doesn't fall under the contract terms due to improper installation". It was not improperly installed. It was installed half a century ago. That connection lasted FIFTY YEARS without a leak. It was permitted as per county requirements at the time. He omitted all of those facts to lie and justify being absolute scum. I called Schuler Plumbing to attempt to deal with this issue - hoping it was isolated to this single wretch of a technician. I was told I'd be getting a call back that day. I withheld making this review (or the great many more than will come from here out) until I heard back about how they would make this right (literally just send a tech out to do the 15 minute repair and restore the paneling to it's original state). I did not hear back. The next day I called again and left another message with a different person. I did not hear back. It's now the weekend and it's cold because we have no heat and we can't do dishes or use the stove or shower. All because their lazy scumbag tech would rather ruin someones ability to have future coverage on their property than due the basic tenants of their job. I would be embarrassed to have someone working for me behave so pathetically to a customer and then lie in writing to a client. I cannot fathom not making sure it was righted immediately upon learning of the absolute bullshit that happened. And for that tech, I could not live with myself being such a lazy, dishonest, sleazy scumbag that I would leave a family in the cold because I couldn't be bothered to do a very basic function of my job. This company clearly has no values, decency or quality in any fashion. Do not use for any reason. read more

Schuler Plumbing's the best! I'd initiated the call thru my Home Warranty company. When Marty, the owner, came out, he'd noticed that the situation was worse than what I'd originally thought. So he convinced the Home Warranty company to pay for the additional work. Which they did. Then Ray, Marty's technician, came out to do the work. And HE found even more issues with my plumbing once he started working on it. Which he totally repaired. These guys definitely go way above and beyond what anyone would expect from any plumbers. Had used company in the past, and called for several relatively minor plumbing repairs that were not an emergency to schedule a mutually convenient appointment. Was put on hold, and subsequently advised they no longer service "our area". We live in Lower Milford Twsp. in Lehigh County, but have an East Greenville mailing address. Was informed they only go as far as Coopersburg which I explained is less than 5 miles from where we live, and that their office is like 15 miles away. They couldn't care less!!!!!! Bottom line - could not tell if the repairs desired were too minor for their time (actually paid another plumber +/-$400); or if they are truly picky about what they want to repair, or the size of the job. Suspect if I wanted a total bathroom remodel they might sing a different tune, but I digress. read more

They actually answered their phone, returned calls in a timely manner and was flexible with my work schedule. We were assigned this company due to our home warranty. One of the technicians came out and at first told me my hose bib leaking was NORMAL. I told him it's definitely not normal, which long story short I was told it's not normal and he tried a few different things with a few different tools. The communication was HORRIBLE. The technician always told me the boss was supposed to go out and fix it or the boss was supposed to call me. The technician came back out the next week and told me the whole bib needs to be replaced and I'll be called in a few days to get on the books. Nobody ever called me. I called a week later to get an update, a lady took my info down and said she'll pass it along. I received a call back a week later(total of two weeks since I was told I'd get a call within a few days) with the same technician telling me he has a new tool and wants to swing by and fix it. So we went from the whole things needs to be replaced to him swinging by with a new tool. I explained my frustration the with lack of communication and he assured him he'd call me after... surprise, surprise I never received a call from him!!! I received a call from the home warranty telling me my claim is all of a sudden not covered and denied. Mind you I put my claim in June, so it's been well over a month. Therefore, I definitely don't recommend this place. read more

They were selected by my home warranty company. The work they did was good. However Marty (the owner) said he would put in a bleeder valve for my recirculating pump while replacing it. When I got home there was no valve. He apparently left a message or a text for his technician who did not get it. Marty did not bother to confirm the message was received. When I spoke to him the next day he told me he would come back to install it for $225. This is the valve he was going to install as part of the pump replacement in the first place. Like I said the work he did was fine. However his managerial and customer service skills leave a lot to be desired. Had he had a system in place whereby the techs confirm messages received, he would have know the message did not go through. He could have called my house to speak to the tech. That way I would be a completely happy 5 star customer. Now I am not. read more

After receiving their outrageous bill I conferred with another reliable company showing them pictures of what was done, only to find out that their charges were at least double of what they should have been. Don't waste your time and money! They charged 300.00 dollars for less than an hours work. We had a leak in an irrigation line that was already dug out by us. The plumber arrived and put a clamp and some tape to put on the leak. Less than a month later the line began to leak in the same spot. When I called I was first told that they had no record of the call. After calling back 2 times and speaking with the owner I was told over the phone our lines were old and could not be fixed. I feel ripped off and angry, so please do yourself a favor by not using this company! read more

Had 'Marty' Schuler out to locate a Water Leak on the main line to the house. $250 for Leak Detection that he DID NOT DETECT the leak!!!!! $500 later all they did was change out an irrigation valve, apparently damaged and capped another irrigation line in the rear of the house- without disclosing that to me-putty on the cap is fresh and the line is now dead-after having water working on that line when we checked it prior to their doing any work. THEN THEY SAID THEIR IS STILL A LEAK AND CAN'T COME BACK UNTIL NEXT WEEK-AND IT MAY TAKE A DAY OR TWO TO FIND IT. I asked about the $500 bill and he said "...maybe you should have someone else do your work!..." Heck of a way to explain a bill for not finding the issue! 'American Leak Detection/Plumbing' came out today and located the leak within one (1) hour! That's right they found what Schuler couldn't find in 4 hours. BE VERY WEARY OF THIS COMPANY, 40 YEARS OF SUCH AN OWNER TREATING CUSTOMERS THIS WAY AFTER PROVIDING SHODDY SERVICE. read more

States this is a diagnostic fee-to tell us we have a leak. But does not apply to work done if he's hired. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What a crappy way to snake money. This company came to my house on a Tuesday to fix a slow draining toilet. The service man came and augered the line and said he got most of it but he would need to get a "cutter" to get a root that was in my line. He told me not to flush any paper down the line until he could clear the line. The next day my son was there when the guy came back as I had to go out of town, I spoke to the technician on the phone and he said he was not able to fix it he said the was a root right at the clean out so I asked him to give me an estimate. He said he would talk to his boss and get back to me. I tried to reach the technician again on Thursday but did not get a response. On Friday he texted me and said he spoke to his boss and that they weren't going to be able to work on it "they didn't have time" he gave a name of another company to call. I tried to reach him again to tell me exactly what I should tell the other company,still no response. I called on Friday and again was only able to reach the answering service. So now I have wasted four days and the weekend is upon us. What kind of company tells a customer they don't "have time" to fix the problem they were hired to do? Even though the initial service call was paid for by my home warranty company I was asking for an estimate so I could pay for it myself. I hope this isn't the way they treat their other customers . read more

Yeah, if he says he is $100 an hour, he means it's $200 an hour, He just came out to my parents business yesterday he found the leak and then today he shows up and digs a little bit and then he pulled out his little detection equipment again and she was supposed to of found yesterday, and needless to say $800 later which he said he could have drug it out longer .
