I was in town visiting the historic landmark railway depot most of the day and I asked the guy who was giving the tours at the place and who I was talking to for hours if he could suggest a good beer/burger place, a local should know and he suggested this place so I changed my plans and went here instead. The place is the typical bar/restaurant with bar seating, table seating behind it and a pool table in back. I seat my self like the sign says and eventually my server stops by to ask what I wanted to drink and I ask what's on tap and a hulk like attitude rips out of her, your going to have to look for your self because she doesn't have time to tell me. Ok I'm not sitting at bar and I'm at a table in the back so no way I can read any of the taps that far away, just bring me something dark. She finally comes back to take my order and I ask if I can get a rare burger and she says yes so I get the Schuellers burger with frys and she says anything else so I say how about the beer I ordered 10 minutes ago. My burger came about 10 minutes later and I could tell by the smell that it is cooked completely through. The burger had 0 red or even pink left in it and it was dry, that's why I like rare because the juices are not totally cooked out of the meat. The frys were absolute the worst because they were room temperature, limp and very greasy, see my pictures and I couldn't eat them. When my server came back to ask how my food was I showed her my well cooked burger and said it's not even slightly pink let alone red/rare which she offered to cook me another one, no thanks I said because I never send food back. Overall my server hates her job which is obvious and the food was not very good or cooked correctly so I would not ever stop back here. I hope my server knows that I was very generous with the $1 tip because I wanted to leave $0 but she might not get the message and think I'm just cheap, the change would have been a total slap in her face. read more

Ordered their Surf and Turf for pick up. When I got it home I found the streak to be way over done. Ordered medium rare and it was well done. The coconut shrimp was also extremely over cooked. Almost to the point of burnt and had a slight burnt flavor to them. I called to complain and the actual owner of the business answered the phone. When I explained the issue his fix was for me to bring the food back and they would recook it. Which means taking it off my plate, boxing it back up, driving 10 minutes back to the restaurant, waiting 30-40 min to have them make a new meal, then driving home to re-plate my meal. Would have been another hour of my evening on top of the hour I spent waiting for them to cook my meal initially! Never going back to that place again. read more

Parking: plenty around the front and side of building. Entrance: from the front, the bar area is to the right as you enter, the table area is to the left. Atmosphere: bar type atmosphere standard tables with metal fabric chairs. The clientele were mostly workers in a lunch break. Quiet conversations going on with a TV program on in the background. Nobody paying attention. Service: right away. We got here at around 11:20 am for lunch. Two waiters including the owner. Had about 15 customers overall at the beginning but they were able to handle everyone. There is a salad and soup bar around the corner. About 6 of the patrons were having that. Our drinks came right away and our order taken within 5 minutes. The waitress came by a few minutes later and refilled my drink. Food: We ordered three meals, with two as the specials- a roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans and a roast beef sandwich with fries to go. And, my wife ordered the Zibel sandwich- shredded roast beef with Swiss cheese and onions on toasted homemade bread. Zirbel- "really good" and "like it very much" were the comments between bites . The roast beef dinner- the roast beef was hot and tender. The gravy was okay, needed a little salt but that's me. The green beans were lukewarm, not hot. The mashed potatoes were hot with gravy on them as well. Price: fair and not overly pricey. Go back: sure. read more

First stop on our 2021 supper club tour. Although this has a supper club type menu, and the typical supper club salad bar, I would classify this as more of a bar/grill. The old fashioned was a disappointment but again not sure it's their specialty. Service was good, food came out fast and was decent. The tenderloin and shrimp were the highlights. Next time I visit it would probably be for a burger or pizza as that is probably what they are better at. read more

Worst customer service. I've been avoiding this place because the experience we've had wasn't very welcoming. Thought I'd give it another try. We got there, sat at a bar table. People walked in after us, they were served 2 rounds of drinks and their order was taken while we just sat there trying to get their attention, for 20 minutes, no joke. We were about to walk out, as another group of people sat to the other side of us and they came over asking what they wanted and ordered appetizers. The bartender with long dark hair and a nose ring made eye contact with me multiple times but found interest in taking 2 smoke breaks in this time. I finally had enough and went up to the bar, annoyed. The other bartender, Alice, was pleasant. The other... I don't even want to comment. Not welcoming at all. So... I won't be going back. Sad. They have good food, but customer service is EVERYTHING. I hope they talk to her about her attitude and lack of initiative. read more

I am confident that this is the best place for lunch in Waupaca. The food prices are reasonable, the portions are large, and the menu has a ton of variety. We like to eat at Schueller's after a round of golf and it has never disappointed us. They have a huge beer selection, there is something for everyone, and it's always cold. I know they have some great dinner buffet specials that we will have to try one of these days. My only issue with Schueller's is that it is always so dark inside. It is hard to spend too much time inside in the dark when it's beautiful outside during the summer! read more

My brother and I took our mother and wives to this restaurant for Mother's Day. What a mistake. We had reservations in case there was a wait to be seated, but they weren't needed. The waitress couldn't answer my question about what beers were available so suggested that I go order directly from the bar. My wife asked for a daiquiri. The bar area was a little dim and the handles on the taps were in shadow so I had difficulty seeing them. So I told the bartender that my preference was for amber ales, and asked what did they have that might be close. She said the name of a beer and told me it was an amber. I asked to clarify if it was an amber ale or an amber lager. She said "it's an amber". Oh well. She also told me she didn't know how to make a daiquiri so I settled for a wine for my wife. My brother and wife ordered chicken Alfredo and it was apparently good. My mother, wife and I ordered the Sunday night special of broasted chicken. It took quite a while but the chicken Alfredo that my brother and his wife ordered was finally delivered. They had almost finished their meals before our broasted chicken meals were brought out. My wife asked for the 3 pc broasted chicken dinner of white meat. She was delivered a breast and two wings (dark). The cole slaw brought out with the meals was pretty sad; grated cabbage with little else to make it interesting and drowning in the creamy sauce. When we were done and paid the bill, I asked the wait-person about the long wait. She told me it was because they had become swamped in take-out orders, which apparently take priority over those who are dining in. I had a coupon, so I figured I'd try this place out. Maybe not the best choice I've made lately. Got an appetizer basket with breaded mushrooms, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and cheese curds. The last 2 were passable. But the mushrooms were slimy inside and tasted nasty, and the onion rings were gross and bitter tasting. Not worth the $7.99. My son and I both ordered burgers, which would have been fine if they hadn't been literally swimming in grease. I couldn't even keep my bun on my burger, because of all the grease. My kid didn't want to eat his, because it was so oily. Service was meh, and I heard the people at the next table complaining as well. I probably won't be eating here again. read more

Terrible experience Sunday, May 2. There were 5 of us at our table plus about 3 other tables all waiting for our food orders to arrive. Wait, wait, wait. Finally everything came out one table after another. Asked the waitress what happened and she wasn't sure but said they were training someone. The food must have been sitting a long time. Ordered broasted chicken. Chicken was overcooked and dry, coleslaw was warm from sitting under warming light, french fries were soggy, slab of toasted bread was just warm. Our judging panel had no idea why they spell 'expectations' they way they do, but we weren't there to correct grammar. We were there to pound some buffalo wings. The presentation of the wings were excellent. The sauce had an amazing buffalo flavor but there was no spice to it. The chicken was plump and juicy but also fatty in some parts. Eatability was decent, meaning the chicken came off the bone well. Lastly, we noticed we were served only drumsticks, some judges didn't mind and some did. Final score is an 8/10, great wings. This place has potential to get a 9/10 or higher if they work on it. read more

Skip this spot. Went for lunch on a Sat. and the staff was more concerned with cleaning than service. Sat at a table in the bar area. First ordered cheese curds for an appetizer. Asked for marinara but was very chunky and bitter tasting. We both ordered prime rib sandwich and fries. Meat was very thick and fatty. Onions on mine were disgustingly big, overwhelmed the whole sandwich. Bartender came to our table many times from mop bucket, without washing her hands. What a disappointment!!!!! Have been there in the past for the Friday night Land and Sea Buffet. The usual fried fare, except....they had prime rib!!! And it was pretty good. Tonight we went there and after waiting 25 minutes for our drinks, we started on the buffet. Fried foods were hard and there was no prime rib. So we continued to eat. Funny he was replenishing everything else, but the spot for the pr remained empty. Mind you...full of beef broth like they would be bringing out. The food was good but there are a couple other reasons I would not come back here. Reason 1 is when you walk into the front door immediately you are greeted by the strong smell of cigarette smoke. Apparently there is a smoking room located right off the bar and the smoke constantly wafts into the bar area from the room. In a matter of 30 seconds I could smell the smoke infesting my hair and clothes. Fortunately our group's table was ready and we were able to sit down in the dining room right away where you could not smell the smoke. Reason 2 is that the server was severely lacking in her customer relations. She actually had the nerve to get the attention of our entire group of 10 to recite the potato choices so she wouldn't have to keep doing it while taking the orders which I thought was inappropriate. read more
