First time ever doing this process. They did an excellent job stripping down the frame for my 1965…read moreImpala. All of the surface rust is gone. All of the paint is gone. It looks like it must have when it was made at the factory. I've seen what a sandblasted frame looks like and now I've seen what a dipped frame looks like. The sandblasted frame has rust inside and hard to get at areas. The dipped frame is spotless inside and out. No missed areas. The surface of the blasted frame is rough and will be difficult to cover and get a good paint finish. The dipped frame will need very little prep and have an excellent finish. The shop is very accommodating to schedule drop off and pick up. They can hold your trailer if you need them to while your stuff is getting dipped. They are willing to work around the weather so your stripped items aren't going out in the rain. Oh, don't forget CASH. I didn't read the top of the invoice when I dropped off my frame. I was only interested that the frame was recorded properly, The top of the invoice says "no credit cards". Imagine my surprise when I got there to pickup. Laura set me straight. Fortunately there is a bank nearby, or maybe your good friend will let you borrow from the Bank of Goodbuddy, like mine did. I'll be back with the body next year. Thanks, Laura.

When We put an addition on the House in 1994..We then had two bathrooms instead of one....So I went to L & R Sandblasting and had them sandblast and paint the register to match the Floor on that original Bath that come with the House. Perfection with High Gloss Oil based Spray paint...great match color. Then We finally remodeled that original Bathroom in 2018 and I wanted this same Register Repainted [as it was of the Highest Quality Metal that was Manufactured back in 1951]. So, I visited them again and was greeted by the Owner's Wife[warm and Caring Person]. I wanted that same register Repainted or sandblasted and then Repainted in a different Color. She immediately pulled out a color Chart and matched it up with My Floor Sample. So, in 10 days to 2 weeks I got a call from Her and She said it was done. So, I picked it up immediately and The Owner had again did a spectacular Job.....Looks really great with our now remodeled Original Bathroom floor. I recommend L & R for any type of Sandblasting, Painting ,Metal Fabrication or any other type of work they do as they take great Care in whatever Job they do for You. 100% Customer Satisfaction. So I had my banister sand blasted after I attempted to remove 5 layers of paint. It was supposed to…read moreonly take 10 business days but they had it for 2 months. They claim they couldn't email me or call me because they lost my number some how ( which was in the email). When I finally got it back I saw they broke my wood rail in the process. They offered to take a substantial amount of money off the price and to drop off the piece they broke because they forgot it. A week later and I still don't have the damn piece. These folks have the nerve to say they are too busy to drop the piece off and want ME to come get it. Don't ever use these guys Michigan Sandblasting, Inc.

My experience started out positive. They cleaned up a second piece without charge after I had…read moreasked what the cost would be and what it would look like. The piece that was actually getting sandblasted and powder coated was another story. Quoted $80 for the piece + $20 rush charge. I don't know how much this stuff usually costs, but it seemed ok. (Now that I read the review from Kevin G, and see what he got done for $120, I'd say my small piece was over priced.) They called the next day to say it was done, when the rush meant it wouldn't be done for another 2 days. (Was the extra $20 rush charge actually necessary if it could be done so soon?) I went to pick up the item later that day and it was beyond TERRIBLE. Like a child had done it, but worse. I can't really explain other than to say it looked like it was dipped in very thick powder coating then laid on its side to dry. There were thick drips and clumps all over. Some of it was already chipping and flaking off. (I didn't think powder coating should be able to do that.) I know, I should have taken pictures. I told them it was awful and needed to be redone, thanked them for wasting my time, and I left. In less than 1 hour, I get another call from them saying it was completed and ready for pick up. Ok, let me ask again, if the total job took less than 1 hour, was the extra $20 rush charge actually necessary? On the voicemail left, they still quoted the same price of $100. Seriously, you think I'm going to pay the $100 after the crappy job, wasting my time and gas, and an unnecessary $20 rush charge? Anyway, when I went to pick it up the second time, it was much better, still not as good as I would have expected, but much better. I don't know who took my payment, as no one through this whole ordeal bothered to give their name, but I told him what I was willing to pay for the piece due to the issues mentioned above. He agreed and took my payment.

Custom Concepts Performance Coatings - The lower cabinets are the best indicator of the work done, though the uppers had the powder coating inside as well.

If I can help another small business succeed and perhaps help someone else find a solution to their niche project (refinishing metal cabinets), then I can save them some time and effort. Okay. Thanks for bearing with my preamble. We could not be happier with our experience refinishing our steel cabinets with Curt. Our kitchen has original St. Charles Kitchen cabinets. These are highly sought after, and we knew we wanted to keep them in the new version of our kitchen, but in a different color. A friend suggested powder coating and I got to work doing my research. Curt is the main choice in Detroit for having items powder coated. His website showed work he'd done big and small for cars and motorcycles... And one set of steel cabinets. I knew he was the guy for the job. He's down to earth and honest. It was always nice to chitchat a bit as we came and went from the shop. His stories of his escape artist dog never failed to get a laugh. The work itself was impeccable. Curt was upfront with us about the possibility of flaws in the paint depending on the surface he was working with, minor imperfections, you know. But nearly every piece came out looking as if it had always been the grey we had picked. We were blown away. We highly recommend Custom Concepts.
