    Jeff's Powder Coating

I dropped my rims off and was guaranteed by the secretary at the front desk that nothing leaves the…read moreshop unless it is perfect. I asked him if they can be completed by a certain date and I said to call me if he could not meet that deadline or if he had any issues. I showed up to pick up my rims to see them swinging from the chains, they were powder coated on, tapping each other and the chain swiping across the front of the rims. I was rushed to put the product within my vehicle without inspection and now I know why. During this time he claimed that he was behind on other projects and the fact that he was understaffed for the day. The next day, I decided to go to another professional before work for a second opinion and he agreed that the imperfections were from contaminants or from improper steps throughout the powder coating process. The day after seeing another professional, I decided to go back and complain about the workmanship and demand a refund. He gave me the same reply that was given by a Google review customer verbatim. His response was that the imperfections caused by contaminants were defects in the casting process of the rim and that it was normal for this to happen within the powder coating process in which he called "gassing". One small Google search told me otherwise. This is not the case because the rims that he received from me were mint condition and are originally powder coated from the Chrysler/Jeep factory without any flaws whatsoever, he even claimed this when we spoke as I was picking them up. There is nothing more to say than this problem arose from a lack of quality control. He wanted to blame everything on the rim casting process, powder coating process and being understaffed. He did not take ownership for his problem which is lack of responsibility and I feel the issue needs to be reprimanded. I will be going to another professional to have the process redone entirely and properly. I am out $500, my time, and fuel expenses, 70 miles roundtrip, at this moment. On departure he tried to ask me what year the vehicle was that they were going on to defend himself, I told him that doesn't matter and has nothing to do with the lack of quality for the service you provided me with. This is like sticking the knife in and twisting to a comeback customer of 4 different business transactions, all previously were very good for the most part. I am even more irritated by the fact that all other the other rims at on location looked perfect including his personal truck, the rims in the lobby and not to mention all the photos on his Instagram/Facebook. Furthermore, I filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I guess with his reputation and ego he thinks he can sweep me under the rug. Hopefully your expectations don't turn into a gamble. I will NOT be returning to this business.

    Michigan Sandblasting - Banister after

They claim they couldn't email me or call me because they lost my number some how ( which was in the email). When I finally got it back I saw they broke my wood rail in the process. They offered to take a substantial amount of money off the price and to drop off the piece they broke because they forgot it. A week later and I still don't have the damn piece. These folks have the nerve to say they are too busy to drop the piece off and want ME to come get it. Don't ever use these guys Michigan Sandblasting, Inc.

The piece that was actually getting sandblasted and powder coated was another story. Quoted $80 for the piece + $20 rush charge. I don't know how much this stuff usually costs, but it seemed ok. (Now that I read the review from Kevin G, and see what he got done for $120, I'd say my small piece was over priced.) They called the next day to say it was done, when the rush meant it wouldn't be done for another 2 days. (Was the extra $20 rush charge actually necessary if it could be done so soon?) I went to pick up the item later that day and it was beyond TERRIBLE. Like a child had done it, but worse. I can't really explain other than to say it looked like it was dipped in very thick powder coating then laid on its side to dry. There were thick drips and clumps all over. Some of it was already chipping and flaking off. (I didn't think powder coating should be able to do that.) I know, I should have taken pictures. I told them it was awful and needed to be redone, thanked them for wasting my time, and I left. In less than 1 hour, I get another call from them saying it was completed and ready for pick up. Ok, let me ask again, if the total job took less than 1 hour, was the extra $20 rush charge actually necessary? On the voicemail left, they still quoted the same price of $100. Seriously, you think I'm going to pay the $100 after the crappy job, wasting my time and gas, and an unnecessary $20 rush charge? Anyway, when I went to pick it up the second time, it was much better, still not as good as I would have expected, but much better. I don't know who took my payment, as no one through this whole ordeal bothered to give their name, but I told him what I was willing to pay for the piece due to the issues mentioned above. He agreed and took my payment.
