We really like this park. We've camped here several times when passing through Grants Pass on the way to CA. Most of the RV sites have trees [lovely ponderosa and oak] and some of the sites face the Rogue River. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Note: if your trailer is longer than 20 ft, don't get site 14 [backup]. It's set on a hairpin turn and between 2 trees. It's doable [we did with our 24 ft], but not an easy back in. We're super thankful for our camping neighbors who spent 15 min guiding us in!! read more

I stopped by Schroeder Park on a Wednesday at around 3. There was one RV there. I buzzed the camp host. Said it was reservation only. but I could pay 40 cash. I was a bit put off an I had an assumption of were that money may go. I understand it they may be busier than this. seems like there could be a much better system. I respectfully declined. not sure what the point of the camp host is there. read more

After a whole night and awaking we pulled out. It was anamazing quite night. However the morning came and it was time to pull out. The rig our 40 DP was extremely difficult to get out of park. We caught two Bay doors on a tree that grew sideways and tore our roof on a tree branch. So for bigger rigs this is not the place unless you stay up on the very top loop , which wasn't offered to us. read more

I generally don't like to complain, and surely don't on a public forum, but hey I just discovered Yelp and I'm still kinda mad about this one so here it goes... Planning a recent trip to Grants Pass, I tried to call in to reserve a spot at this campground via phone a few days before my trip. After getting the phone tree run around for over twenty minutes, I had to settle for the "reservations only, but walk ins are accepted on first come first serve basis" statement on the phone tree rather than wait for another twenty minutes and hoped it was going to be ok taking them at face value. Upon arrival, there was a sign stating "no walk ins, reservations only" and apparently a camp host who lived there that didn't help campers. A groundskeeper tried to help me, telling me there were several open spaces and called his supervisor. His supervisor told me that he couldn't help me and the Parks and Rec office was closed so I couldn't go there for help. He told me there was a single employee working the phones for all of parks and rec and I should leave a message about getting a reservation that way. After driving through the campground and confirming there were at least three sites not reserved, I called and left a message when no one answered to request a site. Several hours later, long after I found other accommodations, I received a voice mail from the person at parks and rec stating that they didn't take walk ins and couldn't give me a reservation for the same day. I am baffled at the policies and lack of service that would turn away fees they wouldn't get otherwise, conflicting information on the phone tree, and the near act of congress it took just to get an answer from a public office during regular business hours. The whole issue stemmed from no one answering the phone the first time days before so the second time would indicate a trend of poor management of the overall system and I wonder how the rest of the department is run. read more

Schroeder Park itself is lovely. I am giving 1star for the very rude camp host that was there at about 5:30 pm on 03/29/23. I live locally & came to check how busy the campground is in late March. i did not see a single person in the campground. As a life long camper, I knew to drive slowly. i kept my speed to under 15 miles an hour, which considering that i could clearly see there was no one in the entire small, flat, clear campground, was adequate. As l approached the exit, the camp host stuck his head over the fence & said " Hey you, dont speed in here! the limit is 8 miles an hour!" I replied "Oh i didn't know it was that low. Since i was the only person here, i thought (15 mph ) was appropriate. I did not see an 8 mph sign." He just said, "there were kids here & you could have hit one." i'm a lifelong teacher, as well as camper. it my job to know my surroundings, especially the presence of children. It's my job to keep children safe. And i do both automatically. So this camp host did not know how observant i am as an experienced. teacher, and failed to notice that i kept my speed to 15 mph even while no one was there. i did not know the speed limit at this park was 8mph (it's more often a max of 15mph in my experience). Asking me a couple questions could have helped me embrace his concerns. instead he made me feel like I wasn't safe around this guy. i have friends who like to be summer camp hosts & i know their job is to welcome & help everyone have a fun, safe experience. i do not object to being asked to follow a rule that i may not know about. But this man's tone was condenscendibg & aggressive. Rather than help me understand the park rule, his goal was clearly to vilify & expel. In fact, he glared at me while i slowly exited the park, as if i'd been trespassing on his property. His demeanor was the exact opposite of what a true camp host is supposed to be. We live locally. & have Family & friends who frequent this park. If my family, friends or I are ever treated thus by this aggressive man again, i will do more than write a review. i will be personally speaking to his supervisor(s). Ps. i recommend a very large unavoidable sign indicating an 8mph driving limit at the gate & throughout park. Most of us Want to follow the rules, but it helps to see the signs! read more

we have just returned from our annual weeklong camping trip. We reserved the yurt plus had four more sites. This is one of our favorite close to home campgrounds the river access is amazing! We always enjoy floating the river, whether it be on an innertube a Tahiti, a raft or a canoe. And our absolute favorite jet boat water fights with the dinner cruise every night at 8 PM. We love our camp host ,for the third year in a row, Samantha!! She is absolutely amazing and her team has done a great job keeping the park clean safe and fun! Paul has done an extremely awesome job of clearing out the blackberry bushes along the riverbank. It was so nice to be able to see the river from our site. And also have more area on the shore to just soak in the cool river. The bathrooms were always kept fully stocked and were cleaned throughout the day. The tent area looked clean as well, but we did not use that area. We have been camping at Schroeder Park for maybe eight years now. And every year the park always has some improvements and it's nice to see what is done during the off-season. There are no longer riffraff homeless activities going on. So don't believe the rumors....you need to check out the park for yourself! There is also a playground and dog park offsite from the campground that our kids rode their bikes to. It's also also easy walk since it's just the next driveway. we hope to see Samantha again next year when we return for our annual camp trip! She is always friendly and helpful and answers any questions or concerns that we have. Her team this year did an extraordinary job and they all work so hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay! see you next year in 2025 read more

This place is sketch city! Do not stay here!!!! I did not feel safe one bit as it was empty in the first place... Drug deals were happening in the overflow parking lot between a red Toyota 4Runner, and a white Mercedes SUV. One little boy who we asked if he liked the area said, "there's lots of fights that happen here". It also looked as if people were living there in their tents. read more

The park itself isn't anything special. In fact it's not special in the slightest. It's a city park, basically a step above Walmart parking. But the staff were so friendly and it was very reasonably priced for full hookups. read more

We stayed here and did the tent camping and I wouldn't recommend staying if you want to rest or have kids. People kept driving in till about midnight and people partying till about 2am and being loud. The place was clean and the host were friendly. read more

The campground hosts were lovely and kept a tight ship. Unfortunately we were down by the tent loop and a ton of suspicious activity happened during our stay. Bathrooms were ok, sites were full of microtrash. Cheap electric sites (3) were convenient. If it wasn't for the drug deals going on in the park- would get 3-4 stars. At least the sketchy people let left us alone! read more

Nice, clean, quiet, campground just a short walk away from the Rogue River. We had campsite 16 which was a nice large spot, great for kids to play on, or their a ball around but it was a little noisy during the day as it backs to a road going to the boat ramp and boarding neighborhoods. At night it was nice and quiet. The campground had full hookups for RVs which was great. We're used to camping in CA state parks which never have hookups. The river is just a short walk and there are a few places to set up chairs. Although there may be more shore on a normal precipitation year, this year had lots of rain so the river may be higher than normal. Definitely worth a stay if in the area. read more

Wow. A great park located on the Rogue River. Beautiful shade trees made campsites cooler. A little beach area on the Rogue. We have a 35 ft class A. Nice size pull thrus however a bit tight due to trees. Camp hosts were fabulous. Less than fifteen minutes to downtown Grants Pass. Perfect for families with kids. The only negative is no laundry. However I was told they are working in that. We will come back again soon. read more
