We came here on a whim. Had zero plans for the day while visiting family. It was a scorcher outside. Two hours was plenty of time to have fun and get wet. I will say it was LOuD and the chlorine burned my eyeballs for the rest of the day BUT well worth it. Three kids ages 8, 5 and 2 one senior and one husband that could've passed on going. We had a great time splashing around and hitting the slides. The facility is super clean, the people working are friendly and the lifeguards were working their tails off. I'm a retired park and recreation professional who happened to be in town and connected with two of the master minds behind the project. They invited us for a tour and what a treat it was. I have been involved with several high level facilities in the past including North Clackamas Aquatic Park. Rogue X is perfectly scaled and located to serve the Rogue Valley. It is a beautiful facility that provides a large pallet of activity for a large variety of user groups and still maintains the ability to grow to accommodate more users and varieties of activities. My family recently visited this local government-run aquatic and event center for open swim, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, we were told the pool was at capacity. While we completely understand the need to follow occupancy limits for safety, what was frustrating was watching people leave while being told we still couldn't enter because those guests "might come back." A more efficient system would be to simply ask guests who are leaving whether they're finished swimming for the day. If they are, staff could cut off or collect their wristbands before they leave. With two employees at the front desk, this process would take very little effort and would allow more families to enjoy the facility without ever exceeding the maximum capacity. It would also better serve local residents and taxpayers while maximizing revenue for the facility. If capacity management can't be changed, another opportunity would be to provide alternative activities for families who are waiting. The facility has multiple rooms and a large court area that could be used for simple activities like bounce houses, open play, or other kid-friendly options. Instead, families are left standing or wandering through empty hallways with nothing to do, which isn't a great experience--especially for young children. Communication could also be improved significantly. It would take less than 10 seconds to update the facility's website or social media pages when an open swim session reaches capacity. Even better, an automated system could provide real-time capacity updates so families don't spend 5 to 30 minutes driving only to be turned away with no warning. Finally, customer service could be much more welcoming. Being told you can't enter is understandable when a facility is full, but the way that message is delivered matters. A friendly explanation, an apology for the inconvenience, and suggestions for alternatives or the next available swim session would go a long way toward creating a positive experience. Overall, there are several simple, low-cost improvements that could make this facility more efficient, more family-friendly, and more responsive to the community it serves. read more

This place is ridiculous!! They charge you just to watch your family swim!! Even if you don't swim!

This is solely on the pools. The lap pool is very nice. But definitely missing the diving piece. The recreational pool is decent for southern Oregon. The hours are horrible! Why would you only have it open for 2 hour blocks at a time? If it's because of guarding then they are not rotating properly or doing breaks correctly. Otherwise have it open 11-7 no 2 hour blocks. It makes it a waste of time and money for parents that want to spend the day there. What are you supposed to do with your kids for the hour break... there isn't an outside play area. I've done 6+ swim lesson sessions for tadpoles and they have not been consistent at all. Better than the ymca. Locker rooms are clean. read more

A decent, much needed addition to Medford. This review is solely for the aquatics area. The kids had fun on the 2 slides and lazy river but moved on to the lap pools after about 1/2 hr. 1st timers here, but long time tax payers... would've like to have seen more to do for kids 11 and up. Seemed to be super popular with elementary level kiddos. It's just hard to stomach the price tag taxpayers paid while still paying entry to a mediocre, modern facility. Would've been great if it were more along the lines of Wings and Waves in McMinnville- 4 huge slides, big wave pool AND play structure, whirlpool etc. (something for all ages there). Either way it is what it is since they filled in Hawthorne pool and shut down Jackson pool (both of which had awesome diving boards at least, lol). Just kinda MEH here... read more

The Rogue Credit Union's ROGUE X is an amazing spacious indoor sports complex. First of all. One half of the complex has eight (8) Basketball / Volleyball and Pickle Ball courts. It also has several party and meeting rooms The other half has two (2) massive swimming pools. The recreation pool has two water slides and a lazy river I enjoy going to the 13 lane Olympic lap pool My insurance pays for a membership for me to try to keep in shape so instead of me going to a gym I got a monthly senior pass to Rogue X and the insurance company pays for it. I can use the facility almost every day of the year but My goal is twice a week. There is plenty of free parking and the locker rooms/ restrooms are spacious and exceptionally clean. Prices vary depending on where you live your age and if you get a family or individual pass. This is a wonderful addition to the Rogue Valley Southern Oregon area read more

I took my children for a daytime open swim time in the activity pool. The activity pool room was quite warm, creating a comfortable temperature to swim in. The pool was also a comfortable temperature, I'd estimate about 86°. The lazy river was the warmest area of the pool. My friend enjoys swimming laps and said the lap pool is not as warm as the activity pool. The activity pool consists of a beach entry with gentle-consistent geysers, perfect for toddlers. The shallow area includes a play structure with side-by-side racing slides that are appropriate for young kids and yet wide enough for adults to play with their kids. The beach entry deepens to a seemingly max depth of 3' and includes a lazy river. Inner tubes are provided to float down the lazy river, as well as swimming. The lazy river branches into a separate gentle whirlpool, lined with seats, to rest in the pool temp while the water current gently circulates in a counter-clockwise direction. The activity pool area also has two larger water slides with a 48" height requirement. There is a curvy slide and is surprisingly pitch black. The other slide is a steep drop, but it's the perfect height to be thrilling yet too short to get scared and also the slide has a nice padding treatment so it's a more comfortable ride. Life jackets and pool noodles are also provided poolside. My children brought a football, which the lifeguards welcomed them to throw in the pool. The lifeguards were kind and helpful, and appropriately enforced a no climbing on barriers separating sections, but otherwise didn't blow whistles nor yell, creating an environment we could relax and enjoy. read more

This location had something for everyone . You couldn't ask for more. Something for the kids and the adults

This was really fun place for families. Went with my friend and her grandkids. They had a blast. We had small children and it was nice because it accommodated all ages. The kids we brought were 2 and 6. They enjoyed the smaller area with slides in the shallow end. There is also a lazy river. Only complaints I had were bigger kids 9/10 aged were in barreling through the little kid section with little regard to the smaller children. Several times knocking smaller kids down, and not paying attention to their surroundings. Also toilets were in the family changing rooms and there were only 6 it's a large facility with lots of people. The six year old had to pee and all the rooms were full and he ended up peeing his pants. Needs actual restrooms that aren't also changing rooms because people are in there for extended amounts of time using showers etc. read more

I give it four stars for the fact that it's a fun place for the kids. The pool temp is very comfortable, however, the life guards are seriosuly rude. I understand that they are there to help keep everyone safe, but today I witnessed a lifeguard grab a child aggressively by the arm because she was jumping over the wall. They blew their whistle at the smallest things like feeling the fountain that was on the other side of the barrier wall. I found it unpleasant and uncomfortable to relax. They all also exchange looks to each other very bluntly on how they are finding people annoying. read more
