I saw that almost every review was 5 stars. There was one person who gave them a 1 star and I know after being in business for over 30 years there is always that one person. So I called ahead to see if there was anything special that I needed to bring with me. The lady on the phone was very helpful. She said that when I got to the location they would set me up. When I arrived it was busy. The young lady working there was working with one customer filling his tanks and another was just ahead of me. When it was my turn she walked me through what I would need (new adaptors so I could use my RV's current hook ups and regulator). She was very helpful and pleasant. She kept everyone in order and was on top of it. I told her that I pick this place because of the reviews and she said that she was proud of doing a good job. She also mentioned the negative review that was posted and said the guy never came to her location. He mentioned the receptionist as being rude and there is no receptionist on sight. Just her and the 2 awesome dogs in the office. Anyway I had an amazing first experience at Affordable Propane from the first call to getting my 2 tanks filled. The price was 1/2 of what I would hav3e paid at the other locations I called. So although the reviews were better I also came for the price as well. It was a win win and I will be back.

But I'm here to review Schrader propane, its great service and the old fella who showed up in a bobtail to service my tank was the most knowledgable propane professional I ever did meet, his name was John and he was a helluva dude and a great bobtail driver, he answered every single one of my questions in depth and even dropped a ton of knowledge on me about propane that I had no idea about. I won't even begin to explain the anxiety it raised. That was January. Luckily the driver put new valves on the tank and refilled. But we were never reimbursed fully for the loss. It turns out this tank had a similar issue with the prior owner which we were not made aware of. And now we've switched service providers and it's May. I cannot get them to pick up their tank nor give me a date that will happen.

When I called to get some help the lady said that I probably just used it and that I need to buy some more. Their service tech told me years ago he was going to replace the leaky valve and never did. I wonder how much I lost over the years. I asked how much their propane was and they were double the cost of every other company I called after I was off the phone with them. Regarding other people's complaints, you have to remember that when you are in the mountains, things don't always happen as fast as you might have been used to elsewhere. Running an efficient and cost-effective business sometimes may mean putting orders together in a batch to save on trips. (The van's customization was done in Texas.) The owner himself came out to talk with me and talked me through his idea for a solution. He quoted me what I thought was a very reasonable price and they completed the work in a few hours. He gave me a thorough rundown on how the new system worked and things to look out for.
