I drove into town looking for an auto shop to check if it was safe to drive back to Boulder, and Up Top was the first place I saw--so I pulled in. The owner could not have been kinder. He immediately stopped what he was doing, took the time to look under the car and the hood, and quickly figured out the issue (an O-ring that wasn't sealing properly). I was so appreciative of how willing he was to help on the spot. He even mentioned that some of his customers drive all the way from Colorado Springs to have their cars serviced here--which says a lot! If you're in Estes and need an honest, helpful mechanic, Up Top is absolutely the place to go.

I called Brandon and he said they could work on it first thing the next day. I get a quote via text for OVER $1000. I asked if I could break the charge up (silly me) and was told I wouldn't be able to get my car back. I declined any work to be done and went to pick up my keys and they wouldn't let me leave until I paid a $200 SERVICE FEE. This was due to the HOUR he claimed it took them to diagnose the issue (which I had already told them) this is mentioned NO WHERE. Even when I talked to Brandon TWO TIMES. he said nothing about a service fee if I declined service. He said there's some clause in the drop off forms but that ALSO does not say anything about a possible service fee. Terrible business practice. Do not go here.

They towed the car at 1:30pm that day, and didn't even look at it. We call the next morning and the man on the phone was rude, saying he can't work in these conditions and nothing is wrong with it. Which was not true it stalled 2 times up the mountain. Very rude and disrespectful. and just seemed upset that we were even asking for help. Eventually we managed to get the car to a different shop and it wasn't just the alternator, it was the thermostat and the serpentine belt that was ruined, so no, "nothing's wrong with it" was a complete and blatant lie. DO NOT go to them, especially if you are from out of town and they don't want to help in a bad situation

I had gone on a day trip with my aunt who was visiting from out of state when my car began having issues near Estes, looked up a number of local shops in the area and stumbled upon some great reviews regarding similar situations for Mountain Imports.
