Worst experience with an optometrist ever.
First, I waited almost two hours from my scheduled appointment time before I was called back to the exam room.
Then, once I was in the exam room, Dr. Schoonover would leave the room several times to go tend to other, very nonessential things, like chatting with her friends in the waiting room that would come to visit.
Both before and after my appointment, I was practically harassed by the receptionist to pick out a pair of glasses to purchase even after I made it clear I had no intention of purchasing glasses that day. It was only after I told her that I forgot my wallet at home that she stopped hounding me.
After that appointment I was pretty fed up and decided I would never be going back there.
But it gets worse.
I took the prescription Dr. Schoonover gave me for contact lenses and ordered a 1-year supply online as I have for several years now. That was a few months ago and ever since, I've found myself having terrible headaches when I wear these contacts. My eyes are also just all around uncomfortable when I have them in. I tried putting in new pairs and have still had the same issues.
After some convincing, I finally decided to make an appointment with another optometrist to see what could possibly be wrong with my eyes that they are seemingly "rejecting" these contact lenses that I have worn for so many years.
As it turns out.. the prescription Dr. Schoonover wrote for my contact lenses is the wrong fit. I get that they are just contact lenses, but if you went to a medical doctor and s/he prescribed you the wrong medicine, it would be a pretty freaking big deal!!
So as if I wasn't already disgusted enough with this doctor, that really put me over the edge. I cannot stress enough to anyone reading this... DO NOT GO TO HER!!!! read more
