AVOID THIS URGENT CARE AT ALL COSTS - Completely Unprofessional and Negligent!! I've never written a negative review before, but my experience with this urgent care was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to share it. I visited on February 5th for vertigo and was met with a series of issues that reflect gross mismanagement and disregard for patient care. 1. Two-Hour Wait in a Room With No Explanation After being taken into a room, I sat for two full hours without any communication from staff. No updates, no nurse, no doctor--just left sitting there. That alone would have warranted concern, but unfortunately, it only got worse. 2. Wrong Blood Test Results As someone on an immunosuppressant, my white blood cell and vitamin D levels are always low--this is well-documented. The results they gave me were completely normal, which immediately raised red flags. I followed up with my neurologist the next day and had my labs redone. Sure enough, the new results matched my usual levels--not the ones provided by this urgent care. This suggests either a mix-up or a serious error in reporting results. 3. Prescription Nightmare I was prescribed Zofran for vertigo I have been having for days and was told it would be ready within an hour. The pharmacy never received the order. I had to call multiple times over FOUR DAYS (Wednesday through Saturday), and each time I was told it would be sent over. I finally got my medication five minutes before the pharmacy closed on Saturday. Absolutely unacceptable for something that should have been done the same day and was left dealing with my symptoms without medication. 4. Unauthorized and Mysterious Billing Then, on May 22nd (over 3 months later) I was suddenly charged $164 from my bank account without any prior notice or explanation. When I called, I was rudely told, "Well, that would be your deductible..." My deductible for urgent care is $50, not $164. And even if there was an issue, why wasn't I billed at the time of service instead of nearly four months later? I called to dispute the charge and was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. At this point, I've involved my lawyer because this kind of billing practice is highly questionable, if not illegal. This urgent care failed on every single level. Communication, accuracy of medical testing, timely delivery of care, and responsible billing. I should have written this review after the prescription fiasco, but the billing issue was the final straw. If you value your health, your time, and your money, go elsewhere. This clinic has demonstrated a complete inability (or unwillingness) to provide even basic patient care. They do not do their jobs, and I do not trust them, and definitely will never step foot in this place again.

They completely dismissed and discounted my mother's complaints and sent her home with a broken bone in her spine. Fortunately, the doctor's here took a fresh look and found this fracture and a couple other problems that had been ignored by her other primary care doctors. The ER Dr. White was amazing and had wonderful bedside manner. He actually seemed to care, how incredible is that?! Nothing like getting a full explanation on the current care and future plan for helping my mother get out of the hospital and continue on in her golden years. The next days he wasn't getting any better and returned to the ER because he couldn't walk or use his arms at all. After returning for the second visit his was admitted for Spinal Stenosis, after MRI his entire body. A few days later he had two surgeries on 2 separate days and they both went well. The after care was the problem . The hospital seemed understaffed and his pain management and toileting needs weren't handled well at all. He was transferred to another part of the hospital where the nurses weren't as busy, that was a complete fail. He needed help with the urinal because he couldn't grip or pick up anything at that time. The call lights weren't answered in a timely manner and resulted in him urinating on himself and all over the floor more than once. He was also accused of being inappropriate because he grunted at the end of urinating trying to assure he emptied his bladder! Somehow the nurse and or CNA's took the grunt in a sexual way . Kwaniqua (she goes by Nikki) was the only hands on employee that didn't take that the wrong way. When I arrived from NY my husbands was filthy and there was sticky urine all around his bed. I bathed him and shaved him but he couldn't wait to leave there. I work in healthcare so I was really bothered by the condition of his room . I'm unsure who's job it is to call house keeping but every employee that entered the room had to know the floor needed to be cleaned! The discharge was pretty smooth except his disability paperwork wasn't forwarded to the surgeons office and as a result he didn't get paid. We had to drive back to Pa for a virtual visit because the surgeons license is for PA only, not a big deal but the lack of communication was. 3/13/2026 we're still waiting for paperwork because of a release that was needed. So many balls were dropped related to getting these papers filled out I'm still baffled. Thanks to Bailey in the Orthopedic Office for picking up the ball for the rest of her fellow employees and employer! It took Bailey one day to figure out what many couldn't for whole 60 days. We have the portal set up, paperwork uploaded and his 2nd follow up appt scheduled , all within 24 hours!

The wait time was quick, she was triaged in just a few minutes and being treated just a few minutes after that. The facility is really clean and everything looks new and well taken care of. That's me, I'm that patient. Let's talk about the environment. I arrived at the ER yesterday at 10 AM. Everything was going relatively quick and I was placed in the hallway. I spent the my time listening to a man scream for help in the room that was next to me, where the nurses waited for me to beg for them to shut his door or to please move me, was put on display for everyone to hear my business and glare as they walked by, and waited around for medication to be issued that was ordered at 10am and not received until 4:30pm. It took over three hours to get an ultrasound... in what world? No other progression, just waiting for an ultrasound, sitting in the hallway where HIPAA apparently doesn't exist. When they finally decided to admit me for surgery is when I was giving anything for the severe panic attacks I was having for the full duration. THAT'S 6 HOURS LATER. THESE ARE THINGS THAT ARE ON MY CHART AND PRESCRIBE TO ME. The lack of communication and misinformation spread here is obscene. If it's a staffing issue, fix it. Maybe lack of training in this type of environment? All I know is that I'm extremely disappointed in the experience and will choose Wilkes Barre General for future visits.
