I got seen right away, the providers are knowledgeable, and they called the next day to check on me. Great service.

The secretary and nurses were absolutely horrible and lazy. There was one other person there and I was waiting for an hour and a half.

I never left the building she points to where she stated. I looked over there for you and you weren't there. I was sitting in the exact seat she pointed too. when she took all my information the first visit to the window. she was "registering me". when I revisited the window she claimed I was never registered and now would have to wait another hour to two hours . this is absolutely ridiculous. once again I am trying to talk and explain and she continues to cut me off and speak over me not listening to any information I was providing. she is rude and has no "bed side manner". for clients who are coming in sick. if you don't want to do your job correctly please hire another person who wants to do their job properly. and who is listening and caring to your clients coming in to seek help.

I enjoyed my experience here compared to Wilkesbarre general hospital. Everyone swears by the deliciousness of the smoothie bar (I personally never got it tho). Beware this is trauma center so the ED can be very chaotic at times with long waits for beds but they get to you eventually based on the severity & level of care needed to make you feel better. The labor and delivery ward here is the really good compared to the others I've been to; it also has a Nicu for babies. (But if I had to choose a place to deliver, Geisinger CMC in Scranton labor and delivery is so much nicer but better suited for moms with uncomplicated pregnancies as they don't have a NICU.) My main downside to coming here was how far away the parking lot was & can be challenging to find a closer spot. But to help they do have shuttles that runs till about 4am & can pick you up and take up to the front of the hospital.

I was induced, couldnt get past 4cm dilated for 3 days, tried the foley balloon TWICE. After the first foley balloon, was so painful, the midwife said word for word to me "if you can't handle this, how do you think you're going to be able to handle birth" I started passing out from the meds and i was hyperventilating in my sleep due to the trauma. Also while I was screaming in pain from the foley balloon she kept demanding me to stop tensing and squeezing but the pain was so unbearable. Don't get me wrong, the nurses in L&D were fantastic, absolute angels. but that midwife should change her career. Anyways, in those 3 days they attempted a foley balloon a 2nd time. Thank god for the epideral that only lasted an hour. When they popped my water it was just as bad as the foley balloon. The OBGYN that time suggested a c section and that she'll talk to the surgeon/doctor. Well... he came in and advised against a c section, he also said that the OBGYN that mentioned the c section to us, didn't mention it to him in that way. Eventually, I requested it anyways. After 3 long days, I also couldn't get out of bed due to preeclampsia. When I requested the C section, the surgeon came in and said "So you're throwing in the towel" making me feel like I was GIVING UP AND DOING SOMETHING WRONG. How terrifying it was. My son was born 2 hours after I requested a C section, by C section. He is also the happiest and healthiest boy. LADIES, trust in yourself, your body and your support system. MOVING ON... I had recently visited the emergency room for the urge to throw up was unbearable, sweating, chills, cold sweats. They just gave me IV fluids, and ANTIPSYCHOTIC for the nausea and sent me on my way. I WENT BACK 5x in a week and a half for the same symptoms. And all 5x they did the same thing. Iv fluids, and antipsychotic and sent me on my way. Come to find out, I had H. Pylori bacterial infection in my stomach the entire time. It wasn't until I called a doctor elsewhere and asked for help. That doctor I saw elsewhere saw I had H.Pylori 2 years ago and instantly sent me for a test. I had lost 26 lbs in 5 days. The ER knew that. One of the 5 visits, I knew I had H.Pylori, it was in my MYCHART, I told them I was diagnosed with it but the symptoms were unbearable for I had been waiting days to figure out what's wrong due to their lack of actually trying to figure it out. They told me that H.Pylori is usually an outpatient problem With a prescriber. I'm sorry, what? And again, IV fluids, but this time a pill(my reason for coming in was i threw up my antibiotics). The doctor prescribed me an anti nausea medication that has to be accepted by my insurance, it's been 4 days since that visit and the doctor I saw in the Emergency Room still hasn't responded to the insurance message or whatever. Thankfully, after that 5th visit I haven't had to go back and I've been able to keep the antibiotics down. Ps; when this happened 2 years ago, it was the same scenario. No tests, just an IV fluid and antibiotic and sent me. Wasn't until I reached out to an actual doctor to figure it out. I pray I don't ever have to bring my son here for anything. I couldn't bare to see him go through something like this with people who are supposed to help you.

If I could give no stars, I would. I had Dr. Sordoni as my PCP for years and had no complaints…read more This woman took her practice over when she retired, and so I ended up with her. I saw her exactly once, but dealt with her twice. The first time was during an unusually stressful time in my life. I asked her for meds to help me cope with stress and the myriad of physical symptoms I was experiencing as a result of it. She told me to "take a vacation" despite the fact that I had just confided in her that I was experiencing an extreme financial hardship, and said that I was "seeking pills." I'm a licensed mental health professional who has never been prescribed any kind of pills in my life other than occasional antibiotics and a scrip for acid reflux medicine that I never filled. It was quite discouraging that the one and only time that I had ever sought assistance with a mental health issue, I was made to feel like a drug addict. Needless to say, I rode that storm out over the next two years and didn't dare ask for help again. The second time I dealt with her was about a year later over the phone. I live alone and had a 104 fever and was dizzy. I called the office and begged, through a strained voice, if she could please see me or call an antibiotic in to my pharmacy. She insisted I had the flu and refused to schedule an appointment. I insisted she was wrong. I'm in my mid 30's. I know what the flu feels like, and this was not it. She hesitantly agreed to call in an antibiotic for me and asked what pharmacy I used. I called the pharmacy later that day. Nothing. I had a friend call later still after my voice had completely failed me. Nothing. I called the next day. No record of her sending anything. I got into my car and drove my very dizzy and borderline narcoleptic self to an urgent care clinic where I was diagnosed with an ear infection, a sinus infection, bronchitis, and a few other things. I left with an antibiotic. Go figure. I also got some cough syrup, pain relievers, ear drops and a nasal spray. They asked me why I hadn't made an appointment with my PCP. After telling them what had happened, they urged me to switch doctors. So I urge anyone reading this to do the same. If you expect to be taken seriously and treated like a semi-intelligent human being with any insight concerning your own body and needs, don't go to Dr. Desai.
