There are a lot of advertisements for Schooners which can sometimes be a bad sign however this spot was one of our favorites from our trip to PCB. Tons of parking (large lot across the street, smaller lot right in front and another just around the corner) local vibe, friendly staff, great food and even better views. If the views are super important to you, ask for a high top table. Our low top was near the back door so we could easily see out but I could see where your view could be obstructed from other spots. If you are looking for the ultimate Panama City Beach experience, Schooners is the place to be. There is just something about the atmosphere here. It is open, airy, and very laid back. There was a slight wait to be seated and there were people already waiting. They told us 15-20 minutes, but sat us in about 7 minutes. When we entered the restaurant, I was disappointed to see half the place with open tables, and wondered why they told us 15-20 minutes. Very weird. A little disconnected here. We were seated and our server was quick to meet us. We ordered drinks and the following apps: Loco Shrimp $13.00 Deep-fried shrimp tossed in sweet chili buffalo sauce served with celery & bleu cheese dressing or ranch; Loco Wings $9.00 Crisp & juicy... The perfect hangover cure or perfect anytime, tossed in sweet chili buffalo sauce, served with celery & bleu cheese dressing or ranch; Smoked Tuna Dip $15.00 Served with tortilla chips & sliced jalapeños; and Fried Founder Bites $12.00 Golden fried founder bites served with tartar sauce. For Entrees, we ordered The Flounder Tacos, Bacon Blue Salad, Chicken Fingers, East End Fish Tacos, and Jerked Chicken Sandwich. We also had sides of fries and hush puppies (they were the perfect level of sweet, savory, and a fresh crunch.) The sodas and teas were all free refills. Everything we ordered came out cooked perfectly...to my liking. The buffalo sauce was a little tame for my taste. The Flounder tasted a bit "fishy" but still good nonetheless. The Jerked Chicken was the winner for me. It was cooked perfectly, well but juicy. I added bacon and it just was the "icing on the cake." Yes yes yes! We have already decided that when we return to PCB this will be a must for dinner or lunch every single time. There was about a 45 minute wait for dinner but it was well worth it and there was a bar where you can order drinks while you wait. The grouper sandwich was phenomenal and my husband loved his jerked chicken sandwich. The views are absolutely amazing whether you sit inside or outside because it's super open. Go here! We wanted a restaurant that has crab claws and was on the water. We are staying in Mexico beach and decided to take a drive to Panama City for lunch. Definitely worth the drive. We actually were seated immediately with a perfect view of the beach. Our server Wes was very pleasant , attentive and answered all our questions. This restaurant is lucky to have him as a server. Hubby and I ordered Bushwackers. Also Ordered smoked tuna for appetizer. Hubby had the sautéed crab claws and hush puppies. He loved the crab claws and hush puppies. I had a small Caesar salad with blackened chicken. Salad was really small and the chicken overpowered the dish. I didn't really have much of the salad. Chicken was nicely seasoned. We visited an early February. We had no wait for a table. The service was quick and friendly. I ordered a white peach sangria, which was delicious. Our entrées included Sunset Shrimp. It was half a pound of shrimp and he subbed out the cocktail sauce for the tartar sauce. The shrimp were fresh and fried beautifully. The french fries were crispy and tasty. I ordered the East End Fish Tacos with the blackened grouper. Tacos were delicious with a slaw and pico de gallo. We were seated at a high top at the back of the restaurant, with windows facing the beach. An incredible view! Returned for another round before heading west. Landed at 2:30P for the 3P discount. Seated at about 3:15P. Morgan was our server, friendly and efficient. Split the Crab Cakes appetizer. Really good deal at 1/2 off. Two nicely browned cakes loaded with chunks of crab. Perched on iceberg lettuce and touch of diced fruit along with a small portion of spicy sauce. Wifey went with the flounder basket and a side salad. Two medium sized filets, blackened and grilled perfectly. Came with a couple of hush puppies. I went with the chicken tender basket. Nothing special to report. Had a side salad with blue cheese dressing. Salads were fresh and hearty. We wrapped up with chocolate lava cake. Decadent cake with warm chocolate filling. Lucky to arrive when they're having their half off special. We heard about the half off special take your bill and divide by two. So we thought we would head to schooners and give it a try. We had popcorn, shrimp, dinner, grouper dinner, and crab dinner. The food was above expectations, it was a large piece of grouper. Perfectly cooked. Even though shrimp was not overcooked. The best part to compliment the dinner, was the sunset.. one of those perfect multicolored sunsets When the bill came with multiple drinks and dinner, it was just over $50 for three ....what a wonderful treat and at a great value. Even if they didn't have the half off special , the food as well worth going there. We waited for an ocean front table. It was only about 20 minutes. Our server was Brittney and she was on the ball. We were looking for something a little different and she suggested the whipped feta with sun dried tomatoes, olives and cucumber. Wow talk about a taste sensation. It was awesome. She also suggested the shrimp and grits. It was another home run. The large shrimp had excellent flavor as did the grits. Matt our server was super amazing!! He came within 2 mins of sitting. He gave amazing recommendations and our table was right on the water. The blackened grouper was juicy and flavorful 10/10 fried grouper 7.5/10 was just a little over fried and needed a little seasoning the shrimp and wings app 10/10 for both. The hush puppies 10/10. Arrived around 6:00 not that long of a wait to be seated. Friendly staff!!! I ordered the painkiller and my husband ordered a house margarita. For an appetizer, we ordered the Loco shrimp served with a sweet chili sauce. They were fried in a very light batter and were delicious. $13.00 Could have been stronger. For my main meal I ordered the Mai Mai basket with fries. $17.00. Fish was very tasty and the fries cooked to perfection. Crunchy, soft in the inside and well seasoned. Amazing Food, view, service & ambiance. We ate here twice while visiting PCB. We noticed the place was packed and we grew curious. We waited about 45 minutes & so glad we did. We ended up returning the following day. We had the seared crab cakes, the fried mahi basket, the beach party basket ,popcorn shrimp basket and schooners burger. All the seafood items were delicious and fresh. Now, let me tell you about that burger...it was delicious; perhaps the best burger I've had in years. Without a doubt, Tony, our server, made the meal a far more enjoyable experience than it might have been. He proves that waiters can be "professional ". Probably not a normal experience here because there was a half price special going on. I was warned that there would be an hour wait for a table but when we arrived the wait was almost two hours!! But we figured that the crowd can't be wrong, so we decided to wait. We started with seared Ahi Tuna. It was the most tender and mild flavored tuna I have ever had. Next were the salads. My wife had a blue cheese salad with bacon and I had a spinach salad that included walnuts and cranberry with a raspberry vinaigrette. Wonderful salads, only $6-7 dollars at full price!! We both had fried fish platters with shrimp and oysters and all I can say is there is no way we could eat everything on the plate. Definitely doggy bag time!! The experience here is being out on the bay - Literally lunch amongst the marina - Food was primarily simple and no-frills, but our little private table out in the outer dock was a nice touch. We ate here bc of the reviews. We waited 30 min, but used that time to go see the beach! When seated, we ate by the beach. Nice views and nice breeze. Very crowded though and you are squeezed in. Kody was our waiter and he was very friendly. Keep in mind, they are very busy and crowded! We ordered the fish tacos and the shrimp bowl. My fish tacos were very good and the beans and rice were yummy. The shrimp bowl was not as big of portion as expected and you don't get a side. Oh we got the tuna dip and the chips were cheap dollar store chips and the tuna dip was subway tuna. Lol. Not that great. Kinda disappointed bc the menu kinda sucked and it was expensive. It was our first time to PCB, so we were unaware about how popular this place was. Their menu is extensive and the service was solid. The portion sizes were good for the price and the flavors were fresh. I especially liked the grits and the grouper sandwich. The gumbo was good and the burger was enormous. I also liked to walk up to the bar and get a drink while we were on the beach and not wanting to sit down for a meal. If you aren't picky about location, you can sit inside and get a table a little quicker. That said, the views of the beach can't be beat! read more

Good fried seafood with a great view. When looking for fresh seafood Schooners on the beach is the place to be. Parking can be a bit tricky as you need to look for the signs that say parking for Schooners or for public parking. Walk in get greeted by the hostess, ask for an inside table with a view of the ocean and enjoy. Got the fried seafood platter which came with fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, fries and hush puppies. Everything was delicious. The service was great as our server was nice and friendly.
