First time here.

First time here and I enjoyed it. The vibe and the food is good. The chicken wings are the bomb. The customer service is great. Good place to hang.

Enjoyed some burgers and beer here. The atmosphere was welcoming & staff were attentive. Wonderful hidden gem!

Perfect for evening hangout

Stopped in here for dinner while my kid was at orientation at Cal Poly. It was early evening/late afternoon so the place was pretty empty. I ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap and a margarita. It took me a half hour to eat the wrap because it was so perfect I wanted to savor every bite. The drink was perfectly refreshing. The atmosphere seemed fun and relaxed. Service was friendly and pretty fast. I'll definitely return.

The Leroy

Probably one of the best smashed burgers I've had in a very long time. I stayed at the hotel across the street from them and the front desk clerk disuaded me from the Schoolyard. Maybe he had a "beef" with them? I had the Leroy and chili cheese tots. Satisfying

The ahi salad was ridiculously small. I mean, TINY. For $19?? C'mon, veggies in a bowl not a tiny hand-full on a tiny tray.

This is as easy a 5-star review as I can imagine. We've driven by this older, undistinguished…read moreestablishment several times, but never really noticed it. With the hearty recommendation from two different people we decided to try it out. We found the breakfast-lunch menu the most appealing to our tastes. I ordered a reuben and my wife an omlet. The portions were large to gigantic, the flavors fresh and delicious with the pricing most reasonable. When you add the fantastic service we experienced, the Del Monte Cafe instantly became one of our favorite eateries in San Luis Obispo. Be aware that this was a charming old grocery store at one time and exudes nostalgia. It has about 8 tables inside and some tables adjoining outside. This is one of our best local finds and I'm hesitatant to write it up fearing it may become too popular.

This place had a lot of positive reviews which led us here. There is a small parking lot at the…read moreback of the cafe, and some street parking along the by streets. The place looks like a nice small diner, with friendly staff and quick service. The staff were nice and patient to get our orders. However the food was a little disappointing, we ordered the bagel sandwich and the mushroom cheese omelette. The bagel sandwich was very bland, it was like it didn't have any salt or pepper added. The same was true for the omelette. The home fries were more like deep fried potato cubes, which were also very oily.

As college staff taking students on a Central Coast campus tour during spring break, we needed a place for lunch on short notice. When I called, the staff was incredibly helpful and connected me with Caitlin via email. Not only did she respond quickly, but she was also kind, flexible, and truly accommodating throughout the process. From the moment we arrived, everything was handled seamlessly. Organizing a group of our size is no small task, but the team managed it with professionalism, patience, and genuine care. The seating was thoughtfully arranged, service was efficient, and every member of our group felt welcomed and taken care of. The food came out in a timely manner, was well-prepared, and absolutely amazing! It was so nice to see everyone enjoying their meals, and it really added to the overall positive experience. Even when we decided to order dessert at the last minute, the staff remained gracious and accommodating. We are incredibly grateful for the effort and flexibility shown to us. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone--especially those planning group events. Thank you for making our visit such a success!

I would recommend someone with a slightly over average to larger stomach to get a quad instead of a trio and that may satiate you, otherwise if not, this is not the place for you. For people that enjoy eating smaller meals or are indecisive about what to get, I would highly recommend this place! Other than that, though, the place is very clean with a cute slightly rustic modern aesthetic going on and the food is all really good! I got a truffle burger, Mac and cheese with chorizo, and Brussel sprouts with bleu cheese and mushrooms! The menu is a little on the pricier side for what you're getting but always worth a taste and try!

I placed my order on the kiosk, which I found very easy to use. I ordered Smoothie 5 and Panini 6. This came out to $36.97. For the smoothie, I subbed out strawberries (because I'm allergic) and added bananas. I found that to be a really great option that they have at no extra charge. For the panini, I didn't realize they had half and full orders until I got up to the kiosk. I opted for the full order, and then realized once I sat down that I probably would have been better off with the half option. My smoothie arrived at the table at 11:49, whereas my panini arrived at 11:53, so the wait in total was about 15 minutes which is not bad at all for how busy it was. My friends ordered the Greens 5 with prosciutto, Toast 4, Bowl 1, Bowl 6, and everyone agreed that we would definitely come back. One thing that was funny to us is that we felt like the photos on the menu looked smaller than the portions that actually arrived. My friend ordered the Greens and a Bowl thinking it would be small, and she realized very quickly that she was going to need a takeout box for her salad. (This is a good problem to have, rather than the other way around!). The service was also top notch. Even though I ordered on the kiosk, I was still able to interact with the employees, as they frequently came around to ask if they could clear off plates from our table. I also went up to the front to ask for a box, and she kindly directed me to where the boxes were located that I could just grab. Next time, I would definitely mentally prepare myself for how busy it is, but for the quality of ingredients, and the portion size, I think it is great and would definitely come back.

Cool looking restaurant with really good service. Dined here both night I was in SLO. Got the burger and fries the first night and it was great. Fries were crispy and well seasoned. Also got the olive oil cake that night but that didn't hit the mark. It was very dense and dry but I didn't say anything as I was too full to try anything different. On to the second night, I got the tri-tip and subbed the potatoes for sweet potato purée. I have to say, the sweet potatoes and slaw were amazing. The tri-tip on the other hand was lackluster. It was tough, rubbery, hard to cut and chew. The server was amazing and swapped that out for the burger which again was great. I finished with the cheesecake which was also good, way better than the first night's dessert. Note to self, don't get the tri-tip or olive oil cake... Lastly, also have eaten breakfast here two separate times during two separate stays and it was also great.
