One came from stock and the other came off the display wall. Cost over $300. When I got home I discovered, the lamps have to be wired together before they can be used. This is not what I asked for nor expected. I immediately called and was told how to wire them. I asked why I wasn't told this before I left the store. In all, the salesperson wasn't really concerned, and told me I could bring them back, which I will as soon as snow allows safe travel. Very disappointed in this local merchandiser. Dealing with contractors can be extremely frustrating and hard so I want to help point people in a positive direction and save them the hassles I've had to endure. Given the recommendation of my electrical contractor, I reached out to Jennifer of Walsh Electric about a month ago to help me choose lights for my house. I admit, I'm not very focused on details like lights, so I felt like it would be good to have someone who knows about lighting to help me out. Jennifer has been great. She visited my home, took notes and a few days later was emailing me selections that were very much in line with the sort of things I like. When I have questions she can answer them. She is super patient (this is not my forte and she's been way more forgiving of my slowness and indecisiveness than I've been with myself). I also found visiting the lighting showroom at Walsh to be very helpful because it allowed me to see some of the lights she recommended and know for sure whether I liked them or not. I brought my antique lamp, that stopped working, into this shop. It had just recently been totally…read morerewired, including adding a switch and plug by another business that no longer did repairs. The young woman at the counter was pleasant and she spent a little time checking things a few things out. She said she was unable to find the issue, and said she would need to bring it back to the bench to look at it. In all honesty, she did briefly mention a $45 bench fee. She said to come back within 20 minutes and she should have it fixed by then. That surprised me because she said she didn't know what was wrong with it. When I came back to pick it up, the owner (?) was at the counter and charged me $48+. I asked what was wrong with it, and she said it was a bad plug. I was shocked by the price, and queried, " You're going to charge me $48 for a $3 plug and work that would've taken about five minutes?" Her reply was curt and somewhat rude. She told me that they had to cover their bills somehow. To me, this was terrible customer service. It is my theory that the young lady at the counter could tell right away that it was just the plug when she examined it. I felt scammed. I would've happily bought a plug from them and done it myself if I only I had known. It would have been good customer service if she would have worked with me, but this woman was unwilling to budge. I tried communicating with them through email, asking if we could come to some sort of compromised bill. No one ever responded to any of my emails. Poor customer service doesn't pay in the end, but I had to!! $48 was a lot of money out of my very limited income.

Ollie's is a liquidation center where you can find all kinds of brand name items for less. When you first walk, you'll notice a large selection of books and toys. There's also lots of food and household items, some clothes, beauty products, decorations, bedding, electronics, hardware, etc. I found some lovely Yankee Candle large signature candles for $7.99 when they are normally sold full price at $30 at the Yankee store. Things to take note - not everything is a great deal, if you shop at Costco or Sam's Club you may notice similar or cheaper prices there - for example, Kcup coffee pods - not so cheap at Ollie's. In terms of clothing, there's a limited selection, many outdated styles by today's standards. I saw a bunch of genuine leather jackets which looked like they were from the 90's or early 2000s, sold at very low prices (under $20). There are tons of large carpets and rugs on display, ideal if you need to redecorate, also great selection of bathroom towels and matts. It's the kind of place you need to check back often as the stock varies greatly.
