I've lived in the Islands for two years now so when gardening fever hit, I wanted to check out…read more all of my local options. I attempted to go to Canamak Farms 3 times and found lots of plants but no people. The first 2 times I couldn't find an "Open" sign Or a sign with their hours of operation. (My Visits were between noon and 4:30 pm. Weekdays) On my third visit I found a chain across the front of the building with a "closed" sign showing hours (open until 5:00pm), it was 4:30. I also tried reaching Canamak Farms by phone twice. I left two detailed phone messages, both times asking for a call back.... Nothing. On my fourth and final visit, Success! They were open. The plant selection was ok, not a great variety of herbs. (Peppermint) and the woman working didn't know that it was different from plain Mint. I saw 3 other plants I was interested in but they had no markers. Again I asked the woman working, she didn't know . (Italian or yellow squash). She moved things around then told me yellow squash. (They turned out to be zucchini.) Not great plants, high now 2 months later, the plant I got are 50% at best. Sweet peppers had small flowers that grew to 1 1/2" peppers then simply hung there and got soft, compost. The sun gold plants were leggy when I got them and have grown some with minimal yield. Overall, I'm disappointed with their unprofessional business practices. (Couldn't even return my call, customer service is important). I understand that "hours of operation"is loosely based, it's hard work they do. Their huge SALE SIGN was the biggest thing about their sale. They offer soil, mulch, compost but only in bulk and for delivery. Neither was what I needed. Ill go back only in a pinch. Big bummer. I support local businesses not this one.

I was searching for a local florist company to deliver to Champlain, NY as I prefer to support…read morelocal small businesses and through internet search I stumbled on 2K Bloom Florist located in Rouses Point, NY. This location was approximately 7 minutes from the delivery address. On December 25, 2021, I placed an online order for a sympathy bouquet, "Teleflora's Hearts in Heaven," to be delivered on Sunday, January 2, 2022, eight days away. The online ordering service on the business' website allowed me to choose from any day of the week for the entire month. The purpose of the flower delivery was for a friend who tragically lost her dog one year ago to the day on January 2. The reason I chose this specific bouquet was because of the plaque with the saying "Because someone we love is in heaven, there is a little bit of heaven in our hearts" which was something my friend could keep and cherish next to her dog's ashes. I was charged on the purchase date, 12/25/21, for the price of the bouquet ($59.99), the delivery fee ($10.00) and taxes which came to a total of $75.59. I received a confirmation email with the date purchased, delivery date, and to whom I was sending the flowers to. On January 2, the date the flowers were supposed to be delivered, I never received any confirmation from the company nor my friend that the delivery happened. I called the business around 3pm in the afternoon, to which I received a voicemail. The flowers were never delivered, I never received a call/email, nor a refund. The following morning, I called the business whereby a young individual stated they are not open on Sundays. When asked to speak to a manager, she responded: "she isn't here she is at her other job." I asked if she could have the manager call me. Approximately one hour later, the manager called and stated two contradictory statements: they are not open on Sundays, and she took her drivers off the road because of weather. When I asked her why her system allowed me to purchase flowers for a delivery date of Sunday if they are not open, she stated, "I'm surprised it let you," When asked why I did not receive a curtesy call to inform me my delivery would not be occurring, she stated because they were closed. The manager indicated that I should have checked the business' Facebook page as she posted that the drivers were not driving. There was no said post on their page. The manager gave me two options: I could get a full refund, or the flowers could be delivered on that day, one day late. I asked if there would be a discount for the inconvenience, she stated the best she could do was 10%, which was not even the cost of the delivery fee. As I wanted my friend to have these flowers, I chose the latter option. When my friend received the flowers a day late, the bouquet did not include the special plaque that I specifically chose to purchase and instead included a giant cross. For the business to incorporate a religious item without consent of the purchaser is offensive, ignorant, unprofessional, and inappropriate. I was genuinely embarrassed that my friend received this bouquet of flowers that cost me over $75. The manager's negligence to not contact me in the 8 days prior to the delivery to inform me they could not deliver on that date is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I would have appreciated the option to have chosen a different florist company that does in fact deliver on that day. She took my money and never had the curtesy to reach out, even the next day. I was forced to call. And to then receive the wrong order with a religious item included is horrible service. The manager was not apologetic nor understanding. Awful customer service. A $7 discount for blatant disregard of a sensitive delivery and an incorrect order is just insulting. It has been 9 days and still no refund. Unacceptable. See photos of what I purchased and what was delivered.
