Schoen Builders built us a beautiful, quality home! We were impressed with his attention to detail and attentiveness during the entire process. His quote and his allowances were very accurate after we told him and showed him pictures of what we wanted. After moving in we had one issue that required immediate attention and Aaron himself show up after hours to begin the remedy. It was fully repaired within two days. Aaron was very aware of our short time frame and completed our home ahead of his estimated completion date. It took about two months for our checklist to be completed but that was ok because I kept adding to it - like the hole the AT and T put through my family room wall and Schoen Builders took care of everything! We have had people knock on our door and ask who built our house. I still see people driving by and taking pictures. It happened so frequently after we moved in my children learned how to photobomb! We built our house in 2008 with Schoen Builders and have had a great relationship with Aaron and the staff from the start. Aaron spent countless hours working with us in the design phase even before committing (written or verbal) to have him build our house. When we finally committed and agreed on our plan, things went very smoothly. The quality of workmanship is great, we hit our projected timelines and came in on budget. During our walk-thrus, we decided on changes and were able to adjust little things all along the way that created a real personal touch to our home. Even after completing punch list items, Schoen Builders and sub-contractors came out to house to adjust outlets, sprinklers and other misc. items as we figured out our new home. We built with Schoen about 5 years ago. We were recommended by at least 5 people. And since then we have recommended at least 15 more. We have trusted Schoen with our reference. Which can be tricky. But the most important reference is the one you get in person. If you are considering Schoen, ask him to talk to us and take a tour of our house. This is the second house we have built over 3400 sq feet. (only one with Schoen) Clearly the expectation is different in NW Ohio when you move into this range. They exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Every change we made, every concern we voiced and every problem that popped up was addressed and fixed. After looking at several building plans, and looking at several houses they previously built i chose to go with these guys to build my house. The build happened on a timely fashion, actually alittle ahead of schedule. There was a small punch list as expected from any build, and after a year he came back and fixed a couple issues that we had. Considering the size of my house the workmanship has been great and i love the whole process i went though. These guys made choices easy and i felt comfortable though the whole build. When we moved to the Toledo area we interviewed multiple builders and we're so glad we decided to go with Schoen. They built us our dream home. I'm really shocked by the previous review. My experience with Schoen Builders was quite the opposite. All the people I dealt with from Aaron and Matt, to the office staff (Michelle and Abbie) to the subcontractors (Tim, Terry, Terry, Pat, Troy, Mitch, Zach, Brad the list goes on) were amazing to work with. Everyone who has come to my home has commented on the quality of workmanship and the creative design. I would build again with Schoen Builders in a heartbeat, but I don't anticipate that happening because I LOVE my home. read more

I've installed over 6000 heating systems and have dealt with about 30 general contractors. To see such a negative review is appalling. Unfortunately there are homeowners who have other issues in life that are reflected in their daily interactions with others and to write such a review suggests a daily struggle with personal problems . I find Schoen Builders to be of high professionalism and the fact they get referrals from previous customers and repeat customers shows the true indication of their reputation. read more
