It has been a couple years since I have been in this place, but I was reminded of it whilst…read moreperusing Yelp here. It is a small store, but actually quite big for a small town shop. They don't have a large selection of more exotic things like dairy-free loafs of bread or frozen mock meats suitable for a vegan, but they do have some Mornigstar Farms items. I would suggest those for vegetarians if it were not for my recent discoveries about GMOs... While it sometimes feels like I am, I am assuming that I am not the only vegan or vegetarian visiting towns such as Monticello who is wondering where to go to get some eats. Anyhow, there is enough here that you can certainly make a meal no matter what your dietary needs. There just isn't much in the way of "quick" foods available here that I could eat if I just wanted to pop something into my friend's microwave. I am thinking that we did find some interesting items that I had not seen elsewhere, but it really escapes me what they were now. (I guess that means I will have to go back!) We were often visiting a friend in the area so we have shopped here when we did not feel like making the trek to Kroger or Walmart. I DO prefer to shop at small, locally-owned stores, but sometimes the hours didn't work for us or there were other things we needed at the bigger places. Everyone really should support this store though since it is such a luxury these days to have a grocery in a small town. It is for that reason that I am giving a four instead of a three because I am happy that it even exists. It was a huge selling point for me when we were considering moving to Monticello. All we have where we are now is a gas station and believe me I am grateful for that much! A grocery store would be heaven!

Please be careful when using the Mahomet Dollar General store I had a horrible experience today…read more There employees and especially management is extremely disrespectful. Today while I was shopping at the Dollar General store here in Mahomet my daughter had accidentally dropped a box of toothpaste on the floor and my son did not see it and accidently kicked it. Next thing I knew there manager Stephanie came around the corner and began yelling at my son. Basically verbally assaulting him and calling him a stupid kid and asking if he was going to kick the shit on the floor or pick up the damn thing. I was so shocked she would use this language with him. She grabbed the chat out of my hands and pushed me threw my sons gloves from the cart at me and told me to get the fuc-- out of her store. Then she took the cart and pushed it into the corner of the store. My keys were in the bottom of the cart which I attempted to explain. However she would not listen and kept screaming at me some inappropriate words especially in front of my children. After i left the Dollar General I called the nonemergency police department because I felt threatened and she was truly being aggressive. The policeman was really nice. I believe after he went to speak with her at the store he came back to my house and said she banned me from the store. I could not believe that i stood up for my son and myself and this is was what happened. I just wanted to write and let others know about my experience and caution you on using this store.

Had one person without a nametag walk behind the counter twice & then take pictures of the prepaid card racks. Had a few customers leave items, they wanted to buy, on the floor and walked out. Then finally 2 other workers came out with one cash drawer to start ringing up the other customers & one of the two workers had to have the other worker walk him through how to sign into the register. Bad customer service all around.

Harvest has terrible produce most of the time & I'v received rotten fruit and veges too many times from harvest. But Meijer's produce has pleasantly surprised me,& even when I order via InstaCart I never have a problem either. I love the variety of produce products as well. I have been getting gorgeous oranges and peaches, nectarines & baking potatoes for example, which I could never find at other stores in and around Champaign. When Im doing In-person shopping at Meijer's, I never wait long on check-out lines & because they have a nice variety in all categories of foods I find many things I just cant get at Harvest or other places in Champaign county. Also, I love that Meijer's carts are for the most part pretty clean-not so at Harvest. The only thing is I wish they had a meat counter & dont generally by fish or meats from there. The cashiers are very nice & pack the way I ask them to & my deliveries are are fine too, never a problem and very prompt. This year I have made Meijer's my main go-to store & highly recommend it. (I never give anyone 5 stars,so 4 stars for me means very satisfied)

This place is awesome! I can see it becoming the best Asian international grocery market in the…read morearea! They have a huge selection of foods predominantly from China, South Korea, and Japan. I have seen some Indian, Vietnamese, and Filipino stuff though including a generous section of spices and whatnot. The prices are quite affordable and they have a great assortment of fresh produce, deli foods like ready to eat kimbap or squid salad, baked goods, pick your own hotpot items, and fresh bbq (put out at 11am). Their staff is super friendly and diverse (a sign at the entrance touts the multilingual abilities of the staff). They seem to have everything including more niche ingredients and even live seafood! I also appreciate that they freshly butcher meat to sell unlike other stores like Amko that freeze it all. There's also a home goods section with cute bowls, makeup, and other stuff. This is all relatively close to campus too and worth the trip. It's also right next to Golden Harbor, which is a plus. I found out about their membership card. You get 1 point per dollar spent and it builds up - it seems handy especially if you shop here frequently. They are still in the opening stage but hopefully the food court will open up soon!

Red dates, Gogi Berry, ginger tea, kimchi, Vita drinks, matcha soymilk, miso paste, whole wall of lee kum kee sauces, japanese candies, Korean banana milk, coffee milk, instant noodles, and much more. Their fresh produce was a bit low in stock but they had Taiwan and Napa cabbage and fresh ginger. Inside seems clean and there is parking right outside of the market. Cashier was really friendly. There is a membership to earn points to redeem for coupon. Don't forget to grab some Japanese or Korean instant coffee packs and special lays flavored chips! Those are so good.
