I love it when new restaurants open in Elizabeth, as Elizabeth isn't exactly a dining district - so yay! A new option! The food is great, the tables are crowded together making it hard to navigate without knocking into other tables, but the it's busy and full of life so cudo's to them. Being so new the staff are still working things out (difficulties using the Eftpos facilities - they weren't sure how they worked, problems locating ordered items on their computer and even locating drink flavourings) - but we'll give them time on this one. The staff weren't unfriendly, but they were definitely more fixated on concentrating on what gang were doing and how to do it over providing customer service. The food however was really full of flavour and thoroughly enjoyable. I had the beef Schnit with the Kilpatrick sauce. (Yummo) while my husband had the 12inch Hotdog, the only complaint here is that the Hotdog itself is not actually 12inch's, it's a Kransky cut down the middle and half at each end of a long roll, which is more than enough to fill you - but not a 12 inch dog. Again the flavours were really good (even if the roll was slightly burnt). We shared the dip Schnit (we ordered way too much food) but we got a good sample of what they had to offer and the fact is it was really good!!! The dipping sauces were all creamy so a non creamy option wouldn't go astray but the important factor is it tastes really good and the serving sizes are generous. Will definitely go back, not too soon, because the food is heavy and it's not going to do the waist any favours :)

    So much choice

Great food great service. First visit here. We booked online for 645pm on a sat night. The restaurant called to tell us that they were full at that time. They should suggested 8pm. Glad we did. It was still busy at 8pm but the service was still quick. Only complaint is that we needed to ask for more cutlery. You won't leave hungry. Prices are reasonable and with the entertainment book you get a bonus 25% off your bill.

My deep sea lazy schnitz with trio of mushroom sauce

When the Schnithouse opened on Rundle Street, I was excited by the concept of a schnitzel house where you are only pained by the choices on offer. As a fan of this humble dish, I relished on the crazy variations this place would come up with. Unfortunately, my experience was not the best. Food was expensive and extremely salty. So, I have not ventured back till now. Perhaps the Elizabeth store might be different? We both had the lazy schnit. I chose the deep sea with trio of mushroom sauce, while my sister had the chicken with peppercorn sauce. They might seat you when you come in, but ordering food and drinks is at the counter and bar. While we waited for our meals, we took the opportunity to admire the fitout. It was cosy with lots of warm tones. The lighting created a nice ambiance for families. The place was massive with an upstairs seating area as well. Our food arrived within 15 minutes. That is very timely. Big tick for promptness. My barramundi schnitzel was well cooked, sauce was nice, could do with more mushroom and less cream. Chips was yummy, but over salted. Tried my sister's chicken schnitzel and thought it was good. Her peppercorn sauce was a little weak in flavour and a tad runny. It was nice, but not spectacular. There is room for improvement, but glad the whole dish wasn't salty. Nothing worse than skulling water all night just to make it through your meal. Pricepoint, a tad on the dear side, but at least you are getting a decent feed and the ingredients is of a better quality than your average pub schnitzel. Staff are very friendly here, so for that alone, I would return.

The décor is groovy, the staff are simply lovely, and the atmosphere is just so inviting. What is on offer here? There is lots to choose from, but what grabs your attention first is the vibrant and colourful salads on display. Now, I am a lover of cafes that make an effort to make a hearty salad. And boy to they deliver; beans, quinoa, lentils... you name it! You can order a salad to be accompanied by stuffed mushrooms, lasagne, frittata, stuffed tomatoes, and just wow! They are not all about the salads though, they also offer some pretty amazing smelling soup, toasted Turkish bread sandwiches and wraps. I even got my hands on a healthy salted caramel slice. Now, the verdict: The salad was seasoned well and plentiful! And I mean plentiful! If you want a big lunch, stop here. I loved the lasagne and the bean salad was my fav with lots of veggies and a lovely sauce. I think I have found a new lunch place on this side of town! Hooray!

The Two Wells Tavern still has some country charm about it, but they have added a beer garden that makes you feel like you are still in the city. Okay, while the beer garden may look really new, the interior seems like it has changed little for the days that it was first built. They also have a bottle shop in the building so you can take some beer home after a couple of drinks at the bar. These guys have cracked on with a great alternative to the usual easy quick lunches available and kept it healthy and interesting. I dropped in on the very first day, so unsurprisingly it was busy. but even on the first day the awesome crew at Poké me knocked out the line in 20 minutes. my friends just visited today and said even after three business days only they got through much quicker. The lineup gave me time to consider what I was gonna buy. I've seen fancy Insta pics of amazing tuna so I honed in on the tuna. I think if they'd run out of tuna i' d have had a heart attack. but alas, they had the tuna. you get options of base: green tea soba noodles, pink rice or greens. I got greens. then you get the choice of some uber pimp salad choices like kimchi, julienne beetroot, cucumber, smashed avo, edamame beans, and plenty more. then when you get your choice of tuna, salmon, chicken or tofu you get to choose a sauce and sprinkles of spice. All worth it and all totally filling :-) they don't do cash so bring your card. drink choices are epic - I personally can't go past the UTonic. You want....UTonic. so tasty. Get in and grab a feed. I don't think you'll regret it!

Woohoo feels good to put up a review after a long break! I've known about the Middle Store after…read moreseeing it on Yelp some months ago, but I didn't notice it was around where I live. It was a friend who wanted to come here and after he reminded me it was Rose from Masterchef who ran the cafe, I agreed to try it. While that's pretty awesome, something way cooler happened! Towards the end of our meal, Georgia Barnes (2015 runner up) and Jessie Spiby (2015) came into the cafe for coffee. Lucky us right? My only regret was not asking for a photo with the three of them. Onto the review. As usual I was pretty indecisive and tend to go for a burger option if I can't decide, so I ordered the lamb kofta burger while my friend went for the Lebanese Mezze Breakfast. The wait wasn't too lengthy and my burger was pretty tasty. It's a different type of burger than what I'd normally have, because this one was really fresh and quite light. There was plenty of hummus along with pickled cabbage, cucumber, tomato and a bed of rocket. It stands out visually with the colours. The kofta patty was not bad but I felt it was a bit on the thin side, because there was quite alot of turkish bread that formed the buns. And yeah, as a result the whole experience was quite bready for me but thanks to the hummus and the veges the burger wasn't dry. My friend also wanted to try one of their house made tarts as well so I just had a little bit. It was a passionfruit curd one and it was decent, not too sweet and refreshing due to the passionfruit. But at $4.50 for what's essentially a mini-tart it's getting on the pricey side. I would have gone for a baklava if I was craving a sweet pastry. The interior is very clean looking and inviting, on par with alot of the nicer cafes around the city. The prices are solid ($10.50) for the lamb burger and the breakfast ($15.50). The location is one reason I'd come back- no need to drive to the city just for brunch or lunch. There's a few other things I'd like to try as well if I come back. Overall, a good find and the timing of our visit was impeccable!

Now I'm not going to rabbit on too much. I personally don't think these are the best Banh Mi ($5.80) on the market... but they are dang good. And I've said it before. If you can get some tasty pate, pickled veg, lots of corri & chilli, and a bunch of fresh grilled chicken into a soft vietnamese roll, I'm pretty much satisfied. In fact, I will say that the rolls here always seem to be super soft & fresh. I think they only bring a few out at a time and this is key. What I also love here is that, other than the cold rolls and banh mi, everything else is made to order by the kitchen. So there's a short wait for your pho, goi salad, bun bowl etc (all around $10-12)... but it's definitely worth it. Eat in and you get these beauties served on big white bowls or plates... it's a little classier than your average Viet takeaway joint and I can appreciate that. As always, something that's super important to me is service, and these guys are so friendly & efficient. Overall, I think the fact that I'm Duchess of both stores kind of speaks for itself!
