Maybe being so used to an eye doctor who provided my vision care for over 30 years and is now gone is a difficult void for another doctor to fill for me at this time. All in all, I will continue to come here until a time I feel that I may need to move on to another provider.

Follow that sign, state the patients name in the speaker, and park in the free lot. While waiting, we walked to Popeyes for lunch. Only one person enters with the patient for drop off and pick up. My uncle had cataracts that had hardened so bad they had to be broken up to be removed, and the pressure in his one eye was so bad he was at risk of losing his eye all together. Keep in mind he takes a lot of emergency cases other doctors can't/don't want to handle so he is often backed up, which means you will wait a while. But when it is your turn he will take the appropriate amount of time. He has a younger associate who will see you on some of the follow-up visits and he is great too. The desk and support staff are wonderful, and did a lot of hand-holding and were really thorough at getting all the complicated insurance straightened out, and getting him in the hospital ASAP. There were very helpful during the aftercare time, making sure he had all the right prescriptions lined up, and very responsive to phone calls. Highly recommend!!

He told me to take off my contacts and put them in the case he provided. When I opened the case, there was already solution in there, and it also looked dirty. I came back in telling him that this case had been used before, and he replied with "No, it is brand new, but I can give you another one". Please I have worn contact lenses for more than 6 years, I know what a new unused case looks like. Anyway, I took the new one he gave me and put my contacts in. After the exam, i put my lenses back on. He took the case back, emptied out my solution then put it back on his shelf. I mean talk to hygiene! He also did not wipe the machine with alcohol wipes, he just wiped it with lining paper. Then he said that my eyes hadn't changed so the old prescription stayed as is. I could not see well with my old prescription thats why I came in but after all he is the "professional" one. He also gave me a contact prescription which the type of contact happed to be discontinued but I had no idea, he did not tell me anything. I found out when I tried to order my contact lenses. I then called his office and he said I would have to come in for a fitting and I would have to pay to get a new kind. He's nice enough to give me half off but I'm taking my business elsewhere. This is my first and last time coming in. Very unprofessional and unhygienic environment.

It's only a 25-30 minute drive south to the Wilmer Eye Institute and our experience with him was phenomenal. The wait time was never long, 10-15 minutes max, which was important when bringing a one-year-old in for appointments. They have a separate waiting area for kids with toys and books, and all of the nurses and Dr. Repka have an excellent rapport with kids - not just my daughter, but her big brother (who was 5 at the time and worried about his little sister's upcoming surgery). Dr. Repka immediately affirmed that my daughter needed to have surgery and scheduled her a few weeks out. He was very reassuring to all of us as we approached the surgery and especially the morning of, when we had to be at JH's surgery center downtown. Both parents and big brother were allowed to wait with her in the pre-op area prior to the surgery. The surgery was successful and we had three great follow-up appointments. At the time of the third appointment, we told Dr. Repka we were moving to San Diego and he referred us to several of his colleagues for continued care. I just wanted my daughter to have the best care possible, and was very glad I made the decision to see Dr. Repka. There is not one thing I would change about the experience with this doctor or the Wilmer Eye Institute.
