The spa/bains area is extensive and immaculate. There were 9 rooms and several relaxation areas as well both indoor and outdoor. Gorgeous pool which is also well sized. The breakfast is really well done. All the indulgent options (bread pudding, bacon) and healthy options (fresh juices with ingredients of your choosing, poached eggs). Concierge is very helpful for hikes, tours. The e-bike was so much fun to take around the town and neighboring silvaplana. Only downside was any request sourcing from the front desk seemed to get lost in translation to Housekeeping, not sure why but it happened 3 times. Second, aware it's a mountain town, but it was hot..our room was too stuffy and only way to cool down was to open the windows. However we faced the front so it wasn't feasible due to noise. Lastly, we didn't really conduct our research on location, but note the Kempinski is at the edge of town, so it wasn't as convenient to simply walk everywhere like at the other well known properties. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel.

The staff is very attentive and accommodating, excellent English, and once you get past the prices (which seem to be fairly normal for this region), you'll have an experience worthy of a 5 star property. Breakfast is barely outdone by the extravagant dinner options, after 2 days here I'm still not sure what my favorite meal was!

The rooms are functional and a plus is certainly the huge closet with plenty of hangers (one of my pet peeves is that a lot of hotels have about three hangers, where are you supposed to hang your clothes) plus the big full length mirrors with good day light. I absolutely love the breakfast room with view on the frozen lake and the selection is quite good. The quality of the food in the buffet is great and I love you can have your eggs cooked by the chef. But most importantly the service is always great, the team is always friendly and willing to help. Only downside I would say that it get's pricey on busy weekends and that the room has no iron (but they offer reasonable priced and quick iron service in house). Would recommend!
Badrutt's Palace Hotel

We stayed at the Badrutt's Palace as part of my milestone birthday plans with my girlfriends…read more I'm sad to say, Badrutt's Palace turned out to be the biggest disappointment of the trip. We spent about 7,500 CHF for two connecting rooms for two nights in the basic category rooms. And these are the reasons why I am giving the Badrutt's one star: - When we arrived, at about 330pm we were told one of our rooms were not ready, because of a 'technical issue'. The official check in time was 3pm. They told us to expect the room to be ready by 530pm. Meanwhile, they offered us "complimentary tea at the Grand Hall". - The complimentary tea turned out to be a frame of small bites that was too little for the three of us, so we ordered one club sandwich and also some water. We were charged for the sandwich and water which turned out to be 75CHF. - At 530pm we went up to check into the room that was ready, as the connecting one still wasn't ready yet. It turned out that the 'technical issue' were guests who hadn't checked out. I saw the service staff cramming clothes and belongings into bags while they tried to clear out the room. - The rooms were really small. This I had heard and I thought it was acceptable considering the location of the hotel. What I did not expect was the general shabbiness of the place. Furnishings looked worn and tired. And the carpet wasn't clean. I do my nightly stretches on the carpet, and found myself cheek to cheek to some dirt / soil. I was hoping that it came from the last guest in their hurry to check out and not some vintage dirt from winter 2022. - For the next two days, we found the staff generally distracted and too busy to attend to us, whether it be a request for a kettle, a charger, soft boil eggs at breakfast, water to the table or an ice pack. Things either never materialized or you needed to remind them three times before they arrived. - On the last day of our stay, I encountered a small crash on the slopes and tore my ACL. After making it back to the hotel, I called the front office to inform them about the injury, and potential need for alternative arrangements for dinner. Their reply was, "There will be a cancellation policy of 200CHF per person if you decide to cancel dinner" - I wasn't prepared to pay 600CHF for no dinner and to mooch in a small room so I said I will go ahead with dinner, but could I please have a wheelchair to bring me to dinner. They said, of course we will bring it up immediately. We waited 1.5 hours for the wheelchair which never materialized. Finally I hobbled to the front desk to find out they had "lost the wheelchair". I was puzzled why we were not informed any earlier. I feel extremely cheated out of what I thought was going to be a luxury experience. We are not un-used to paying high prices for 5-star accommodations but for this price, this level of service and general standards of the property are unacceptable.

Upon arrival we were given a sub-standard level room (at the same, higher price). When we inquired why there was a change in room type, the Manager was very rude and belligerent, basically lying to us that we were getting the same category room. It was very easy to go on their website and see the different options--clearly we did not get the correct room and were advised they were "sold out" so no other room was available. The situation was only made into a bigger problem because of the way it was handled. No sense of customer service at all. My husband speaks the native language and understood every word spoken so there was no misunderstanding. We sent pictures of the room provided to the 3rd party provider of the reservation and they too agreed it was the wrong room type. It is pending as to whether the Rosatsch will be removed from their suggested list of hotels. It's unfortunate to have to write this review, but it's the only way to advise future guests of how this hotel handles this type of situation. It's all about customer service and this hotel did not show any concern for us, the client. They only wanted to tell us we were wrong.
"My Home in the Alps"…read more I spent my summer in Pontresina this year and I stayed at the Rosatsch Hotel. I must say it is one of the amazing holidays I've ever had. I highly recommend Hotel Rosatsch to everyone who is planning a trip to Pontresina, Saint Moritz or anywhere nearby! This beautiful quaint boutique hotel is located at the heart of Pontersina. Warm welcome was extended to me upon arrival by Melanie, Ursina (Front Desk Personnel) and hotel General Manager, Ralph Muench. They were very helpful. Nothing was too hard for them everytime I asked their assistance about anything and everything - from as simple as an adopter request, to spa bookings, restaurant bookings, directions on how to go out and about Pontresina and Saint Moritz. All products and services that the hotel offers were introduced to me. All of the staff including Food and Beverage Personnel were exceptional. They're all always smiling and accommodating to all of their guests. Rooms are beautiful and their bed is like a "heavenly bed" very comfortable. I had a comfortable sleep all week! After a long day of hiking/skiing/snowboarding I recommend everyone to try their various body treatments at the SPA MONTANA. This hotel have Professional Physiotherapists that would definitely provide a relaxing massage and renewed feeling afterwards. Good job to Annika! :) Body treatments are reasonably priced as well. I consider this hotel as "My Home in the Alps" because I felt like I was a "family member" not just a "guest". Nothing beats the "Personalized Service" extended to everyone, starting from the General Manager, Mr. Muench. He makes sure he goes out of his way to meet and each and every guests personally. I can see he is very hands on in running this hotel. I see him from breakfast overseeing the operations in their All day dining restaurant until apero time during evenings at the O'Bar. I was pretty impressed. Good job to everyone and rest assured that I will bring more guests to your hotel! Unitl next time!

I…read moreprovided written notice on multiple platforms in advance of my scheduled stay that I needed to cancel my reservation for unforeseen circumstances related to Covid-19. Rather than working with me or showing even the slightest amount of grace, the general manager, Regina Amberger, responded with calloused, condescending lectures about how I need to be "responsible"--as if Covid interruptions indicate a lack of personal responsibility. To the contrary, choosing to change travel plans, unfortunate as it may be, is often the most responsible thing one can do in these times. But I am now left with a bill of nearly $700 in cancellation fees. Their policy, that cancellations must be made *28 days* in advance to avoid a penalty of the full amount, is plainly unreasonable, particularly in the environment of Covid-19. Medical interruptions to travel do not always surface one month away from a trip. The hotel knows this but chooses to enforce this policy entirely without discretion or concern for their guests. There are plenty of beautiful hotels in Pontresina--if you are interested in choosing one with even decent customer service, I encourage you to look at one of the other options.
