I highly recommend that you do NOT book a room at this hotel. The customer service is terrible. I provided written notice on multiple platforms in advance of my scheduled stay that I needed to cancel my reservation for unforeseen circumstances related to Covid-19. Rather than working with me or showing even the slightest amount of grace, the general manager, Regina Amberger, responded with calloused, condescending lectures about how I need to be "responsible"--as if Covid interruptions indicate a lack of personal responsibility. To the contrary, choosing to change travel plans, unfortunate as it may be, is often the most responsible thing one can do in these times. But I am now left with a bill of nearly $700 in cancellation fees. Their policy, that cancellations must be made *28 days* in advance to avoid a penalty of the full amount, is plainly unreasonable, particularly in the environment of Covid-19. Medical interruptions to travel do not always surface one month away from a trip. The hotel knows this but chooses to enforce this policy entirely without discretion or concern for their guests. There are plenty of beautiful hotels in Pontresina--if you are interested in choosing one with even decent customer service, I encourage you to look at one of the other options. read more
