Holy rude employe or maybe owner!!!! Walked in asked about the price of corn on cob and why it was so expensive and the reply was it's cheaper than last week. Still $1.25 an ear which is pretty high. So went on to my next question about a weeping hemlock. Was told there is no such thing. While I don't expect everyone to know everything the rudeness and tone of his voice was unbelievable. All this while never looking up from moving cherries from one container to another. It's a shame I couldn't ask anyone else for help as they were all ok the back due to COVID-19. BTW the picture is of a WEEPING HEMLOCK!!!!

Someone contacted me asking for proof that the picture I previously shared was real as the owner is denying it. I'm attaching screenshots that at the top show the day and time I took the pictures. There were Trump 2020 pumpkins and pumpkins with Biden Harris crossed out. As you can see, I took a picture with the name of the farm the same minute that I took the pumpkin pictures. While I disagree with the farm's support of Trump, they're entitled to sharing that. However, it is NOT okay that they are sharing racist messages, such as the "COVID made in China" pumpkins.

This is a perfect example of a local community farmer who is very connected to the township and a family that has lived here for what appears to be forever. Yes, there are places with more selections but you have to feel good about buying food from Andy and his family. He does go out of the way to make sure that you have anything you need. They have a pretty good selection of young plants if you are starting a garden and they always have a good selection of local honey. If you are unsure about the quality of the watermelon or the corn, just ask Andy and he'll open one up for you. We also buy organic mulch and organic soil here for our garden.

New to the neighborhood and had been meaning to stop by and we finally did!…read more It was after dinner time so I didn't ask about the food in the back - but I hear the sandwiches here are great so I'll probably go for one eventually after I figure out what we can have, if anything. The place has its own ample parking lot and is quite cute. It is small though and has some fresh produce, dairy, and pantry items at the front, but nothing extensive. Having said that, they had bags of allergen-friendly bread crumbs made without eggs (we haven't seen this before anywhere) which I purchased for my kid with multiple food allergies. Towards the middle, there are baked goods.. cookies, cakes, bread, pies. Something to note: everything has a sticker with "Tom The Green Grocer" on them (or other stickers if it's not made there... I'm assuming the items with their sticker means they're made there) but there are no ingredients listed at all. No names either and if there are, it's generic like "assorted cookies" and the pies had the name written on the boxes (peach, forest fruit, mixed berry, blueberry crumble, apple crumble, pumpkin - off the top of my head). I ended up buying a peach pie for just under $25 each. At the back of the store, there are the prepared foods, cake slices, and sandwich counter. My daughter was eyeing the Oreo cake slices but I didn't get one for her on this trip. The slices are not equally sized and wrapped in cellophane; I noticed some are slightly bigger than others. I'm sure I'll get one for her eventually and I'll report back on that once I do. I'm under the impression a lot of people that go there are regulars. The employees there are... there somewhere (they sort of blend in... I didn't really notice a uniform). We weren't greeted when we came in and weren't asked if we needed any help. It might be because they didn't know, since the cash register has the cashier facing away from the door, but as we walked around, it seemed like people became sparse. Service was lackluster and I don't actually recall a smile. Luckily, when I finally grabbed what I was planning on buying, a new employee was manning the cash register. She answered questions with direct answers, no elaboration. I'm still not sure if the answers were adequate, haha. I had asked what was in the Forest Fruit Pie and she mentioned blueberries and strawberries. Then I asked what was in the Wild Berry Pie and she said "berries." I sort of gave up on it after that and just checked out. An intriguing little neighborhood food-centric shop. I wish they listed out the ingredients on all their baked goods and prepared food and they were a little friendlier and helpful. Even so, I'm sure I'll return again to ask my detailed questions to see if we can have any of their sandwiches. Note: the peach pie we got was quite good and yielded 8, decent sized slices. It was glued to the pie pan (I believe the filling bubbled through and got between the pie and the pan) so none of our slices are whole since we need to scrape the bottom out, but they aren't too sweet, the filling doesn't taste artificial, and the crust is nice and flaky/tender. I'm hoping the fact it was stuck to the pan is a one off and they usually aren't like this. The next time I get a craving for pie, I'll go back for round two and I'll be sure to note whether or not that one is stuck to the pan.

Good luck to new owners! Would like to see more cooked…read morevegetables on the menu and less repetition of familiar dishes.

The oils and vinegars here are very nice and available to sample which I love. But the woman who…read morewas working there was not the friendliest person despite asking if I needed any help. In a customer service environment, warmth goes such a long way and that wasn't at all the experience here. The reason I'm writing this review though is this. They will offer to wrap 2 to 3 bottles for you if you're giving for a gift, but will not tell you you're paying for the box, or that because they're putting it in a box, you'll then pay tax for it. I didn't realize until I got home and happened to notice on the receipt. Eg. She put 2 small bottles in a box. They are normally $15.95 each and not taxed (food item). Once she put them in a box, the price went up over 20% higher to $20.23 each. Charge what you'd like as a business, but perhaps consider transparency for your customers. This felt deceitful, which is irksome when you're already paying a premium for the products. I purchased the Sicilian lemon white balsamic and tangerine balsamic for myself, (both were very nice and smooth) and 2 others as a gift. Total was $91.04 for 3 small bottles and 1 medium bottle. Parking: If you're not familiar with the parking situation in Westfield, it's not great. There is a pay lot across the street that's priced reasonably (bring quarters), and if you come during the week it shouldn't be long before a spot opens up. Expect to circle the area to find parking if you're coming on a weekend. Products are good but not sure if I'll return. Honest practices and friendly service really means a lot to me.

I definitely recommend to any foodie or someone who likes to cook. They let you sample the oil and vinegars with bread. There are so many to choose from it is a bit overwhelming. The girls in the shop were very helpful and gave great recommendations. I went with the Fig balsamic and Garlic infused oil. Absolutely amazing! I'll definitely be back to try other flavors.
