A working farm right in the middle of the city. They sell fruits, vegetables, plants,, frozen items, jams, jellies, and bakery items. They had a good selection of pies, but unfortunately, they only sell them by the whole pie, and not the slice. I would've loved to try a slice of their pie. I did buy a half dozen of their cinnamon, apple cider donuts, and unfortunately, I was disappointed. First of all, they were dusted with way too much cinnamon sugar. It literally overtook the flavor of the doughnut. Secondly, unfortunately, the donuts were dry. Apple cider donuts are supposed to be soft, and moist in the middle, and they were just, well, dry in the middle. It definitely took away from the enjoyment of the doughnut. Haven't been in person BUT I have tasted their pies and cider donut bread pudding, which I got through one of my kids' schools so I'm reviewing those. We ordered a blueberry pie and their cider donut bread pudding. The pie had a lattice top and was perfectly sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed it. They had the smallest blueberries in it and many were very much intact but not tart at all. Same for the bread pudding; my husband could tell that there was a fried component which made it super decadent, but it wasn't actually that sweet either! It was moist, nicely spiced with cinnamon, and the syrup that came with it enhanced everything. Color me impressed! I plan on visiting the farm and Market in person once it warms up and see everything else they have to offer. Once I do, I'll update this review. read more

We wanted to have a great fall morning outside at a place that screams everything fall with all the things, and we have made coming to Dreyer Farms our official kickoff outing to initiate the start of fall. I love everything about coming here - the location from our home, the very chill laid back vibe, the other parents trying to take pictures of their kids in the pallets filled with pumpkins - and their general store is really well stocked with all the comfort foods you associate with the season. Although my son, now 3, was very indecisive in getting a pumpkin, he had no problem picking out animal shaped sugar cookies and helping pick flower arrangements for our front porch. My neighbors don't believe me when I tell them I bought this year a HUGE multi-colored mum arrangement for under $50, they think I bought it at home-depot. I truly am enjoying watching the colors bloom each morning when I get up. This year for Thanksgiving, we picked up some cherry and apple pies, because they are too sinful to pass up! We usually visit here more than once before the holidays to see other offerings and recommend you do the same! read more

This is really the nicest nursery I've been to thus far, perhaps because it feels intimate and beautiful (versus sprawling). I could walk the grounds rather than riding in a golf cart, and the selection of trees and plants is still quite varied. Inside, they also have donuts, fruits, vegetables, preserves, and other goodies. I didn't buy anything, but I will definitely go back to make a purchase at some point. read more

They have the best pies in the area so I come here a lot. Of the selection we absolutely love the peach and though I'm not a fan of cherry pie, my guests devoured it and even I enjoyed it. Dreyers makes fresh cinnamon sugar and powdered donuts on the weekends and they come out nice and hot. They also have local farm to table food items like Nicola's fresh pasta and honey from a local bee farm. Fresh milk comes in and they have produce too. In the freezer is organic meat from D'artagnan farm. The nursery has healthy plants too. read more

I really love this place! They have a large variety of plants and flowers that are reasonably priced. They also sell home baked goods. The chocolate chip cookies are my favorite! This place is awesome! We got a bunch of plants/herbs for the garden and some baked goods. Plants/Herbs - Reasonably priced. The thing that stood out to me - when we went, we asked where the tomato plants were. They told us they didn't put it out yet because it's still too cold and they know it will not succeed in home gardens yet. This right here is the difference between a local place and a mega garden store. They actually care about you! Baked goods - Oh man oh man oh man. We had the pie and the apple donuts the first time. SO GOOD. There's a lot of options if you like pie, so come craving pie. We went back the next week to get the Blueberry Buckle. It tasted like a blueberry muffin. Loved it all. read more

This is such a lovely place in Cranford. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Once, we purchased a tree with them that started to wilt rather quickly and called them up to say so. We figured they would advise us on what might've gone wrong and we could come in to buy another. Instead, they sent out a young man out to our house to come look at where we planted the tree specifically. He told us exactly what we could do to make it successful the second time around and they gave us another tree no charge. So incredibly sweet. Also, the whole place has such a deep history infused in the town! The previous owner was even mayor for a while if I remember correctly! They also recently loaned some trees to be displayed downtown to brighten up the streets during quarantine. Their homemade cinnamon donuts are to die for and we've always been happy with the produce purchased here. This is one establishment I'm always thrilled to give my business to. read more

It's just a wonderful gem of a place. They have fresh produce, plants, and foooood!!! We came there specifically for the apple cider doughnuts and they did not disappoint. I love watching the doughnuts being made. It makes my inner fat kid happy. We also bought whoopie pies, peach melba toast, ice cream, eggs, grass fed beef, mozzarella, and a peach pie of course. I had a chance to stop by Dreyer Farms en route to lunch and picked up some sweets. Upon walking in the luxurious smell of freshly fried donuts was wafting through the air, and I quickly made my way to the rear corner of the market where the donut making station is located. Being St. Patrick's Day, all the donuts were colored green, and from their three available flavors (plain, cinnamon sugar, and powdered) I chose a small 1/2 dozen of the powdered sugar donuts. Note that Dreyer's donuts are not regularly sized donuts but somewhere between the size of a normal Dunkin Donuts donut and a Munchkin. I enjoyed the donuts. The donuts had restrained sweet powdered sugar exterior, followed by a flavorful thin and crisp fried layer, and finally inside was the warm and buttery donut dough. A word of advice: The donuts should be eaten fairly quickly as the donut got a noticeable chewy and dense texture after an hour. Showing some restraint, I also purchased one of Dreyer's 6" diameter peach pies, and in hindsight I wish I had opted for the larger diameter pie as it was delicious. The crust was flaky and buttery, attributes of a excellent pie crust, and had the perfect thickness to handle the peach filling. Peach filling tasted delicious and quite fresh and noticing that Dreyer's sells preserved peaches, I'm guessing they use that to make the filling. read more

Long term customer & very conflicted. When it used to be in a large garage it was so affordable & normal, very "home town." But then they went upscale with the new building- and so did the prices. I paid the same for a half gallon of cider here as I did for a full gallon elsewhere. Yes, the products are excellent quality, but so are at other such places- except at a reasonable price elsewhere. I just don't understand the high prices because it's a farm so they pay next to nothing in taxes. Also I overheard the old woman joking with a manager type about a customer who was just shopping & minding his own business- very odd. I used to come here regularly but now only if I can't find what I need elsewhere. read more

Lovely and as local as it gets! Jams, preserves, pickles, and pies. Local cheese and butter and veggies as far and wide as the eye can see. And did busy parents, premade foods in the fridge and freezer cases. We bought some fresh ears of sweet Jersey corn, housemade pickles, and apple cider donuts (devoured in the parking lot). Minus one star for the basil plant that was past its prime and limited parking. We will be back again and again! read more

This is my favorite place to go whenever I head to the east coast go visit my family. Such a nostalgia. The pies are so fresh and delicious. All the produce is so fresh! The people that work here are super friendly, and kind. The nursery is absolutely beautiful. I saw the funniest eggplant! Please make sure you have the pumpkin pie, so creamy and rich in taste, not too sweet which made me appreciate how natural the pie was. Great place for a family Day, or a day alone. read more

Dreyer Farms has renovated their storefront and expanded their parking lot. They now carry gourmet food items in addition to their own produce, fruit preserves, pickled vegetables, and pasta sauces, including organic chocolate-flavored, homogenized, and non-homogenized milk from a local dairy (in old-fashioned glass bottles), locally-produced artisan cheeses, organic eggs, Amish butter, frozen pot pies and entrées, a daily selection of breads and rolls from Breadsmith, olive olis from Patricia & Paul's in Westfield, and wines from a local NJ winery. Prices are not too bad. The chocolate milk is $4.50 for 1/2 gallon. Plus, you'll get a $1.50 refund if you return the bottle. The exact same product, sold by the farmer at his kiosk at the Summit Farmers Market on Sundays, is $7.50. Dreyers also participates in the CSA (community supported agriculture) program. As a member, they provide you with a "gift box" of in-seson produce once a week, May through November. CSA members pay for an entire season of produce upfront, which aids the farmers. You have a choice of sizes, small to large, and the package also includes recipes, depending on what's included in the box. Boxes usually include 7-10 types of vegetables. In addition to vegetables, you can add fruit, eggs, meat, and even flowers to your subscription. read more

There are many non-Geeky things I enjoy in life. When I'm not buried in the world of scifi and comic books I like to work with plants on my balcony and cook. One day when I was in Garwood and realized I needed to buy some soil, I hit up the ol' Yelp app to find a garden supply place nearby and up popped Dreyer Farms. In all the years I have lived in this area I never realized there was such a place so I headed on over and man, am I glad I did! Dreyer Farms isn't some cute name for a bodega. This is a legit farm with huge plots of land dedicated to growing plants, tractors rumbling by and piles of gardening supplies to purchase. In the main building you'll find a food market where you can buy everything from fresh baked pies to donuts (made on premises via a machine you can watch in action) and milk. This is not cheapie stuff. This is fresh, organic and high end but oh so worth it! We picked up a bread pudding made of apple cider donuts and it's every bit as wonderfully insane as it sounds. Towards the back of the market area is a small wine store where there are several different types of wine available to sample. They're not stingy either. The person who gave us samples was more than happy to give us sample after sample but I told her I still had to drive home (yes, I did wind up buying a bottle of red). Once you go through the back to the outside section you're faced with the garden center which has an insane array of flowers and plants from small to large sizes for purchase. They also have supplies like soil and pots. They even had a planter that I kind of considered for a while until I reminded myself that my balcony isn't *that* big! If you're into this stuff it's literally the type of place you could spend an hour just staring at things. Everyone at this place was super sweet. I got this very "family business" vibe from the folks there. I absolutely loved this place and I can't wait to go back! read more

This place is so amazing. It has a parking lot on premises (if you can find parking, it was pretty packed when we got there). There is a huge nursery with fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers to buy for your garden or home. It's a little pricier than other spots I've seen but their plants looked like they were in great shape. Also on premises is a little farmer's markets to get produce, fresh baked pies, and more. This has become a pandemic go-to place for me. I love that it's open-air, and it feels safer to me. Sadly I can't eat baked goods (their baked goods look delicious), but I go to Dreyer between supermarket runs to get milk, cheese, apples, and some veggies. Although they do have some produce labeled as being from NJ, it's clearly not a "local only" veggies place, as they have some out-of-season items, like asparagus in November. Hmm. And their stuff may not be that fresh. The apples I got, though refrigerated, didn't last too long. Also, I wish they had organic produce. But oh well. I'll take what can get. This is our go-to spot for grabbing garden supplies and for getting various strains of corn so fresh and sweet in the summer that you can eat them raw.I also love the variety of self raised and locally sourced vegetables and fruits. I gave them an extra star for saving me an hour drive South or West in order to get farm raised veggies and fruit from the source. There's a clear difference in taste as compared to what you get at the supermarkets. Please support your local NJ area farmers by shopping at places like Dreyer's. Dreyer is a nursery, a farm and a farm stand. In the summer I try to leave the office early enough to get there before they close. It helps me to figure out what's for dinner. I love their old school cash register. We sort of start off our spring/summer looking out for the strawberry sign to go up and then it's just a none stop strawberry fest until father' day. After the strawberries are done we redirect our attention to the corn until Labor Day. Apples and Apple Cider galor till Thanksgiving. Plenty of other stuff make my mouth water too, peaches, cherries, figs, watermellon, spinach, tomatoes, radishes and lots more. I have also bought eggs, peach cider, mozarella cheese and bread from them and was very happy with the quality. I love pulling into that gravel parking lot. BTW, we buy our perennials and annuals there too but that's my husband's department. read more
