More importantly though, the staff is beyond helpful and kind. We ran into a couple hiccups after our wedding with miscommunications between vendors. Worst service I have ever seen; no wonder they changed their name from Champion Rose Catering to…read moreSkinner's Catering. My sister booked their services for my mothers funeral here in the St. Paul, MN area. They charged her $95 for servers that I had to go find and inform that they were way short on food because instead of doing their job they were off planning another event under. It took multiple attempts of me telling Skinner's Catering's employees to go downstairs and see what was going on. At this point she went and as loud as she could counted the guests (my sister planned for 50, the planner, Jennifer from Skinner's Catering, said lets make it 60) she counted 54. At this point the employees from Skinner's Catering informed me that they charged my sister $7.95 a person plus server fees and other fees for 2 oz of deli meat and 1 bun. I pulled the lady to the side and told her she swindled my sister and she needed to fix this immediately; her response was "these people just eat too much, and I only brig 2 oz of meat and a bun; money isn't my job, someone else handles that." I told her she was unprofessional and what caterer who charges a server fee leaves an event to plan another instead of doing their job and watching over the event. The caterer then told a guest, our grandma, who took two sandwiches "you sure do eat a lot." The lady is 95lbs, I think maybe Skinner's Catering is just off on their "2 oz." On their website they advertise this exact option as a "deli buffet" for funerals but don't mention that it is only a small meat tray of roughly 1 slice of meat, a bun, and a spoonful of fruit and potato salad per a person. In the end I could carry on about Skinner's Catering being the worst service I've ever seen of all the events I have planned for my military functions and all of the locations and catering services I have used, but words just don't do justice to how horrible and unprofessional these individuals where. I would never recommend them.

Built in 1909, it has a certain elegance about it. It is a perfect venue for a small, maybe 30 to 50 people tops, event. Very easy to find, a prestigious location, and lovely grounds. Except for the owner, the staff is like high school kids. A tad on the unprofessional side. I mean, like coming up to my table carrying a bustub and removing plates directly into the tub. Ick. Like a Dennys or something. The food was marginal, I will not accept instant mashed potatoes at my wedding if I ever get married again. Pork was ok, salad was a little wilted. S & P was not on each table, lame. Not much of a choice on the buffet, but I am sure that was due to the choice of the bride and groom. B O T T O M L I N E ..... O K A Y

All of their entrées comes with side bread. I did get a Caesar salad and it was very good. The Caesar salad dressing is super delicious.. Their parking lot is very small, especially for dinner time. We flew in last week and all came to Rudy's to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It was extremely busy and we were skeptical if we chose the right place, but we were greeted well and shown to our table quickly. Right after we sat down we were greeted promptly by our favorite server Justin, the guy I wrote my last review of. We knew we were in great hands! Not only did he remember us he knew what we ordered last time and that was about 2 years ago. Impressive! He took care of us so well we were all blown away!!!! I can never find this kind of service in Florida. He made the evening so special and exquisite that I can not explain in words. Rudytinis, old fashioneds, medallions, and my wife's favorite the coconut ship were unbelievable! I had the prime rib and oh my god it was so juicy. Like on my last review, myself, and my whole family has never had a server that has shown us this much love and compassion as Justin! The timing and knowledge of every detail of the food and pairings is top tier!!! The experience of celebrating our anniversary at Rudy's along with Justin's service definitely makes us consider moving back from Florida. Thank you Rudy's and thank you Justin for doing what you guys do best. 5 stars! We recommend this restaurant to everyone down in south Florida when traveling to Minnesota for whatever reason.
