Support your local business! This is an auto body shop. NOT a mechanic. Now that THAT is out of the…read moreway... Tim, the owner, may have a slightly dry sense of humor but what he can do for your scratches and dents or customization is wonderful! My father swears by this shop and after having had to have some work after an idiot rear ended me I decided this was the place to go. You can tell this place will take good care of your mechanical metal baby and has a passion for his craft. The free estimates are a god send. I have been places where they'll charge you $50.00 or more for them to even glance in the direction of your car, but not here. I had the opportunity to sit in the small waiting room, surrounded by hundreds of model cars and Thank You notes, while he made some calls. Tim was trying hard to find the proper bumper for a Beetle that needed work. Much of the search does take place on-line. The insurance company that took care of my car even sent an email to Blackie's informing them to look out for my business. The only reason I didn't give this business a 5 was because of the inconvenient hours. They close around 5 Mon-Friday. At the very least I currently have my dad nearby to get the car for me, otherwise I'd have to use sick time from work just to take care of my baby. But she'd be worth it.

Terrible experience using this body shop ! The shadiest people you ever want to do business with …read more Were nice till I called them out on their backyard paint work & fitment issues . After that the secretary & owner had a attitude & nothing was their fault . Awful paint work full of dirt & fish eyes , runs , nibs , peeling clear coat . Cut lots of corners to make some extra money . Got paid to do things by the insurance company that they didnt do properly ( insurance fraud ) . They play these games were they want you to pick your vehicle up after they are closed so they can avoid you . After they fixed it the second time I go to pick it up after 5 of course when they are closed . The battery is dead in it from them working on it & that's how they gave it back ? Terrible customer service , the worst I have ever seen . Avoid this place at all costs is my advice I learned the hard way !

06 Cadillac STS broke a ball joint going across bridge to monaca. Called AAA to dispatch a tow…read moretruck to me, they say 45 mins for Tow Tegrity and listed as top priority due to my location ....25 mins later police show up saying cars impeding traffic and they arent gonna wait for tow Tegrity they will call their own tow company that accepts AAA. Baldingers shows up says AAA covers it and bc they accept it and i say it needs towed to 8 miles away to my home so I can fix it. Tow truck guy says no its going to our shop (1.8 miles away) and from there you can have it towed. I told him what was wrong with the car and that loading and unloading it onto towtruck after tow truck risks damaging the car even more and if he can accept AAA then it can be towed where i need it towed instead of where is convenient for him. From there car gets towed to shop, i arrive a few sec after tow truck driver, stand outside waiting for him to get out, he rolls the window down and says "Can i help you?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Wtf do you mean can i help you you? I know he cant be that stupid that he doesn't recognize me from 5 mins ago. But thats not even the best part. Once my cars towed there the guy asks me where i needed it towed to, i tell him, he then tells me that AAA doesnt cover the tow and itll be $100 to drop the car at his shop or $200 to take it where it was originally supposed to go. Again....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!. Very very shady to me, had i known they dont accept AAA id of just backed the car up off the bridge and waited for the tow company that doesnt lie and have shady business practices. On top of all this, i cant even pay the $100 for the tow bc theyre closed. So now, when i could be working on my car and had it fixed the same day and fixed by myself, my cars basically impounded, and I now have $100 in towing, and they offered to quote me for free the price to repair and not charge me overnight storage fee as long as i call tomorrow. Well ill be calling to see if they actually give me a decent price on repairs as they said they would or try to screw me over. For future reference, if the owner/manager happens to read this.... have your tow truck drivers be truthful, and not lie saying AAA covers it when in fact IT DOES NOT and train your drivers in customer service because telling my stepdad to "Fuck off" (on fathers day) for him voicing his concern over the situation is unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely uncalled for. Depending how tomorrow goes with them on the phone, i may be adding to this review or taking it down. All i know is its very untrustworthy and very shady for them to say one thing, do the job, and say something completely different.

I called to inform him of the issue and asked if I'd be able to ride to the mechanic. He agreed! Chris was so nice on the phone. My drop off for my car was between 4 & 6. I called Chris on a Friday to schedule my tow the next day and gave him the time frame of my drop off. He said they had some tows scheduled early in the afternoon & would call before on their way for mine. I ended up calling around 4 to check if they only accept cash for tows & Chris explained he would be there in about 15-20 minutes & that they have no way to run credit cards from the truck, so only cash would be accepted. When they came to pick up my car, it was all downhill lol. My car hadn't moved in 2-3 months. The brakes had locked and it couldn't get pushed onto the truck. We also tried jumper cables to jump it but that didn't work because the gas was a little low & again it hasn't been started for awhile. Chris & his buddy hooked up the car with a chain and steered it on to the truck. $60 (6miles total) my car was on it's way to the shop. Since my car was just a drop off at mechanic , I didn't have to be there / ride with them but it was nice to know the option was there. Thanks again guys!!!!

COMPOSITE REVIEW A…read morelocal neighborhood shop where everyone "knows your name." Convenient, reliable, honest and helpful. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Now that folk are keeping their automobiles MUCH longer than ever before, business in the maintenance/repair of older autos is booming. Smart "small shop" operators know the satisfaction of clientele keeps people coming back for the "little things" that often become "big things." Recently I went in for a muffler repair to find out my old car needed (really... ) rear brakes, fuel line replacement, steering line replacement, and a few other things. My car is routinely "maintained" (was...) at a Buick dealership so to find out (and see it visually myself) just how "unmaintained" it was -- irritatingly shocking. f8 and be there.
